Chapter 359 Miss Lilith is back

Chapter 359: Chapter 359 Miss Lilith is back

The receptionist blinked in surprise for a moment before quickly standing up. "Miss Lilith," she said with a polite smile. "You can go right in."

Lilith gave a slight nod, not breaking her stride. She was familiar here. Too familiar, actually.

She entered the elevator, pressing the button to the top floor—the CEO’s private floor. As the doors slid shut, she glanced at her reflection in the steel surface. Calm. Composed. Regal. She fixed the collar of her suit and took a slow breath, her expression unreadable.

Her shooting schedule had wrapped up. She finally had time for herself and ESE’s production phase was also running smoothly, nearing the testing phase. With her team handling most of the details, she had the luxury of checking on the people she hadn’t seen in a while.

And someone was on top of that list. Someone she hadn’t heard from in weeks.

Her eyes slightly narrowed.

HUMAN DOLL!

The elevator dinged. The doors opened silently.

Lilith stepped out, her heels echoing down the quiet, luxurious hallway of the top floor.

Assistant Quinn nearly dropped the stack of documents he was holding. His face went pale the moment he saw the familiar click of red heels approaching from the elevator, each sound dragging dread across his spine.

Lilith.

He stood up with trembling hands as she stopped right at his desk. Her presence was overpowering, like a storm hidden in a pretty sky. She wasn’t smiling—no, that wasn’t a smile. That was the expression of a predator who already knew what you were hiding.

"Assistant Quinn," she said softly, her voice calm but laced with something dangerous, "long time no see."

He tried to bow slightly, but his body wasn’t cooperating. "M-m-miss L-Lilith... y-you’re here..." he stuttered, swallowing hard as sweat started to collect at his temples.

Lilith tilted her head slightly, her hair falling gently over her shoulder as her lips curled. "Why shouldn’t I be here?" she asked sweetly, though her tone was anything but kind.

"I’m still the boss’s secretary, am I not?" she added, leaning a little closer, her eyes never leaving his face. "I haven’t resigned yet."

Quinn’s knees almost buckled.

Of course she hadn’t. And of course she’d show up like this—out of nowhere, in a black suit and red heels, looking like she walked out of a high-fashion war zone ready to kill with a stapler if needed.

"N-no! Of course not! I–I didn’t mean that!" Quinn rushed to explain, waving his hands in panic. "It’s just that... CEO hasn’t been in office much lately and, and I wasn’t sure if you were still—"

"I see," Lilith interrupted, her smile fading just slightly. "So you’ve all been enjoying your freedom in your Boss absence."

"N-no!" he cried again, wishing the floor would open up and swallow him. "We—we’ve just been very busy!"

Lilith gave a slow blink and then straightened up. "Good. Because now I’m here to make things less busy for you."

She walked past him without another word, her heels clicking like a countdown to destruction.

Assistant Quinn nearly collapsed onto his chair, grabbing the edge of the desk to keep himself steady.

"She’s back..." he whispered to himself, eyes wide in horror. "God help me... Miss Lilith is back."

Lilith walked into her old workstation, her red heels tapping softly on the floor.

She looked calm from the outside, but her eyes held something deeper.

She placed her bag on the desk she used to sit at every day. Her fingers brushed over the smooth surface, and for a moment, she just stood there.

Without saying anything, she turned and began walking toward the CEO’s office.

Just then, Assistant Quinn noticed her and hurried toward her like he’d seen a ghost.

"M-Miss Lilith!" he stuttered, almost out of breath. "Sir isn’t inside. You shouldn’t go in!"

Lilith stopped and looked at him with a small smile—kind, but also a little cold.

"Why are you so scared?" she asked softly. "I’m just going to get a few files."

Before he could stop her, she opened the office door and stepped inside.

The room was spotless. Too spotless.

It looked like no one had been inside for a long time. The curtains were open a little, letting golden sunlight fall across the floor. Everything was clean and perfectly arranged.

Lilith stood near the desk, her eyes moving slowly around the room. His chair was turned slightly toward the window.

She didn’t move for a while.

It felt like something important was missing.

Her fingers gently touched the corner of the desk. There was a thin layer of dust.

She opened one of the drawers and pulled out the file she came for. Then she quietly closed it and turned to leave.

Outside, Assistant Quinn was still standing near the door, clearly worried. His hands were fidgeting, and his face was pale.

Lilith walked past him calmly. As she did, she spoke without looking at him.

"Tell someone to clean this office properly," Lilith said, her voice calm but firm.

"Of course, Miss Lilith!" Assistant Quinn replied quickly, nodding his head with a nervous smile.

Without another word, Lilith returned to her old desk. She pulled out the chair and sat down, as if she had never left. Everything felt the same but also different.

She opened the company dashboard on her screen and began checking the current status of projects. Her eyes moved carefully over the reports, budget sheets, and emails from different departments.

But even as her fingers moved across the keyboard, her mind kept drifting.

Lilith saved the final file and stood up. Her heels clicked softly as she walked toward Assistant Quinn’s desk, holding a few printed documents in her hand.

"Miss Lilith?" Quinn looked up, confused, his eyes wide.

"This one needs his signature," she said, placing the papers gently on the edge of his desk.

"But... the boss isn’t around," he replied quickly, almost as if he was trying to stop her.

Lilith smiled slightly, calm as ever. "A digital sign is fine too," she said, pulling out her phone. "Let me call him."

She pressed the call button.

Ring.

Ring.

Assistant Quinn’s throat tightened. His heart dropped to his stomach as he stared at the screen lighting up on her phone.
