Cucking The Demon King
Chapter 92: Divine Summon

Chapter 92: Divine Summon

A tense silence filled the room.

The realization that Rex was truly missing settled in, weighing heavily on everyone’s chest.

Lela and Cynthia were the most afraid out of the group.

Unlike Liam, who was strong and didn’t have a reason to fear—though they didn’t know this.

Unlike Emma, who was a noble with a legendary-grade blessing that could give her a fighting chance.

They were a lot more ordinary.

They had rare-grade blessings, which were impressive in their own right.

But against someone who could steal away a noble without a trace?

They felt vulnerable, like they were just sitting ducks exposed before him.

If the kidnapper came back...

Would they be next?

That thought sent a chill down their spines.

Lela instinctively wrapped her arms around herself, as though shielding herself from an unseen presence.

Cynthia rubbed her arms, trying to suppress the growing fear crawling up her skin.

For all they knew, the kidnapper could still be nearby.

He might even be watching them right now, waiting for the best moment to swoop in and strike.

Unbeknownst to them, that was exactly how the man wanted them to think.

While they were lost in fear, Emma suddenly stepped forward.

Her eyes narrowed, staring at the shirt on the bed.

Her fingers tightened into a fist.

Then, she spoke.

"I have a way to find the kidnapper," she said firmly.

Lela and Cynthia snapped their heads toward her, their faces filled with shock and disbelief.

"H-How?" Cynthia stammered.

Lela frowned. "The kidnapper left no trace of his presence. There’s nothing here. What can you do?"

They had never really seen Emma’s blessing at full power.

She was a noble, yes.

She had a legendary-grade blessing, yes.

But even she couldn’t possibly track someone who disappeared without a single clue, right?

Emma, however, remained calm.

"Don’t panic," She said, waving a hand at them.

Meanwhile, behind them, Liam simply watched her closely.

He was... surprised.

With how much she was shaken before, a part of him had expected her to eventually crumble under guilt after Rex’s disappearance.

But instead, she managed to remain composed, only focused on the task at hand.

Her hands weren’t even shaking, and her voice was loud and clear.

It was almost as if...

She was a completely different person.

His lips curled up slightly.

’Seemed like I had underestimated her.’ He thought.

Then—

Emma suddenly stretched out her hand.

Her voice rang out.

"Divine Summon!"

Immediately, a golden magic circle blossomed in front of her.

The runes etched into the circle glowed with an otherworldly brilliance, divine and beautifully interwoven with one another.

They shifted and flowed, like rivers of golden ink weaving an intricate story only the heavens could understand.

It felt sacred.

Even the air around it seemed to hum with energy, as if acknowledging its power.

Golden sparks kept flashing around it, flying violently in the air.

Lela and Cynthia shivered, the immense pressure oozing from the magic circle sending chills down their spine.

They could only stare on, their jaws dropping in awe.

The air suddenly shifted, and a pulse of divine energy spread through the room, sending a shiver down their spines.

They had never felt anything like this before.

"So this is Emma’s blessing..."

"The power of the future Knight King’s..."

They mumbled almost at the same time, taking a short glance at themselves.

The name of Emma’s blessing was Divine summoner, a legendary grade blessing which allowed to summon different creatures from the divine realm.

The divine realm was where the goddess was said to reside, along with all the other divine beings.

Each divine being was said to possess strange powers, so the fact that one person could randomly summon them spoke volumes of her power.

However, the drawback of the blessing was that it consumed enormous amount of mana.

The last time they saw Emma use it was at the academy.

Back then, Emma was still in her third year, and a final year student had challenged her to a duel.

However, no one really understood what happened in that duel, as the fight ended in a flash.

All they could remember was Emma placing her hands on the ground, summoning a short, golden knight.

Then in the next second, the other student was bleeding profusely, collapsed on the ground.

The gruesome scene alone terrified the others of Emma’s power, further solidifying her reputation within the academy.

Ever since then, no one dared challenge Emma to a duel.

If she could easily defeat a final year student while still in her third year, then except for the instructors, no other person stood a chance against her.

