Disguised As A Boy To Attend Belmont High School
Chapter 142: Circle of Secrets.

Chapter 142: Circle of Secrets.

Olive’s eyes widened in surprise as she watched Aiden’s figure disappear down the hallway. "What’s going on with him?" she whispered, her voice barely audible, her gaze still fixed on his retreating back. Her chest tightened with worry. Something was clearly wrong, but she couldn’t put her finger on it.

Mark shook his head, frowning. "No idea, but he’s acting strange, stranger than usual." His expression was clouded with uncertainty, his eyes flickering with concern.

Lara’s frown deepened, her arms crossing over her chest as she leaned back in her chair. "We need to keep an eye on him. Something’s definitely off." Her tone was serious, filled with the same unease that was settling over the group.

Olive sat in silence for a moment, her mind racing with unspoken questions. Just what is going on? Everyone’s keeping secrets. It gnawed at her, the sense of something simmering beneath the surface, something they weren’t privy to. And it made her stomach churn with anxiety.

Suddenly, Lara stood up, the determination in her movements catching Olive off guard. "Let’s follow him," she said, her voice low but insistent. She glanced at Olive and Mark, urging them to move.

Mark hesitated, shooting Olive a glance before shaking his head firmly. "I’m not doing that," he said, his voice unwavering. "That’s an invasion of privacy. He said he’d be back soon, let him meet us in class when he gets back." His expression hardened with resolve, clearly uncomfortable with the idea of tailing their friend.

Lara scoffed, clearly dissatisfied with Mark’s reasoning. "Aren’t you guys the least bit curious?" she pressed, her eyes alight with curiosity. "Anabella, Rachael, Peace, Jessica, and Henry, suddenly they’re all a group. It’s suspicious, right? And Aiden , bantering with Anabella like he knows some secret between Louise and the girls."

Mark rolled his eyes, folding his arms across his chest. "Look, if Aiden knows something and isn’t telling us, he has his reasons," he said, his tone growing more serious. "Well, that’s their business. We don’t need to get involved in their drama."

Lara sighed heavily and sank back into her chair, a frown tugging at her lips. "I just don’t get why you’re so calm about it," she muttered, clearly frustrated.

"We should head to class," Mark said, his expression softening. "Lucas will want to talk to Aiden now after he finds out the reason why he slept with Anabella. He only wanted him to break up with her? Kinda knew she was a slut."

"And you think Lucas is going to thank Aiden for that?" Lara scoffed, shaking her head incredulously. "Just because Aiden’s motives make sense doesn’t mean Lucas will see it that way. The fact remains, Aiden slept with Anabella, all while he was still dating her. Knowing Lucas, he’ll see it as a betrayal, no matter what."

"He’ll understand," Mark said confidently, his eyes flicking toward Olive. "He’s in love with Olive, after all. He’s just pretending to be angry so people won’t see him as a fool for staying friends with someone who hooked up with his girlfriend. It’s normal for him to act like this, considering what happened."

Mark’s voice trailed off as he realized what he’d just revealed. His eyes widened in panic, his hands flying to his mouth as if to take back the words, but the damage was already done.

"O... Olive?" Olive’s eyebrow arched, her gaze sharpening as she looked at him. The curiosity in her eyes was impossible to miss.

Lara jumped in, her voice cutting through the silence. "Yeah, he knows," she admitted with a heavy sigh. "He’s known since the vacation house."

"Vacation house?!" Olive’s voice shot up, her eyes wide in shock. "And I’m just finding out about this now?"

"Sorry," Lara said, rubbing her temples. "I didn’t think it was necessary to bring it up. Mark didn’t want to tell you either. He thought it’d be awkward."

"Yeah, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you," Mark added quickly, his voice sincere. "I didn’t want things to be weird between us. But trust me, Olive,I respect your secrets. I know why you kept your identity hidden, and it’s safe with me." He offered her a reassuring smile, his gaze steady.

"How do you even know Lucas loves her?" Lara asked, narrowing her eyes at Mark. Her curiosity seemed unquenchable.

Mark couldn’t help but laugh. "Isn’t it obvious?" he said, shaking his head. "And yeah, I’m pretty sure Lucas knows Olive’s a girl too. He loves her, he’s just waiting for her to give him a chance."

"You wouldn’t understand," Olive said quietly, her voice heavy with emotion. "I know Lucas cares about me, but it’s better this way. We can’t be more than friends... maybe even enemies."

