Chapter 65: So soon?

"He is also my mate. If I do this, he could regain consciousness in at least two days." Valerion said, quite certain that Eamon’s body couldn’t reject being bonded to him.

"Alright, I will leave you to it." Eros agreed as he walked out to give the couple some privacy.

Valerion slowly took Eamon’s wrist, placing a soft kiss on his skin before his canines sank into his flesh.

The bond fromed between them was instant and Valerion withdrew his teeth, licking the wound to prevent any blood loss.

As Valerion stood up, he felt like half of the blood in his body had been drained out. He was glad it had worked and after gulping down an entire jar of water to quench his sudden thirst, Valerion lay in bed next to Eamon, cuddling him closer to his chest as closed his eyes.

Whenever he was injured, his body healed much faster when he was asleep and now that he was working twice as hard to heal Eamon as well, Valerion found himself sleeping for most of day.

He woke up late in the afternoon, feeling slightly better and he was pleased to see that the color had slightly returned to Eamon’s skin even though he was still unconscious.

He was starving and after he ate almost twice as much as his regular portion, Valerion sat with Eros who had taken up temporarily residence at his house after the incident.

"How is Eamon?" Eros asked as he glanced at his uncle who looked much better. He could be back to his peak health the next day but he doubted the same could happen for Eamon.

"He is getting better." Valerion replied as he leaned back in his chair, his eyes locked on the empty fireplace before him.

He felt a bit hollow now that Eamon was unconscious and not knowing the exact day he could wake up tortured him.

He yearned to see his mate’s smile and feel his touch again.

"That’s good to hear. Ezekiel arrested the dragons that attacked you." Eros informed him and Valerion’s mood instantly darkened.

"He hasn’t killed them yet?" His voice sounded a little angry as he contemplated going and finishing the job himself.

No one attempted to hurt his mate and lived to tell the tale.

"No, not yet. He is interogating them." Eros replied and Valerion scoffed.

Of course his cousin was more cool headed about all this. It was a quality he envied and if Ezekiel managed to find out who was really behind the attack, Valerion could eliminate the threat once and for all.

All he needed to do was keep his temper in check.

"Has he found traces that indicate a deeper plot?" Valerion asked and Eros nodded in confirmation.

"Yes, it was a delegation and you are not the only one that was targeted, it seems like there is a powerful dragon out there that has something against the royals." Eros concluded and Valerion frowned.

His entire family was in danger and that didn’t sit well with him.

His younger sister, Eros’ mom wasn’t safe and so were the rest of his extended family.

"Be safe and keep an eye on your mother for me, okay?" Valerion emphasized and Eros offered him a faint smile.

"I will." Eros assured and they sat together in silence as Valerion’s mind raced with gruesome scenes of what he could do once he caught whoever was behind the attacks.

Going after his mate was one thing but threatening his family was on a whole new level and he was going to do whatever it took to find the person that was engineering all this.

Damon’s lips curled up in a small smile once he saw the familiar castle he had called home all his life at a distance.

Alexander was asleep and Damon let him sleep a while longer once they arrived because they had travelled for an entire day and his boyfriend was tired.

They had arrived at dusk and Damon’s smile widened as he peeked through his window and saw his sisters hurriedly approaching the carriage.

"Finally, you are home." Daphne beamed and Damon was wise enough to interpret the hidden meaning behind her mischievous smile.

She was glad he was back because she could get to tease him and reduce her boredom.

"Yes, keep your voices down." Damon smiled as he briefly glanced at the man that was seated beside him, his head leaning lightly against his shoulder.

"Mom and dad are on their way." Davina whispered as she looked at her brother’s knight who was fast asleep.

"Kindly ask them to wait for me inside, I will be there soon." Damon requested and he watched as his sisters left, a small part of him acknowledging that he had missed them.

They were stubborn and sometimes total pains but he loved them regardless.

"Hey, wake up." Damon gently caressed Alexander’s cheek, stirring the man from his sleep.

"We have arrived." Damon added once Alexander’s eyes opened.

"So soon?" Alexander murmured as he snuggled closer, wanting to prolong their contact.

Damon chuckled as he placed a small kiss on Alexander’s head.

"Love, I want to tell my family about us. How does today sound?" Damon asked as he ran his fingers through Alexander hair, his mind made up.

That fully woke Alexander and his emerald green eyes swirled with numerous emotions as they met his.

"Today?" Alexander murmured, just to confirm that he had heard right, his heart racing in both anticipation and nervousness.

"Yes." Damon confirmed as he placed a peck on his cheek.

His family deserved to know that he had someone he loved and even though Alex was a man, he knew that they could eventually accept their relationship.

It was going to be a surprise but Damon knew they loved him too much to reject his love for Alexander.

"Alright." Alexander agreed, his eyes tearing up a little and his chest warming up as he leaned in and captured Damon’s lips in a gentle kiss.

"Nervous?" Alexander asked as he held out his hand to assist Damon from the carriage.

"A little." Damon agreed as he placed his hand in Alexander’s.

"Don’t worry, my family will like you." Damon quickly added as he glanced at Alexander who was now walking a step behind him.

His family was waiting in a private drawing room and once he walked in, his parents who were seated stood up and walked towards him.
