Demon Hunter and His Cabin
Chapter 252 - Chapter 252 Chapter 252 New Moon City

Chapter 252: Chapter 252 New Moon City Chapter 252: Chapter 252 New Moon City “Shut your mouth!”

A staff member leading the group snapped.

“Haha, I’m just thinking about their welfare,” said the young man, his gaze sweeping across everyone present.

“A few of you look like something, the rest are trash.”

“Ptooey!”

The young man spat a thick wad of phlegm onto the ground, this time making no attempt to hide the scorn on his face.

“Come and have a look, then hurry up and roll back to where you came from.”

“What we need are qualified Demon Hunters, reliable comrades, not cowards who only know how to cry and run away.”

“Who are you calling a coward?!”

A burly man in the crowd couldn’t stand the young man’s disdainful eyes and couldn’t help but stand up and roar.

The young man shrugged, “See, I don’t even need to name names, cowards will reveal themselves.”

“The weak resort to words, while the strong…”

The young man’s eyes lingered on Roger for a moment.

“Use their fists!”

“Damn bastard!”

The burly man pushed through the crowd, his fists clenched as he charged forward.

Just as the conflict was about to erupt, a deep voice came from afar.

“All of you, stop!”

“Mr. Blake.”

Someone nearby said.

“He’s the executive president of the Hunters Guild, I’ve seen him a few times at the guild before, a powerful Blood Hunter.”

Henrik introduced him to Roger in a low voice.

“Robert!”

Blake fixed his gaze on the young man who had instigated the provocation, “Hand over your current work and head to the outskirts of New Moon City, maybe there you can release all that excess emotion and energy!”

“Why should I?!”

The young man known as Robert raised his head, and Roger noticed a special tattoo under his neck.

Henrik apparently noticed it too.

“I didn’t expect this Robert to come from the Angolasen Family.”

Henrik muttered softly.

“That family is quite renowned in the Bordeaux region. It’s said that many years ago, they even had a Demon Hunter in the family, though the bloodline has thinned out over the years.”

“Even so, nearly every generation births a Blood Hunter.”

“It is a powerful family.”

“This guy’s potential is not bad, otherwise he wouldn’t have the family crest tattooed on his neck at such a young age.”

Facing direct challenge, Blake’s eyes slightly lowered, “Either head to the outskirts of New Moon City or roll back to your family.”

His gaze swept over Robert once before turning to the rest, “New Moon City is not Bordeaux; it’s far more lethal here, but likewise, the monsters here can also make you stronger!”

Blake’s voice wasn’t loud, but his words surged with a special power, and everyone felt invigorated upon hearing him.

“Chairman Blake, don’t worry, we came here prepared!”

The speaker was the burly man who had just argued with Robert.

Blake nodded and motioned for everyone to continue forward, then he led a group away.

“Please follow me, everyone.”

No one paid any more attention to Robert; the staff member continued to lead the group away.

Roger and Henrik walked behind, he looked back and saw Robert muttering curses as he changed his equipment.

“Ingmar said that the outskirts of New Moon City have always been dangerous. Going there is not something to be happy about.”

After walking for a while, a long stretch of grey-white stone wall appeared in front of everyone.

“Entering here is New Moon Inner City, I hope everyone can be mindful that every ordinary person you meet here is a live individual, and it’s strictly forbidden to discuss anything unrelated to New Moon City.”

“After entering, there will be guild staff responsible for reception, and you will receive a map of the area surrounding New Moon City, then you must go to the designated places according to the missions you each have.”

“Only New Moon City is relatively safe here.”

“Good luck to you all!”

Everyone’s hand was stuffed with a goatskin booklet that contained not just the map of New Moon City and its surroundings, but also the distribution of the main buildings within the city.

With equipment supplies, medical support, and also pubs specially for rest, standing on the street, Roger felt as if he had traveled through a time tunnel and arrived in Bordeaux more than a hundred years ago.

Through an iron gate, the real New Moon City came into view.

The ground paved with stone bricks, the color tone of the buildings in the city was mainly grey, and tall stone buildings stood everywhere. There weren’t many people on the street, and most of them were wearing grey linen clothes.

They hurried along and, when they saw the ornaments on Roger and the others, would quickly lower their heads and walk away swiftly.

“Although they can communicate with us normally, there is a natural repulsion against us here,” someone said at the side.

“But if it weren’t for the guild’s missions, who would care about the life and death of these things?”

Roger turned sideways to look, and the speaker was the Burly Man. Seeing Roger’s glance, the Burly Man chuckled and puffed out his chest.

“Don’t mind these guys, they’re different from the ones above. As long as it’s not too excessive…”

The Burly Man’s face showed a meaningful smile, “Sometimes a change of taste is quite nice.”

“Don’t take them too seriously.”

“They’re just a bunch of freaks.”

Roger remained silent, his peripheral vision sweeping across, but he was surprised to find that most people’s faces revealed a look similar to that of the Burly Man.

Each person he saw on the street seemed no different from the NPCs in a game to the Demon Hunters who came from Bordeaux.

“I’m Perkins, a Demonic Hunter from the Loke Family. If you have any tough missions, you can ask for my help.”

The Burly Man said, introducing himself.

“Although this place looks worn and outdated, and its facilities can’t compare to Bordeaux, I assure you, if you stay here for some time, you will definitely fall in love with this world.”

“Because here, power represents the rules. Apart from a few ironclad rules we must follow, we can do anything we want!”

“This isn’t Armenia; they don’t have the protection of the law, so…”

The corner of the Burly Man’s mouth split into a grin.

“I think you’ll understand.”

Although Roger didn’t know what the man in front of him had done before, through that slightly vicious smile, he seemed to see the blood and filth lying beneath.

He finally understood why the Demon Hunters battled monsters in New Moon City but were still despised by the residents here.

Because most of the Demon Hunters didn’t regard the residents here as people. To someone like Perkins, coming here might not be for missions at all.

But to satisfy some dark, twisted desire of his own.

Hunting monsters was just opportunistic.

“Let’s go, to the village mentioned in the mission,” Henrik said. He obviously was also uncomfortable with the atmosphere around.

Roger nodded, and the two didn’t linger in New Moon City any longer but found the carriage responsible for the mission transportation.

The sound of horse hooves echoed, and Roger sat in the carriage watching the scenery outside flash by. The whole city seemed to perfectly replicate Bordeaux from over a hundred years ago.

But what was eerie was that underneath this seemingly true exterior, Roger felt an extreme falseness.

Everything before his eyes was like a bubble.

Pop it with a poke!
