Chapter 38: A Fresh Start, A Fresh Mess..

As Olive watched the car disappear from view, she let out a heavy sigh. "I hope he’ll be okay," she said, her expression sad.

Lucas placed a hand on her shoulder, offering comfort. "He will be. Austin is a strong boy. I’m sure he’ll get over Samuel’s death soon."

Olive brushed his hand off, her eyes flashing with annoyance. "Can’t you stand alone? I’m not a tree you should rest on."

Lucas raised an eyebrow, puzzled. "When did I treat you like a tree?"

Olive rolled her eyes. "It’s supposed to be a pat. But you refused to remove your hand, using me as a tree to rest on." She shook her head, muttering under her breath, "Lazy ass."

Mark intervened, sensing tension. "Hey, guys, let’s cut it out. We’re back to school after two weeks."

"Yeah! Back to school work, practicals, homeworks. Olive chimed in as she let out a heavy sigh.

"You don’t want to be back to school?" Lucas asked with a smirk.

"Why wouldn’t I? I can’t be on vacation forever! Just have to get back to school." Olive replied.

"That’s not what I thought. You seemed pretty happy not having to see my face while I was stuck at home. You had a angry expression on your face when you saw me at your house this morning." Lucas said, smirking.

" That’s because you showed up unannounced. It’s common courtesy to ask before dropping by." Olive retorted, frowning.

" Why should I ask? You should be glad I came to pick you up." Lucas replied, rolling his eyes.

" No one invited you to come, okay? How could I have thought you’d change your ways during vacation, only to find out you’re still a jerk!" Olive muttered to herself in frustration.

"Oh, so you were thinking about me all vacation long." Lucas teased, causing Olive to scowl. "Sorry, I can’t return your affection even if you have feelings for me." Lucas said, walking away with Mark and Aiden trailing behind.

Not only does he have a bad attitude, now he’s acting crazy too. Olive thought to herself, watching Lucas walk away, her heart racing.

"Are you going to continue standing there?" Lucas’s voice rang out, snapping Olive out of her thoughts. She grabbed her travel bags filled with snacks, clothes, writing materials, and other essentials and headed into the school building.

The hallway was bustling with students making their way to the assembly. Olive, Lucas Mark and Aiden then walk their way with the other students to the assembly hall. They then took their seats and focused their attention on Mrs. George, who was already on stage preparing to address them.

Mrs. George cleared her throat and began her introduction.

"Hello, students of Belmont High School. A lot has happened during these two weeks of vacation, and now we’re back at school. Unfortunately, we lost one of our students, Samuel Adam, during this break, and our hearts were broken."

The students’ lively expressions turned somber as they listened, some wiping away tears with their handkerchiefs.

Mrs George then continued,"But we are relieved that the case has been resolved, and the culprit is now awaiting judgment in prison. As we all know, the principal of Belmont High, Miss Aimee, was responsible, and she is now facing the consequences of her actions."

"A new principal will soon be introduced to all of you. I have confidence that this new principal will guide you all to success. Let’s not dwell on the past, but instead, open our hearts to new opportunities and embrace learning in order to achieve greatness." Mrs George concluded.

The students applauded her speech, their faces reflecting their happiness.

"I didn’t know the witch could say something comforting and encouraging," Lucas muttered quietly, causing Olive to shake her head.

"You’re crazy!" Olive replied.

Decorum was soon restored and Mrs George continued with her speech.

"Your new principal is here, students!" She announced with a smile, gesturing towards the entrance where the students had directed their gaze to see their new principal. "Please come in!"

A muscular man in a blue suit with black stripes, black curly hair, green eyes, and pink lips entered the assembly hall, walked up the stage, and stood next to Mrs. George after exchanging hugs.

"It’s your turn now," Mrs. George said with a smile as she handed the microphone to the muscular man. He then began his speech, his voice resonating throughout the hall.

"Good morning, students! I am Mr. Philip, your new principal. Welcome back to Belmont High School."

The students applauded, filling the hall with noise before quieting down.

"Why are they clapping?" Lucas muttered, rolling his eyes in annoyance and crossing his arms in frustration.

Mr. Philip then continued, looking serious.

"I am familiar with this school and its reputation. Let me make it clear to all of

you students: I am a strict man and will not tolerate any misbehavior during my tenure as principal. I expect all of you to conduct yourselves appropriately for us to have a harmonious relationship."

"As long as I am in charge, I want us to uphold the values of discipline, hard work, and excellence. These are the principles I want you all to embrace."

"As I mentioned earlier, there will be no room for nonsense. Welcome back to school, everyone." Mr Philip concluded, his expression stern.

"Wow, this new principal means business," one student remarked, causing laughter to ripple through the assembly hall.

"Quiet!" Mr. Philip shouted, restoring order in the assembly. "This is when discipline comes in. I’m still talking hence you don’t need to talk, he added his gaze on the student who turned the assembly noisy."

"You can now leave now It’s a pleasure to meet all of you." He concluded promting the students to stand up and began making their way out of the assembly hall.

"Where’s Lucas?" Olive asked, realizing that her seatmate had disappeared.

"He probably got bored and left," Mark replied, sharing a laugh with Olive. "Let’s go."

Agreeing, Olive and Mark left the assembly hall, stopping at their lockers to gather their supplies for the term before heading to their respective dorms to unpack.

"I heard that the principal’s two sons will be attending this school....."

The principal is very handsome but strict. I wonder if his sons will be as good-looking..."

" I hope they are gay so I can have some fun...."

"The students at this school are wild!" Olive said with a laugh, listening to the gossip. "They are already speculating that the sons might be gay."

"The sons are quite handsome, actually. I met them once in Paris during my travels. They speak French fluently as they grew up in Paris." Mark said with a smile as he organized his books. "And they’re twins, the Philip family twins."

" I think we might be in for some trouble with those two around." Olive sighed heavily. " It’s going to be quite a show."

"Why do you say that" Mark raised an eyebrow.

"It’s obvious. The students are already crushing on them, and they haven’t even arrived yet. I predict a lot of drama, broken relationships, and tears." Olive replied, causing Mark to burst into laughter.
