Chapter 160: What WasThat For..?

Chapter 160: What WasThat For..?

Lucas remained silent for a moment, his eyes softening as he looked down at her. "What do you think?"

Lucas’s response hung in the air, leaving Olive’s heart racing with a mix of anticipation and fear.

"What do you think?" Lucas repeated softly, his eyes locked onto hers.

Olive’s voice trembled as she tried to steady her emotions. "You’re lying, right? And I think you should tell me the truth."

Lucas’s expression softened, and with a tender touch, he gently brushed away the tears from her cheeks. "We didn’t have sex that night, Olive."

Relief washed over Olive like a wave, her breath finally escaping her in a soft sigh.

"But," Lucas added, his voice low and sincere, "we came close. We kissed, you know." He hesitated, not wanting to mention the part where Olive had straddled him. "You were drunk, and I understand. I would never take advantage of you, Olive. I care about you too much."

"Oh, thank goodness!" Olive sniffled, still a bit shaky as she wiped the last of her tears away. "You scared the hell out of me, Lucas. I didn’t want to lose my virginity without even knowing about it. That would have made me feel... violated."

"I’m not that kind of person and even if you aren’t a virgin, I still wouldn’t do it without your consent." Lucas replied gently. "I love you, Olive. Not because I’m after your body, but because I love everything about you, your spirit, your laugh, your heart. I know you don’t feel the same, but I had to tell you."

His confession melted Olive’s heart, and for a moment, her gaze deepened as she looked into his eyes. There was an undeniable tenderness in his words, but also something playful.

"But," Lucas continued, chuckling lightly, "you did take advantage of me that night. You kissed me, and we almost crossed a line. If I hadn’t been careful..." He laughed softly, trying to make light of the situation.

Olive’s lips curled into a smile, and she let out a small laugh despite herself. "I’m sorry," she whispered, her gaze locked with his, her expression sincere.

"It’s okay, sh..."

Before Lucas could finish, Olive silenced him with a kiss, her lips pressing against his in a sudden burst of emotion. The kiss was brief but charged, and when she pulled away, Lucas was left stunned, momentarily lost in the taste of her. His heart pounded wildly in his chest, but he tried to conceal his excitement.

"What... What was that for?" Lucas asked, trying to regain his composure as he stood there, heart thudding.

Olive looked away, cheeks flushed red. "Thank you, Lucas," she whispered, her voice soft but trembling. "And... I... I..."

"You’re?" Lucas raised an eyebrow as he took a step closer to her, now standing just inches away. His eyes bore into hers, and the silence between them became almost palpable.

The room was thick with unspoken tension as they stood there, neither one willing to break the moment.

Olive’s heart began to race faster, her eyes falling to Lucas’s lips. She wanted to kiss him again, more than anything. I love you too, Lucas, she thought to herself as she swallowed hard, her breathing shallow. We might end up having sex tonight. The thought both thrilled and scared her. I kissed him, so this is my fault... you’re so naughty, Olive!

Just as her thoughts spiraled, Lucas leaned in slightly, breaking her trance. "You shouldn’t take back a gift you want to give someone," he said, gently pulling a small box from her hand, breaking her whirlpool of thoughts.

"Oh... I thought you didn’t want it," Olive stammered, suddenly flustered.

"Of course I want it. I love anything that comes from you," Lucas replied with a warm smile, unwrapping the gift with a soft hum of appreciation. Inside was a steel bracelet with a love sign on it.

Without hesitation, Lucas slipped it onto his wrist, admiring the simple yet meaningful piece. "You love it, or are you just faking it? It’s not silver, you know... just steel. You don’t have to act like you love it if you don’t," Olive said, rolling her eyes with a playful pout.

Lucas shook his head, his smile growing wider. "I love it, Olive. I told you, I love everything about you, including anything that comes from you." His sincerity made Olive blush, though she tried to suppress it. "Thank you."

"You’re welcome," Olive replied with a soft smile, her heart fluttering.

