Death… And Me -
Chapter 3556: Rusty
Chapter 3556: Rusty
It didn’t take long for the other groups from all universes to do the same. Not only that, as the land ahead stretched, the groups began to grow apart from each other. The initial clusters of groups from the same Universe slowly dispersed too. Everyone wanted to look for their own opportunities, and staying together with other groups would only cause unnecessary chaos. Whether they would stumble on treasures or not would depend on their luck, and most experts believed that luck was also part of one’s strength.
Derravan saw the various groups running away, and he didn’t want to be left behind. "Alright, we are going to pick up the pace. I don’t want to see any other group ahead of ours, understood?"
His Space-Time Realm companions bitterly smiled but nodded. As for the twins’ group, they were already running... at a crazy fast speed!
*Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang...*
Each step they took was a powerful stomp to the ground due to the gravity, and yet, they seemed unfazed by the necessary effort of it all. Even Rifindio, who didn’t have a Celestial Bloodline or body, was feeling relatively fine. He wasn’t an idiot. It wasn’t just his Camazotz Bloodline, but mostly the improvement of Kentucky’s bloodline instead. And Elsie... she was taking it leisurely.
"Not that fast!" Derravan quickly ran over, and so did the other three Divinity Realm experts. The ones in the Space-Time Realm, however, were having to go all out just to keep up with them. That made them even more shocked. If Derravan hadn’t told the twins’ group to stop, they would definitely move as fast as the most powerful groups around, especially those with only Divinity Realm experts in their midst.
"Ehhh..." Rean looked back at those Space-Time Realm guys who were holding them down. "Well, if you say so..."
And so the twins’ group did indeed reduce their speed, which allowed the whole group to follow. They could still see some other groups around, but nowhere near as many as there were at the entrance. The various groups spread more and more.
With the disappearance of the Golden Light, everyone’s Divine Senses returned, although they weren’t capable of going far due to the suppression of cultivation, which was set at the Transition Realm. To add insult to the injury, even that was further suppressed by the environment. The furthest Derravan could see was just barely past five kilometers.
The twins, with their much stronger souls, could see further, up to twelve or so kilometers. Obviously, they didn’t tell Derravan that.
Hours went by, and Roan began to grow impatient. They could move so much faster if they wanted, but the dead weight behind was holding them down. He spread his Divine Sense, and soon confirmed that only two other groups were still within his Divine Sense Range. Looking into the distance, he could see the tiny silhouettes of those groups, thanks to this expanse of completely flat land.
"Fuck this shit, this is far enough, let’s get out of here," Roan spoke. Before anyone could say anything, his feet stomped the ground with even more strength, and he shot forward like an arrow.
Derravan took a moment to process that. "What?! Are you trying to die? Come back right now!"
Yet, not only did Roan not stop, but Rean and the others shrugged, increasing their speed as well. The only reason they were putting up with this farce was so other groups wouldn’t target them after entering the palace. Now that pretty much all groups from the various universes had spread far and wide, there was no need to worry about such things anymore.
Derravan was furious with how blatantly the twins’ group ignored his orders. He immediately gathered his laws and circulated his Divine Origin Energy, catching up to the twins in a second. "I said stop!"
Fire Element and Laws came crashing down on the twins’ group. To be more precise, on Roan, who had fled first. He didn’t hold back, intending to kill Roan right there and then to make an example of him. That way, Rean and the others wouldn’t try to flee again.
Roan narrowed his eyes, turning in Derravan’s direction. He was already merciful enough not to have killed Derravan first before leaving. Yet, the idiot just had to come and make a move, courting death... literally!
Seeing that, Rean and the rest immediately stepped out of the way. Roan had been in a bad mood for having to move so slowly, so there was no way they would try to stop him. It was like walking on the sidewalk, and someone much slower was right in front of you. Yet, you can’t pass that person because there is no space, so you start getting annoyed. That was how Roan felt during these first hours in the Golden Palace.
Roan’s Sixth Stage of Scythe Intent immediately burst out, followed by his Dark Red Lightning. Two Elemental Intent Scythes appeared on each of his hands before moving both in a cross pattern. The Major Laws of Light and Dark, an unmistakable indication of a fully fledged Peak Stage Divinity Realm Expert, also appeared.
"Know your place, ant!"
’Red Death, Death Cross!’
Derravan’s eyes opened wide, and the sense of imminent danger washed over him. All his instincts screamed that he absolutely shouldn’t fight Roan. In the same cultivation realm, he was simply no match. No, it wasn’t even a competition!
*Slash!*
Roan’s Slash cut through Derravan’s attack as if it didn’t even exist! Fortunately for Derravan, he was an old monster with tons of experience. The moment he felt something was wrong, he immediately moved out of the way. Roan’s attack failed to instantly kill him, but he was still hit on the lower part of his body. No amount of Divine origin Energy was enough to stop the destruction power of that attack. Both of his legs were cut, and Roan’s Dark Element instantly corroded the legs that lost contact with Derravan’s Dantian’s Energy.
Clicli, Ambev, and Ritey, the other three Divinity Realm experts from Derravan’s group, rushed over. They had never expected Roan to hide his real cultivation. First of all, how did he even do that? It shouldn’t be possible in the Golden Palace... Well, that’s because Roan didn’t hide anything, obviously.
*Zum!*
However, before they even got halfway, their instincts told them to stop. By Roan’s side, Rean, Kentucky, and Celis’s Laws gathered. The Major Laws of Light and Dark for Rean and Kentucky and the Major Laws of Wood and Absorption for Celis. All proof of Peak Stage Divinity Realm Experts!
Those three were in the Divinity Realm, but they weren’t in the Peak Stage like Derravan. Not only that, they saw the attack earlier. Roan didn’t win against Derravan because Derravan was taken by surprise. Roan made sure to show his hand right from the start when Derravan attacked. And yet, Derravan lost so miserably.
"Aren’t you coming?" Rean smiled brightly, extending his hand and making several Elemental Intent Swords appear around him.
"Sixth Stage of Intent..." Clicli and the others swallowed hard. They noticed that when Roan attacked, but at that moment, he was still only one person. Perhaps if they joined forces, they could force him back. Yes, they weren’t confident they could kill Roan at all, such was the difference they felt with their Divine Senses. Now, there were two with Sixth Stage Intent users, plus two Demon Beasts with laws no weaker than the twins. There was no way they would try anything. That would be suicide!
As for the Space-Time Realm experts... They didn’t want to die yet.
Roan approached Derravan, his expression dark. "You managed to dodge in the last moment. Guess it has been way too long since I used my laws, so I’m a bit rusty. So be it. Let’s get over with it."