’I forgot how terrifying her blessing is... I should never make her an enemy.’ Cynthia thought, sweat rolling down her forehead.

No one understood why the young Silvagold always allowed Rex to bully her like he did, despite being far stronger, but they didn’t dare question it.

Liam, on the other hand, remained composed.

But—

He was still very impressed with the sheer power oozing from that magic circle.

’As expected of a legendary-grade blessing.’ He thought.

Still...

He was curious.

What exactly was this magic circle going to do?

What kind of creature was she about to summon?

The magic circle shone even brighter, flooding the room with golden radiance.

Then—

A figure slowly emerged from within it.

Compared to the grand size of the summoning circle, the creature that appeared was... tiny.

It wasn’t some massive knight or a powerful divine beast.

Instead—

It was a golden bug.

Its small body shimmered with a brilliant luster, its wings almost transparent, yet they seemed to be made of pure gold.

Tiny, shiny gold particles floated gently around it, dancing like glowing fireflies.

The light from its body reflected off the walls, filling the room with a soft, ethereal aura.

For a few moments, the bug hovered in the air.

It circled around, its delicate wings fluttering with a faint hum.

Then—

It gently landed on Emma’s shoulder.

A hush fell over the room.

The other three students simply stared in awe.

There was something strangely mesmerizing about the little creature.

A bug.

A tiny, insignificant insect.

And yet—

It was... beautiful.

No, beyond beautiful.

Its golden body glowed softly, giving off a feeling of serenity and divinity.

Its wings fluttered, leaving behind faint golden traces in the air, like trails of stardust.

Even its eyes, large and round, shone with a depth of wisdom that did not belong to a mere insect.

Lela and Cynthia couldn’t take their eyes off it.

They had never thought they’d admire a bug, of all things.

And yet, here they were—

Feeling jealous of Emma.

They wished the bug had landed on their shoulders instead.

Cynthia felt a strange urge to reach out and touch it, but she hesitated.

For some reason, she just knew doing that would end poorly for her.

Lela subtly clenched her fists.

’How cute... I want to pet it.’ She thought.

Even though Lela didn’t know exactly what this bug was, she could feel it—

This was no ordinary summon.

Liam, however, had very different thoughts.

His eyes narrowed as he observed the golden insect.

His mind was already racing.

[A divine creature... it really is a divine creature.]

A sultry voice suddenly echoed in his mind.

[That girl... is really powerful]

She added, amusement in her tone.

Liam barely paid attention to her words.

Instead, he focused his entire attention on the bug.

Something about it... felt off.

He couldn’t explain it.

It was small, yes.

But the pressure it exuded was subtle—so subtle that no one else in the room seemed to sense it.

Only Liam, with his keen instincts, felt something deeper.

And he wanted to know exactly what this creature was.

His eyes flickered, activating his [Eye of Truth] skill.

A transparent screen instantly appeared in his vision, scanning the golden bug.

However—

BZZZT!

A sudden red notification flashed before him.

[Error! Skill level too low to scan stats!]

Liam’s eyes widened in disbelief.

’Wha—!?’ He thought, his heart skipping a beat.

The level of [Eye of Truth] was too low to scan its stats?

That had never happened before.

He had always been able to scan creatures and people, even those stronger than himself.

But now—

A mere bug was beyond his skill’s reach?

That was... impossible.

Liam’s fingers tensed.

’Just what the hell is this thing? A divine creature... how terrifying.’ He mumbled inwardly, his back drenched with sweat.

As if sensing his suspicion, the bug suddenly turned toward him.

Its large, golden eyes locked onto his.

Liam felt a chill run down his spine.

For a split second, he swore he saw something—

A glimmer of intelligence.

A silent, knowing gaze.

Like it understood exactly what he had just tried to do.

Liam gulped.

’Did it... just notice me trying to scan it?’ He thought.

That shouldn’t be possible.

He had only gained his power quite recently, but no creature had ever being able to sense when he used [Eye of Truth].

And yet—

He couldn’t shake off the feeling that this bug knew.
