Destroy My Life In You
Chapter 62: Ravenna X Nyx

Chapter 62: Ravenna X Nyx

All eyes were on the little silhouette spouting rage upon them, as it could devour them into ashes.

"Does she get this wild when angry?" Zeke whispered to his brother, Seth, his eyes displaying a slight fear and amusement.

Seth gulped, clearly scared. "This? You call this wild? It’s just the beginning." He breathed in a full amount of air then continued. "She rarely gets angry, and when she does... all hell breaks lose. It’s like... how do I say this... Yes! It’s like she becomes someone else, and if not calmed down or restrained... someone will get hurt."

Zeke narrowed his eyes, his hands folded on his chest. "She isn’t strong enough to even hurt a pup, let alone centuries old vampires and wolves."

Seth shook his head and took a step behind Luke, but his attention was fully on Ravenna. "You don’t understand Zeke. She... she’s... a mystery that even Zander and Finn are yet to unravel."

Both Zeke and Luke turned to him, curiously gazing at him, waiting for an explanation.

"What do you mean?" Luke questioned with a straight face.

Seth was about to reply, but something stopped him. It was not just him, but everyone in the warehouse got alerted except for Ravenna, who was too immersed in her rage to sense anything.

"There are many of them," Finn empty voice resonated, his eyes glowing red.

Zeke, Seth, and Luke moved closer to the others, forming a circle around Ravenna and Alaric, but their backs turned, awaiting the impending war that would begin any second.

"Take her out of here," Zander spoke up, adressing Alaric.

Alaric who had been silent all this while did not flinch nor say a word. He seemed to be in a trance, or rather contemplating something deeply.

Zander and Finn shared a brief gaze before Finn approached Ravenna and was about to hold her hand when it was stopped midway.

"Where are you taking me? To be a bait in some other great plan of yours?" Ravenna shoved Finn’s hand back and took a step away from him. "Unfortunately, I’m not interested. Either you kill me or let me walk away."

"Venna, please, we’ll talk later. Just come with..."

"No!" She exclaimed angrily, and as she was about to brew more rage, she caught scents of a large number of vampires.

It was then she understood why they wanted to get her out of the warehouse. There was going to be a one-time battle , and she knew there was no way she could survive if she decided to stay.

Ravenna was still lost in thoughts when something flashed them unexpectedly, heading towards Alaric. It was Jareth. Unfortunately for him, he had gone for the wrong person.

Jareth was held by his neck, left floating mid-air, and no matter how much he tried to free himself, he couldn’t. It was like he was held up by chains of hell, painful and hot, bringing unmatched agony to him. His cries were the proof of his suffering. But what confused was how a mere strangulation could make a centuries old vampire experience such torment. It was horrifying watching as the man’s face went pale and became white like a paper, though he was still breathing.

Ravenna stared unblinkingly, waiting for Alaric to release him, but the man knew nothing about the phrase letting go. Swiftly and fast, he sank his claws into Jareth’s chest, then his entire hand. His movements became slow as he blankly stared at nowhere in particular, squeezing Jareth’s heart, increasing his pain a thousand fold, before he gouged it out and completely crushed it.

Jareth’s pale corpse fell to the ground with a thud, snapping Ravenna from the shock. Of it was ruthlessness, no one could match him. He was not the Vampire King for nothing. He was fit for it.

Silently, Alaric went went out of the warehouse, and for sure, a vampire army surrounded the area, with an order to kill everyone. He let one dangerous roar, bringing the vampires who were on the front line to the ground before starting the attack. His moves were invisible to the eye, and within a minute, a quarter of the vampires were lying lifeless to the ground.

Back in the warehouse, Ravenna was left with the three werewolf brothers, while Finn and Zander joined Alaric.

"Let’s go." Zeke led the way, and the others followed, including Ravenna.

They found their way out and had been able to run away from the place after fighting some of the vampires. Twilight had hit while the quartet of wolves were surrounded by the dense forest. They could not run in their wolf forms because of a certain troublesome person who could not shift.

"How the hell did I even get to this place?" Ravenna murmured under her breath.

"Shouldn’t we be asking you that?" Zeke retorted, followed by a sneer. "You ran out of the house like a delude person after almost rendering it to the ground. You were so fast that none of us could catch up with you. How did you even do that?"

Ravenna frowned, trying to recollecting such an event, but the memories were too vague to make out clearly. "I..."

"Hello, there," a feminine voice interrupted them, catching them off guard.

Only Luke did not flinch as if he already knew who it was. "It’s Nyx."

Zeke and Seth rolled their eyes in unison while Ravenna was still on alert mode since she didn’t know who this Nyx was.

Nyx slowly descended from the tress and landed in front of them with a hollow smile plastered on her lips.

"When did you get here?" Zeke went on with his inquiry, staring at her suspiciously.

"I never wanted to be here in the first place." Nyx walked closer, but her attention was entirely on Ravenna.

Ravenna, on the other hand, had her fist clenched tightly and desperately wanted to punch someone, or rather that woman. She could not forget that face she had seen in the arms of Alaric.

"Hey! Raven! Are you fine? Hey!" Seth called out several times until she snapped out of her reverie, only for him to receive the scariest glare ever from her. Her eyes seemed to be burning with something. He knew that gaze too well.

"Quite intimidating. Nice," Nyx chuckled lightly and moved closer to Ravenna. "I guess you don’t like me." It was a statement.

"Is it that clear?" Ravenna spoke in a low voice as she bit the side of her cheeks.

"As the daylight," Nyx did not flinch from her glare and rather enjoyed it, something evil cooking in her mind. It was time for her to pay back Alaric for how he had treated her some days ago. He would male him realize she was not one to mess with. "Rest assured dear, I’m zero percent interested in your man."

Ravenna narrowed her eyes, showing she didn’t trust her words.

"I can vouch for her. She hates Alaric more than anyone."

"Yes, Raven. Zeke is right."

Ravenna bit her lip and softened her gaze a little, though she was still not satisfied.
