Chapter 129: Danger Zone..
Rachael stiffened, his words sending a chill down her spine. She quickly freed herself from Louise’s grip and walked away, her heart racing with fear.
Rachael hurried to the classroom, desperate to escape her problems. But her gaze soon fell on Anabella and Peace, who were seated with downcast expressions. The other students were busy attending to their own things, oblivious to the tension brewing between the three friends.
"Good, you two are here. We need to talk!" Rachael announced, pulling Anabella and Peace up by their arms. They didn’t resist; they had all been waiting for this conversation. The three friends made their way to the 3RM special room and locked the door behind them. It was the only safe and quiet place they could trust to hold such a delicate conversation.
"Louise is here," Rachael said, her voice trembling with worry. The statement didn’t shock Anabella and Peace; they were already aware and had braced themselves.
"That bastard is dangerous. I’m certain he came back to this school for revenge."
"What else did you expect?" Peace chimed in, her voice shaking as she turned to Anabella. "How is he out of rehab and prison so soon? I really thought he’d never escape. Didn’t you say you made sure of that?"
"I did," Anabella replied with a frustrated expression. "I don’t understand how he got out. I bribed the police officers to deal with him, to make sure he never came back. But here he is, back at Belmont, no doubt to ruin us. The three of us are the reason his life is like this. He’ll definitely make our lives a living hell."
"I’ve been through so much these past few days," Rachael complained, pacing back and forth in the room. "And now I have to deal with Louise’s trouble again? I haven’t even solved my the recent issues, and now this."
"What the hell are we going to do?" Peace’s voice cracked as tears welled in her eyes. "Our secrets can’t be exposed. If they are, we’ll regret it for the rest of our lives. My parents are going to kill me! And I don’t want to end up in rehab or prison."
"You think I want it exposed?" Anabella snapped, anger seeping into her tone. "Stop panicking. It won’t help. We should just find out what Louise wants and give it to him."
"Do you think he’ll settle for that?" Peace interjected, her face pale with fear. "Even if he does want something, what if he asks for something outrageous? You know how crazy he is. He could demand anything."
"He invited me to his party," Rachael interjected. "I’m sure he invited you both too. He said we should have fun like we used to, that it’s been a while. I don’t get it, but it seems like he wants us to go back to how things were before. He’s asking us to return to our old ways, to the past."
"We can’t say for sure yet," Anabella countered. "It wasn’t all bad between us back then. We did some good too. Let’s go to his party and find out what he means. If it’s something we can’t agree to, we’ll tell him. Then we can ask what else he wants and go from there."
"Or..." Peace’s voice dropped dangerously, "...should we just get rid of him? Should we kill him?"
Her words sent a wave of shock through Rachael and Anabella, both gasping in unison.
"How could you even suggest that?!" Rachael exclaimed. "We’re talking about a human life! We can’t commit more crimes just to protect our secrets. I still believe we can reason with him or should we not attend the party?"
Anabella let out a heavy sigh, her expression growing serious. "Whatever happens, we’ll face it together. Let’s attend the party and find out exactly what Louise is up to."

A sleek white Ferrari pulled up in front of a grand mansion, and Lara and Mark stepped out, carrying flowers and shopping bags. Without wasting time, they made their way into the luxurious, well-polished home filled with expensive furnishings while different servants attend to their duties but gave a slight bow to Mark and Lara the moment their gaze fell on them. Ascending the grand staircase, Mark opened a door, revealing a majestic room.
Floor-to-ceiling windows framed the room, casting a golden glow over the plush area rug and a king-sized bed placed in the middle of the room, its crisp white linens perfectly arranged where a boy with black hair lay on the bed. Nearby, a black wooden desk held a gleaming laptop. The wall opposite featured a massive flat-screen TV, beneath which sat a gaming console and sleek speakers.
Against one wall, a glass case displayed the room’s prized possession: a vintage cherry-red Porsche model car, its paintwork glinting under the soft light. Beside it, a series of shelves showcased a meticulously arranged sneaker collection, each pair spotlit like pieces of art.
Aiden quickly sat up from the bed, his face lighting up for a moment as his gaze fell on Mark and Lara. But his excitement faded just as quickly when he noticed the absence of another person.
"Hey, buddy!" Mark greeted, walking over to sit beside Aiden on the bed. "Heard you’ve been sick. How are you feeling now?"
"Uh...it’s nothing. I’m just weak but I’m feeling better now," Aiden replied, though his expression remained downcast. He glanced at Mark, his brow furrowing. "What about Lucas? Did he know I was sick? He’s always the first to come when he hears I’m not well."
Mark sighed. "He knows, Aiden. He just refused to come this time. He’s still hurt, and you know why. But I’m here, and I’m sure Lucas will come around soon."
"I see..." Aiden murmured. "What about Arthur and Henry?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I haven’t told them yet. I haven’t seen anyone lately; everyone’s been busy with their own stuff," Mark said, his tone matter-of-fact.
"Anyway, we brought you some flowers and provisions," Lara chimed in brightly, handing Aiden a bouquet of roses, which he accepted. "Malaria’s no joke, so make sure you take care of yourself. You don’t want to fall behind on schoolwork."
"Who said I have malaria?" Aiden asked sharply, a smirk playing at the corner of his mouth as he stared at Lara, his tone suddenly serious. "Don’t assume things you don’t know."
"Come on, Aiden. You’re being too harsh," Mark intervened, sensing the tension. "She only guessed it was malaria because that’s common. So what’s really going on, if it’s not that?"
The room fell silent as Aiden refused to answer, leaving both Mark and Lara waiting in awkward anticipation.
After a long pause, Aiden sighed heavily and stood up from the bed. "I need to use the bathroom. I’ll be right back," he muttered, heading into the adjacent en-suite and closing the door behind him.
From the other side, Aiden could still hear Lara’s voice. "What’s wrong with your friend? He’s acting strange," she said quietly.
Inside the bathroom, Aiden stood before the mirror, staring at his reflection. He ran his hand through his hair, only to pull away a fistful of strands. His breath hitched, and a single tear rolled down his cheek.
"I guess this is the purnishment for my sins." He murmured to himself.