Mark’s brow furrowed with concern. "Whatever your reasons, I just hope you two figure things out and end up happy," he said, his voice softer now. "But right now, we need to get to class. Aiden will meet us there, and we can’t afford to miss any more lectures. Not with everything that’s been going on and how we’ll have to start assisting Aiden in his daily tasks all while coping with school works"

Olive and Lara nodded their heads in agreement immediately. They stood up alongside Mark, and together, they left the cafeteria, heading towards their classroom.

Outside, Aiden spotted Louise leaning casually against a tree, dressed in a simple blue top and white shorts. The morning sun reflected off his sunglasses, casting shadows across his face as he stood with a smug, relaxed posture. His lips curled into a grin the moment his eyes landed on Aiden.

The instant Louise saw Aiden’s freshly shaven head, he burst into laughter. "What the hell is with that look?" he howled, doubling over in amusement. "Your hair...what did you do to it?"

Aiden sighed heavily, already regretting the meeting. "I cut it. Nothing special." His tone was flat, his patience visibly thinning. "Can we get down to business?"

Louise struggled to compose himself, wiping a tear from his eye as he continued to chuckle. "You cut it, huh?" he repeated, still grinning. "You look like a walking light bulb."

"Enough already," Aiden snapped, his voice tight with irritation. "We’re here for business, not a comedy show."

Louise finally stopped laughing, his expression shifting into something more calculated. "Alright, alright. You’re right on time, anyway." He crossed his arms, his smile still lingering. "You wouldn’t believe the attention I’ve been getting. People can’t stop staring at me like I’m some kind of celebrity."

Aiden remained unfazed. "That’s because of what you pulled at your welcome party."

"Yeah, yeah," Louise replied with a shrug. "I can’t say I hate the attention, though. Anyway, you wanted a package, but I still don’t get why you need it."

Aiden’s gaze darkened. "That’s none of your concern. I’ve paid you. Just give me what I asked for."

Louise tilted his head, a smirk playing on his lips. "I thought about deleting the video, you know. I only wanted to torture those girls for a little while, and I’ve already made them the laughing stock of Belmont. Mission accomplished."

He paused, lowering his voice as he leaned closer. "But I get it. You want the video, don’t you? Probably to mess with Anabella again. Go ahead, use it to scare her. But delete it afterward. I love seeing her squirm, but I’m done with her."

Aiden’s eyes narrowed, his patience clearly wearing thin. "The package?"

Louise reached into his bag and handed over a small, tightly wrapped box. Aiden snatched it from his hand, his expression serious.

"Just remember to delete the video when you’re done," Louise added, lighting a cigar and taking a long, slow drag. He exhaled, sending thick clouds of smoke into the air, which made Aiden cough.

"It’s none of your business," Aiden muttered, already walking away. "I’ve paid you, now stay out of my affairs."

Louise chuckled to himself, puffing on his cigar as he watched Aiden walked into the school building.

Meanwhile, Anabella paced back and forth Rachel’s the dorm. The neatly packaged bundles of drugs were arranged in small boxes, ready to be delivered to their eager customers. Jessica, Rachael, Peace, and Henry were also there, seated in a loose circle around the stash.

"What’s with you and Aiden?" Peace asked, raising an eyebrow in mild irritation. "Why the sudden fight?"

"What do you mean ’what’s with me’?" Anabella snapped, pacing back and forth across the room. "That idiot was insulting me, so I insulted him back! He’s always pretending to be so nice, but I know he hates me. I get blamed for everything. First Louise, now Aiden blames me for ruining his friendship with Lucas!"

"That’s your problem, not ours," Jessica interjected, lighting a cigarette and exhaling smoke. "You shouldn’t even be arguing with anyone, not with the emergency we have on our hands."

"And why are you even asking about Lucas?" Henry chimed in, his expression serious. "You need to leave that group alone. Besides, it feels like Aiden knows about your secret with Louise. He looks like he’d enjoy seeing your video go viral."

"Is that important right now?" Jessica snapped, clearly annoyed. "Even if Aiden knows, it’s not like he can go to the cops and make them believe him. Louise is our real problem. He could have recorded you girls confessions even though the others at his mansion doesn’t know about it but only get to see Louise intimate scene with you girls."

"You’re right," Rachael murmured, nodding. "Our focus should be on bringing Louise down."

Jessica crushed her cigarette into the ashtray. "Anyway, our business starts today. I’ve already advertised the drugs, and our first customer is ready. We’ll meet them at the library during lunch. I’ll handle the first delivery, and you guys can watch and learn."
