Cucking The Demon King
Chapter 45: The violet crystal

Chapter 45: The violet crystal

A part of him felt like summoning the spin tab, trying out his luck once again to see if he could get another cool skill, but he resisted the urge, finding it unnecessary... at least for now.

His current skill set were already quite powerful as they were, all he needed to do was train and develop more on them, so he could properly adapt to his newfound power.

Besides, he planned on reserving his lust points, still aiming to reach a million, and purchase a legendary spin.

’Dream weaver.’ He thought, and a set of tabs immediately appeared before him, displaying the information on the skill.

[Dream Weaver (Level 1): Manipulate and control the dreams of your target.

Note: Host’s intelligence must be higher than the target’s before the skill can be activated.]

’Time to see what this skill is actually about.’ He thought, his eyes narrowing slightly.

’Activate skill.’ He mumbled, and immediately his vision warped, and everything went dark.

’What...?’ He mumbled, looking around in confusion.

But no matter what he did, he couldn’t see anything other than pitch black.

’I didn’t expect this.’ He thought, feeling a chill run down his spine.

He couldn’t even feel his body, neither could he see anything around him. It was almost like... he was back in the void, the same one that tormented him for many years.

[Relax...]

A gentle voice suddenly echoed in his mind, and like magic, all his worries and fears instantly died down.

’Lilith?’ He mumbled, his mind a bit more relieved at the sound of her sweet voice.

[There’s no need to panic. You’re not back in the void, what you’re seeing around you, is the ’dream world.’]

’Dream world...?’ Liam mumbled, subconsciously glancing at his surroundings again.

’Shouldn’t a ’dream world’ be... colourful? At least... not just darkness.’ He thought, in doubt about where he really was.

To him, dreams were nothing but a figment of someone’s imagination, whether good or bad, so he didn’t understand how a place called the ’dream world’ would simply be darkness.

He felt like there should at least be some substance within it, instead of it just being bleak.

[You’re getting this whole thing wrong.]

Lilith said, letting out a low sigh.

Liam simply kept quiet, waiting for her to explain the whole thing to him so he could understand.

[The reason you can see nothing is because you’re not in anyone’s dream.]

’What do you mean by that...?’ Liam couldn’t resist asking.

[As a lust demon, you can manipulate people’s dreams, but before that, you need to first get in one.]

’First get in one... get in a dream.’ Liam mumbled, taking a second look at his surroundings.

Now that he carefully observed it, he could sense something lying beyond the darkness around him.

It wasn’t just one thing actually, there was many. The feeling of some was very faint, like they were far beyond his reach, while that of some were stronger.

Suddenly, five crystals of varying colours appeared around him, glowing within the darkness.

Three out of them were like tiny specks, so far away that he could barely even see them from where he stood.

However, he could clearly see the glow emitting from them.

One had a dim red glow, while the second one had a bright yellow glow.

But what caught his attention the most was the third one, which was even farther than the other two, shining with a beautiful violet light.

’Are those by any chance... the dreams?’ He mumbled, turning to the two close rather close to him.

They were both orange in colour, but the glow from one was a bit dimmer compared to the other.

A part of him wanted to stretch his hand towards those strange crystals, but unfortunately, he had no physical body at the moment.

[Yes, these crystals around you... are indeed dreams.]

’Wow.’ Liam mumbled in awe, his gaze lingering on the violet crystals shining brightly in the distance.

Perhaps it was due to its colour which stood out among the others, but he felt somewhat attracted to it.

He couldn’t help but wonder what kind of dream was within it, and who exactly was having the dream.

Now that he thought about it, shouldn’t he be able to see and freely manipulate those dreams also, as long as he managed to get into them?

’Fine, then I choose to enter those ones.’ He thought, and suddenly, he felt his consciousness drift through the air, rapidly approaching one of the yellow crystal.

The crystal grew closer and closer to him, and his anticipation of what was within it grew.

But just as he was about to reach it, it felt like he struck an invisible wall, and he was immediately sent back to where he came from.

’Ugh...’ He grunted, feeling a sharp headache tear through his mind.

’What the hell was that...?’ He mumbled, the ringing sound in his mind getting louder with each passing second.

[ERROR!]

[Skill level too low to access dream!]

[ERROR!]

[Skill level too low to access dream!]

’W-what?!’ Liam thought in disbelief, shocked at the red notifications flashing across his eyes.

’Lilith... what is this supposed to mean?’ He mumbled, staring off into space.

If he had a face, he was sure it was currently squeezed into a deep frown.

[That...]

Lilith stuttered, but barely any words came out.

[You should avoid that kind of dream, especially when you’re still this weak.]

’Avoid? I still don’t understand.’ Liam mumbled. ’Why should I avoid it?’

[This is my fault... I should have told you this before.]

The demoness sighed.

Liam simply kept quiet, still confused about what she was saying.

[There are different kinds of dreams Liam... each one ranked based on the colour of their crystal.]

[And the one you just tried to invade is a violet crystal, which is the highest rank of dreams.]

’Huh?’ Liam mumbled in shock, his gaze still locked on the violet crystal in this distance.

’Rank of dreams? Seriously... dreams have rank now?’ He kept mumbling to himself, Lilith’s words replaying over and over in his mind.

All he had ever thought about dreams were mere figment of imagination.

Whether they were happy, sad or even terrifying nightmares, at the end of the day, they were all brought about by what the person thought about before sleeping, or the previous day.

So hearing Lilith tell him about ’dream ranks’, he couldn’t help but feel that it was pure bullshit.

But then, all that had happened to him during the last few days hadn’t really made any sense.

He first died, then transmigrated into a magic world... receiving a fantasy-like system in the process.

Even his current situation was anything but normal, or ordinary.

After experiencing all this absurd, unrealistic things, who was he to say something like dreams having ranks was a lie?

’What... kind of dream is that?’ He asked, finally realising how dumb his earlier doubt was.

[A divine dream...]

’Divine?’ He mumbled, his confusion only growing.

[Yes, a violet crystals signifies a divine dream, which means... a divine being is involved in that dream.]

Lilith continued, her tone growing serious with each word.

’A divine being... you mean, something directly related to Seraphina, the so-called goddess of light?’

He had heard a few times about rare cases where people received their blessings through dreams and vision, rather than merely inheritance.

And when Lilith told him about the involvement of the dream with divine beings, he couldn’t help but wonder if it was related to a blessing.

Was someone in the academy currently receiving a blessing?

The thought briefly popped up in his mind, but he quickly brushed it off.

If someone was really receiving such a divine blessing, then the energy leaking out of it would surely cause a lot of ruckus in the academy.

[A divine dream is not necessarily related to an awakening. My guess is that... someone’s communicating with a divine being.]

’Communicating with a divine being?’ Liam mumbled, surprised about what he just heard.

As someone born without a blessing, to remain in the academy, he had no choice than to read far and wide on everything they were taught, especially the history.

Due to this, he always came out on top in all the written and theoretical examinations, a fact that made him quite popular, further attracting the ire and jealously of his classmates.

Nonetheless, that was the reason he wasn’t forcefully withdrawn from the academy.

His high grade in exams, coupled with his nonexistent grades in the practical aspect of magic helped him barely pass the promotional cut off each year.

So he was certainly very knowledgable when it came to the goddess of light and her servants, who were also called Angels, or Seraphims.

There were tales about a person being able to communicate directly with a divine being, but such people were usually very powerful, with legendary rank blessings.

’Talking to a divine being... I wonder who that is, and what they’re talking about." He thought.

Despite Lilith’s warnings, he was even more curious about what exactly was going on within that dream.
