Death… And Me -
Chapter 3555: Costly Trip
Chapter 3555: Costly Trip
Derravan had the twins fly in front, passing through the gate a few minutes later. It wasn’t possible to see inside, as a bright golden light emanated from inside, and Divine Sense couldn’t get through. Derravan didn’t mind, forcing the twins to continue.
Soon, the twins’ group began to pass through the gate, as did several other groups. Many were doing the same thing as Derravan, sending their weakest members in front first, just in case something happened. It’s just that most of those going in front were still Space-Time Realm experts, while the twins’ group only had one.
Regardless of how the groups moved forward, one thing became very clear. Those with similar colors stayed relatively close to their universe members. Naturally, on the twins’ side, all their surroundings were full of Green Light experts from Universe F956.
Finally, the twins passed through the Golden Gate, appearing inside the Golden Palace.
*Vuf!*
As soon as they did, the twins’ group immediately plummeted from the skies. The same happened with everyone around, including Derravan and his companions, when they entered behind the twins. It was quite a weird scene. The gate, being thousands of kilometers wide, was also just as big in height. Pretty much no one entered the gate through the ground, so now you had a rain of experts falling from the skies as they appeared inside.
*Bang, bang, bang, bang!*
Fortunately for everyone there, they were all in the Space-Time Realm and above. Those below that cultivation level were almost nonexistent. They slammed their feet on the ground, creating tiny craters all around. Still, none of them were injured. Simply falling from heights was far from enough to cause any damage to them. But then, it surged. They felt their bodies grow heavier and heavier.
Derravan’s group, obviously, fell down just like the rest. There were some exceptions, though. Flying Demon Beasts! They didn’t need to use Divine Energy or any other kind of cultivation energy to fly. They could simply use their wings. So, as soon as Kentucky noticed everyone falling, he quickly flew down and caught Rean and the others.
"So heavy!" Yet, Kentucky was surprised by what happened next. Everyone’s weight seemed to have multiplied many times when he caught them, and as much as he flapped his wings, he couldn’t prevent his fall. This was happening to everyone.
"The gravity in this place is altered. That’s enough, Kentucky," Roan said, jumping from Kentucky’s back and landing on the ground a moment later.
Rean and the others did the same. They all landed on the ground, creating tiny craters around them due to the impact. None of them were injured, though.
With that, Kentucky finally managed to keep himself in the air, albeit with quite some difficult. "This is too tiresome, I’m coming down!" Then, he landed as well.
Derravan was already there, his expression not very good. It wasn’t about the twins’ group. Instead, it is the fact that his abilities are much better displayed in the air, so not being able to fly was actually a disadvantage for someone like him. "Let’s not waste time and move ahead." Of course, he wouldn’t simply give up there.
Gravity was truly very high, and it forced most of the experts to use their Divine Energy or Divine Origin Energy to move forward. As a consequence, pretty much all Demon Beasts immediately returned to their humanoid forms, as it was a lot lighter. Kentucky also followed suit.
There were a few there who were having it easier, though. Elsie was a very good example. Her entire existence was pretty much just a core. Her Body Project didn’t really have any weight, so she only had to deal with the weight of her core, which wasn’t much to start with.
The dust of the falls began to settle. Not only that, but the golden light that was blinding everyone seemed to diminish the further they moved. It took a few more minutes, but the experts finally managed to see where they were. Looking ahead, the twins saw an endless extension of empty land as far as the eye could reach.
"Sure enough, it changed again," Derravan said as they continued to walk.
"What do you mean, senior?" Rean asked in front.
Derravan didn’t mind explaining. "You should have done your homework, you know? The Palace always changes every time it opens. I was here last time, and the entrance area was actually a huge sea. It took me weeks until I finally found some land. However, I was able to fly back then. Now, it seems like flying is out of the question."
"Shouldn’t we speed ahead then? If we keep walking, it would take years to cover the same distance you did," Kentucky commented.
Derravan obviously knew that. Unfortunately, the gravity was really holding them down. He was still relatively fine since he was in the Divinity Realm. The same could be said of his companions in the same realm. However, the six Space-Time Realm experts of his group seemed to be struggling to just walk.
The weird thing was that the twins’ group was pretty much made of Elemental Space Realm experts, most of them in the Initial Stage. Yet, they seemed just fine. "How are you able to deal with this huge gravity?" One of the Space-Time Realm experts from Derravan’s group asked.
"Body Cultivation Techniques and Demon Beasts and Plants," Roan gave a short answer.
Those guys came from a powerful background, so they also had their own body cultivation techniques. Yet, it didn’t seem to be enough to even match the twins’ group and their lower cultivation. It was quite humiliating.
Derravan didn’t mind, though. The stronger these ants he ’recruited’ were, the better they would be to test the waters ahead. "Stop complaining and just drive more Divine Energy to move. That’s why I told you all to leave a lot of Divine Energy Stones in your Spatial Rings. We can’t access our pocket Dimensional Realms, but the rings aren’t a problem."
Of course, they just started moving, so everyone was still full of energy in their Cores and Dantians. Nonetheless, to make sure they would always stay in top condition, they followed Derravan’s orders and started absorbing the Divine Stones while they continued. This was bound to be a costly trip.