"So..." Lucas began, pausing as he moved towards the bed, grabbing another box. Walking back to Olive, he opened it to reveal a delicate silver necklace with a love pendant. "I know you don’t want to be in a relationship with me, and that’s okay, but... you can accept this as a gift between friends, right? I bought it for you... specially for your birthday." He paused and opened the pendant, revealing it was a locket with Olive’s picture inside, taken when she was younger.

Olive’s eyes widened, her mouth parting in shock. "How did you get this picture?" she asked, astonished as she gazed at the photo of her from primary school.

"I took a picture of it that day Mark and I came over. You told me it was your sister, and I believed you," Lucas said with a chuckle. "But now I know... you were lying." He laughed softly. "You’re such a little liar, Olive. I just got emotional that day and took it anyway."

"Oh my God, Lucas!" Olive exclaimed, placing a hand over her mouth, unable to stop the laughter bubbling up from her surprise.

"So, will you accept this?" Lucas asked again, his eyes filled with hope. "It’s special... just for you."

Olive looked up from the locket, her heart swelling with emotion. "Yes, Lucas. I will," she whispered excitedly. Her words sent a jolt of happiness down Lucas’s spine.

Turning around, she lifted her hair. "You can put it on for me," she added.

Lucas’s eyes widened in surprise, and he swallowed nervously as he looked at the smooth skin of her neck. Even her neck was beautiful, and for a moment, he was lost, mesmerized.

"Lucas?" Olive’s voice pulled him out of his thoughts. "What are you thinking about? Help me put it on."

"Oh... right." Lucas fumbled slightly, his hands shaking as he clasped the necklace around her neck. The warmth of her skin against his fingers sent sparks through his body, and he tried to focus. When the necklace was secure, Olive turned to face him, their faces mere inches apart.

"It’s beautiful on you," Lucas whispered, swallowing hard.

"Thank you," Olive replied softly, her gaze locked with his. Without thinking, she lifted a hand, tracing his face with her fingers. The tender touch sent shivers down his spine, and Lucas felt as if every nerve in his body was on fire.

Their lips met again, this time more deliberately, as they gave in to the moment, losing themselves in the soft warmth of the kiss. The room around them faded away, leaving only the two of them, wrapped in each other’s embrace.

Lucas’s arms tightened around her waist, pulling her closer, and Olive’s hands slid up his chest, tracing the contours of his face. Time seemed to stop as the kiss deepened, their connection palpable.

Suddenly, Lucas broke away, his chest heaving with emotion. "Olive... we need to slow down," he whispered, his voice thick with longing.

"Why?" Olive’s voice was barely audible, her eyes still heavy with desire.

"Because," Lucas’s eyes burned with intensity, "I don’t want to hurt you. I don’t want us to do something we’ll regret later."

Olive’s face softened, her heart swelling with love for him. "I’m ready," she whispered, her voice steady. "We don’t have to go all the way, but I’m okay with kissing... and more, if we want. I won’t regret it."

Lucas’s eyes searched hers, looking for reassurance. "Are you sure? I thought we were just friends..."

Ignoring his question, Olive leaned in, pressing her lips to his once again. This time, the kiss was slow, deliberate, filled with all the emotions she’d been holding back for so long.

Lucas responded, wrapping his arms around her once more, lifting her effortlessly as her legs wrapped around his waist. The silence between them was no longer awkward but charged with unspoken promises.

"Lucas?" Olive whispered, breaking the kiss but still holding onto him, her legs wrapped around his waist.

"Yeah?" Lucas replied gently, his voice low. "Do you want to stop?"

"I love you," Olive said, barely able to find her voice. "And I’m not accepting this necklace as a friend. I’m accepting it as your girlfriend."

Lucas’s heart skipped a beat, his eyes widening in surprise. "You... really?" he asked, almost in disbelief. "I love you too, Olive," he whispered, his voice full of emotions. "I love you so much."

And then their lips met again, both of them surrendering to the passion that had been building between them for long.
