Chapter 64: A VISIT TO THE NURSE’S OFFICE

"I thought if I stay in the academy, I can finally proof toy father that I can still be useful"

"Leo, it not about what you’ve done, it about what’s inside" Kakashi said pointing to her chest. "You lived your life blaming your self for something that is not your fault, you don’t need to feel that way."

Kakashi turned back and then stared at the sky. "When I was younger,my mom used to say I was special, I thought it was because I had the ability to control lightning. But after I came to the outside world, I realized something. It’s not our ability or deeds that makes us special, we are all special because we were born into this world. The world isn’t such a bad place, it’s just that they are so many bad people, but we can change it"

"What do you mean?" Leo asked, confused by Kakashi’s statement.

"I mean what you did wasn’t right but I knew you had no other choice, I would have done the same if it was me" Kakashi sighed. "But your mom isn’t here, your father doesn’t seem to care. Don’t you think it’s time to be free?"

"What do you mean by that?"

"I mean you should forget about them and move forward, be yourself" Kakashi turned to Leo and held her shoulder. "I haven’t known you long enough to really say this but I like the Leo that’s in front of me compared to the other one, and I think you should just be yourself"

Kakashi tried to smile and this time he successfully did it, a genuine smile!. Leo felt her heart skipped a beat.

" So w... What’s was your real name?" Kakashi asked trying to change the subject.

"M... My what?" Leo blushed.

"Come on, tell me. I promise I won’t tell anyone" Kakashi said with a smile to cheer her up.

"I.. it’s Mallory but don’t call me that!!!"

"Mallory, huh?. So cute"

"You won’t think it’s cute when you know the meaning" Leo muttered.

"I’m going to bed" Kakashi said and walked into the bathroom, washed up and came out minutes later. "Good night"

Few minutes after Kakashi laid down on his bed, he felt a gentle touch. He opened his eyes to find Leo beside his bed,but this time, she was wearing a black singlet and a jean shorts.

"Can I sleep with you tonight?" Her voice was like a silent whisper in the night.

Kakashi was still sleepy, so he didn’t really hear anything,he just nodded and went back to sleep. Leo slowly slipped under his blanket and held him from behind, her thought was still the same.

_I finally found someone who accepted me for the way I am_

"You’re lucky to be alive with just a few burns" Nurse Violet said as she slowly unwrapped Kakashi bandages. "Is Leo okay?, I was hoping to see him"

After he passed out the previous night, it was too late to take him to the infirmary so he was told to visit the nurse the next morning.

"You think?" Kakashi smiled and scratched his head. " For a moment, I thought I was going to die. Leo seems to be in a much better condition"

Violet folded the bandages, put them in the trashcan and stared at the burns, gently rubbing it with her palm and surprisingly, it was slowly healing. She smiled, enjoying every moment of it, the sensation she felt was something she couldn’t explain.

_I must have him_ She thought to her self as she stared at his handsome face. "What’s important is that you didn’t. I would hate to see someone so full of life waste away"

"Okay...."

He didn’t know how to respond to that.

After almost an hour of rubbing, Kakashi was now completely healed, his burnt skin had all came back to normal without leaving a single scar or something to remember it by.

"Leave the bandage for a few days before removing it" Nurse Violet said.

It was obvious that Kakashi didn’t know he could heal himself and neither did Miss Tokoyami, until she finally understands his ability, it was up to her to keep it to herself. She wouldn’t want anyone to take her specimen from her.

Kakashi stood up from the stool and bow. "I’m sorry for any trouble"

"Come on, it’s nothing" Nurse Violet laughed. "It my job to make sure that every supernatural in this academy is in good health, and that includes you"

"It just that, I only came here yesterday and I’ve been here three times already"

What Kakashi said made her recall on a similar experience.

"You know, you’re not the only one who comes here often. There was someone who visited me, he was always injured" Nurse Violet smiled and turned back to her desk. "It’s lonely sometimes, since I quit my job as a demon hunter I spent my time studying demons and slowly, I grew obsess over it. And since then, everyone just sees me as a freak, they think I’m unstable, they are all scared of me, only one person is kind enough to visit me and because of some personal reason we don’t talk much. It might sound selfish and weird but I’m glad you always get hurt, because you’re the only one who visits me"

Kakashi who was about to leave stopped and turned back. No wonder Charlotte left him when he came to the infirmary, and why he wasn’t brought to here when he was hurt the day before. He walked back to the bed and sat on it.

"I don’t have anywhere to be so why don’t we chat, Violet?" Kakashi said with a wide smile.

Violet wiped the drop of tear that was about to drop from her eye, she turned her chair to Kakashi with a smile on her face.

"So what do you want to talk about?" She asked.

"You were a demon hunter before, so tell me. What was it like?"

"Hmm... I don’t really have much to say" Nurse Violet sighed, feeling a little frustrated. "During my demon hunting times, I didn’t really have anything worth telling"

"Then what about the story of how you came to the academy?"

Nurse Violet twitched, she looked reluctant.

"There will be a meeting today, maybe another time"
