Chapter 61: Going to B City

At 12 noon, Mel arrived at the VIP room. She saw all her friends were there, except Mr. Always Late. As usual, Harry was always late.

"Hi everyone... have you ordered anything?" She greeted them cheerfully.

They are all smiling when Mel’s arrived.

"We’ve already ordered for everyone, so you don’t have to wait any longer..." Windy said.

"Thanks, Windy." She sits next to Sam, and opposite them sat Anna and Windy.

Mel adds, "Guys, great choice! Finding a place as awesome as this is restaurant! I haven’t been to the port district in a long time. The last time I was around here when I was a kid."

She doesn’t have much memory of the port district’s beach because she only passed through this area when she came here with her parents. And now, what she saw before her eyes amazed her.

It turns out, city J has a beach as cool as this too. This beach is as beautiful as a beach in Bali Island that she visited a few years ago.

Mel enjoys the view from the large glass windows that directly lead to the white sandy beach. Her eyes were instantly refreshed when she saw the vast blue sea. The sun is very bright, but the air temperature is very comfortable, not too cold nor too hot. It felt like she wanted to swim.

"Yeah... this place is pretty awesome, suitable for those who are always in the city, like us. Also, I read from social media the food pretty delish. I can’t wait to try their specialty food," Anna said.

Mel turns her gaze to her friends.

"Me too," Windy said.

"I wonder why most people give it five stars... Is it really that good?" Sam ask.

"We’ll find out soon enough, guys..." Windy said diplomatically.

The food talks make them even hungrier. Everybody is silent, waiting for the food. The pleasant smell coming from the kitchen makes their stomach growling wildly. The growl’s broken the silence, and everybody is laughing.

"Although I don’t really like seafood, I think I’m too hungry, and the smell is too good to give it just a fair review," Mel suddenly said.

"By the way... where is Mr. Always late? Why he hasn’t arrived yet?" Mel continued. She starts to worry Harry wouldn’t come because now he already late 10 minutes.

"Sam, call him, tell him we’ve ordered the food, and I will eat his food if he’s not coming in 10 minutes," Anna told Sam with a grin.

"Guys, don’t worry about him. He deliberately comes late. He is so kind to volunteer to settle the bill for us..." Windy said.

"Yeeeaaah... you know me so well, Ms. Windy." Mr. Always late, Harry finally arrive, he sat beside Mel. He adds, "Don’t worry about money, guys. Eat as much as you can. It’s on me."

They all laugh at him.

"Boss, who are you here with? I didn’t see your car outside." Harry suddenly asked Mel.

Mel, who was looking at her cellphone, suddenly stiffened. In her heart, she was cursing Harry for being too talkative. She thought quickly to find the correct answer so her friends wouldn’t suspect anything.

After trying to find any excuse, she slowly lifted her face and looked at Harry. She said... "I took a taxi." This is the best excuse she could find. Phew!

She couldn’t say to them that a handsome man dropped her here. If she does, her friends might turn into savage people and skin her alive just to force her to tell about Andrew. She secretly laughed at her thought.

Funny thinking aside, Mel realizes she is not yet ready to tell them about Andrew. Mel knows she and Andrew are so close and might share the same feeling, but they are not a couple yet. Her relationship status with Andrew still not clear.

Mel could only sigh silently remember her snail progress with the dangerous man’s. She really hoped that the dangerous man could confess his feelings to her soon. But unfortunately, the dangerous man seems to be holding back, which makes her impatient.

Sometimes she thinks about telling Andrew her feelings first. But, where is her pride as a woman if she has to say first? So she threw the idea out of her mind and holding back.

She believed Andrew liked her too. So, for now, she will wait.

Not long after, their food was served by a waitress.

Their eyes immediately sparkled when they saw a variety of boil and grilled seafood. Grill lobster, crab, shrimp, squid, and clams smothered in a special sauce that tasted very delicious. Plus boiled corn and boiled potatoes as a compliment.

The restaurant serves the food uniquely. The foods are served on top of the table, without using plates or other cutlery. They also eat with their hands. This is new for Mel, but she enjoys it because she feels like eating with families. Her best friends are not just friends to her. They are her family.

Mel can enjoy the food even though this is not the best on her list, but this seafood really delish. She praised her friends who had recommended this restaurant, the food, and scenery really fantastic. She will definitely come back here with Andrew.

Mel, suddenly remembering Andrew. She finished eating quickly then said goodbye to her friends.

She couldn’t wait to travel with Andrew to town B. This is their first time traveling together, even though it’s a round trip. But still, she felt excited.

She calls him.

Meanwhile, in the car, Andrew, who was resting his eyes, suddenly felt his cellphone vibrate. He took the cellphone and smiled, seeing ’My Little Girl’ written on his cellphone screen.

"Mel..." he said, then sitting up straight.

"Andrew?" Mel was confused to hear his hoarse voice. He sounded like he just woke up.

"Hmm... are you done?" He glances at his watch, 1.30 PM. ’She meets her friends so fast?’ he thought.

"Yes, I’m in front of the restaurant. Where are you?"

"I’m in the parking lot. Wait over there, I will come to you..."

"Oh..." Mel answered, then turned off her cellphone.
