Cucking The Demon King -
Chapter 46: About to become a nightmare
Chapter 46: About to become a nightmare
But unfortunately, he didn’t have a choice than to swallow his curiosity and ignore the crystal.
He didn’t know why, but he felt that if he tried to invade the dream again, the backlash wouldn’t end with just a simple headache.
After that first encounter, he was sure whatever divine being within it was very powerful.. thousand times more powerful than current self.
Now that Lilith told him the truth about that dream, him not being able to get into it wasn’t like surprising anymore.
After all, divine beings were known to possess great power, far more than that of even the knight king.
’But still...’ Liam mumbled, feeling a strange, sicking feeling slowly rising up within him.
He really wanted to see what was going on within that dream, but due to his own weakness... he was forced to watch it from afar.
This fact only proved to him how weak he was compared to the strong forces of this world, and he would make sure he changed that.
Suddenly, the violet crystal started dissipating, vanishing into tiny particles.
’I guess the dream... is over.’ Liam mumbled, watching as the particles twinkled beautifully in the air, before evaporating into thin air.
[Yes, it is.]
’Now, unto the next.’ Liam thought, turning to the two orange crystals nearer to him.
He still felt quite disappointed that he wasn’t able to get into the violet one, but he could only forget about it for now, focusing instead on the ones within his capacity.
’Lilith, what does the colour of the crystals really mean?’ Liam asked, moving closer to an orange crystal.
Though he still didn’t have a body, he realised he was able to somehow draw his consciousness closer to whatever dream crystal he wished.
[Dream crystals are ranked according to the colours of the rainbow, depending on what type of dream it is.]
[But the red and indigo ones are a bit different; they represent nightmares.]
’Seven types of dreams... two representing nightmares, i never expected dreams to be something this deep.’ Liam thought, glancing another look at the one before him.
Judging by Lilith’s words, it meant this one was just a normal dream, nothing more and nothing less.
’Fine, let’s see what this is really about.’ He thought, immediately projecting his consciousness into the glowing crystal.
Just like the last time, he felt his mind drift into the air, his vision warping and distorting a few times and then finally... it stopped.
’It... worked.’ Liam mumbled, looking around his surroundings in awe.
He was in a large blue class room, with chairs neatly arranged around the place, and a huge blackboard hung on the wall in front of the classroom.
’I’m in class... how unexpected.’ He thought, staring down at his own body.
Unlike the last time, he now had a physical body—if it could even be called that.
His flesh was quite transparent and foggy, and despite the clothes on him, he still looked like a spirit.
It was like he was there, and at the same time, he wasn’t.
He could even see the floor through his arms and legs, a sight which seemed odd, yet extremely cool.
’I guess this can be called... my ’dream form.’ He mumbled, chuckling to himself.
However, he suddenly noticed a red haired youth lying on one of the chairs not too far from him.
The boy’s head faced upward, his eyes tightly shut, and a thin line of drool leaking from his lips as he snored.
"Rex?" Liam mumbled, easily recognising the boy lying in front of him.
Even if he couldn’t recognise his face, he could surely recognise that red hair anywhere.
He then took a second look at the classroom, before turning back to the sleeping figure of Rex.
’I see... so I’m not yet in the dream.’ He thought, his eyes narrowing slightly.
Somehow, he had managed to appear in front of the sleeping Rex in a kind of ethereal form.
He was sure this was all part of dream weaver’s power... and he couldn’t help but marvel at how amazing it was.
Being able to transverse the dream world, even appearing before the sleeping ’victim’, it was nothing short of a wonder!
’But still, to think Rex was the one having that dream. Sleeping in the classroom like this... I can only imagine how embarrassed he would be if others find out.’
He couldn’t help but wonder what exactly led to him falling asleep in class.
’Whatever, let’s see what exactly you’re dreaming about.’ He mumbled, his lips curling upwards.
His vision immediately warped once more, and he appeared right in the middle of the medical unit hallway.
’Huh?’ He mumbled, looking around him in confusion.
He easily recognised this hallway, as this was the same one he had his first squabble with Rex after transmigrating, which almost planted him in deep trouble.
His gaze soon caught sight of Rex, standing at the other side, standing with a smug smile on his face.
He had already activated his blessing, the light gloves glowing even more intensely than be remembered.
People were gathered around him, uttering words of praises at how powerful his blessing was.
Their flattered obviously worked, as the smirk on Rex’s face kept widening in pride, and he even puffed his shoulders.
However, what caught his attention the most was the person lying beneath the red haired boy.
It was a scrawny white haired boy, with dull red eyes and pale skin.
"I-I’m sorry... I’ll never cross my boundary again... please just forgive me..." The boy kept mumbling, tears flowing down from his eyes as he knelt before Rex.
"Hahaha." Rex suddenly burst into a loud laughter, and without warning, he slammed his fist into the face of the boy.
"Aghh!" The boy grunted, his body hurtling through the air from the force behind the punch.
He kept bouncing on the hard ground, before sliding to a halt... right beneath Liam’s feet.
’This is...’ Liam subconsciously froze, staring at the face of the boy lying beneath his feet.
"Hey! Who do you think you are to get in my way?!" Rex’s loud shout broke him out of his thoughts, and his face squeezed into a frown.
"Of course, what else was I expecting your dream to be?" Liam sarcastically muttered, taking another glance at the bruised white haired youth.
"You... should run... don’t try to fight him." The boy mumbled, swiftly running off to the side, crouching with his head buried in his knees.
However, Liam could see his shoulders rise and fall continuously, along with the silent of sobbing emanating from him.
’I know it’s just a dream... but still... this brings back a lot of memories.’ He thought, clicking his tongue.
"Didn’t you hear me the first time?" Rex muttered, stretching his hand towards Liam.
"I said... move out of my way!!" He shouted, and a thin blast of light immediately shot out of his palm.
Swoosh!
The blast flew through the air at insane speed, closing in on Liam within a split second.
However, it abruptly came to a halt merely a few inches from Liam’s face.
"W-what?!" Rex shouted, his jaws dropping to the ground in shock.
"Yeah, that’s right... this is just a dream." Liam mumbled, stretching a hand towards the frozen light beam.
He lightly flicked a finger, and the beam instantly shattered into tiny white particles, dissolving into thin air.
"And I can freely control everything that happens in this dream." He continued, his eyes narrowing at Rex.
"W-who... the hell are you...?" Rex mumbled, his back drenched in cold sweat.
He subconsciously moved backwards, his body shivering uncontrollably.
"Who am I huh?" Liam repeated his question, letting out a sarcastic chuckle.
"The real Liam, and not just a weak figment of your dreams." He continued, flashing a sinister smirk at the noble.
"I didn’t expect this though, that you’d create the weak version of me from the figment of your imagination... all so you could have a good dream."
"The human mind really is fantastic."
"Dream...? What do you mean dream... what do you mean by the real Liam...?" Rex mumbled, confused by what Liam was saying.
From his words, it was clear he hadn’t realized all this was just a dream, and in reality, things played out a lot differently.
Ever since that day he was humiliated, he had been having this same dream over and over again, and it was one of the newfound things he cherished about his sleep these days.
"Ohh... you haven’t realised it yet?" Liam muttered, placing a hand on his chin.
’Guess it makes sense... after all, this is a dream, and not everyone can tell the difference between dreams and reality.’ He thought.
He couldn’t help but be amazed at his own power once again; he was really standing in someone’s dream!
Even after confirming It, it still felt very insane.
’Too bad for you Rex, this sweet dream is about to become a nightmare.’
