Chapter 28: My body is yours

Eamon was thoughtfully silent.

"I need something from you." He admitted and Valerion’s mouth turned sour.

Of course his human mate wasn’t here for him.

Why he was still surprised and hurt at the revelation was something Valerion couldn’t fully fathom.

Maybe he was blindly hoping that Eamon could jump straight into his arms.

"What do you need?" He forced out the words, his voice low and calm.

"I want you to stop the dragon attacks on human settlements." Eamon admitted and Valerion smirked, realizing with a painful intensity that this was a give and take situation.

"And what do I get in return?" He asked and Eamon swallowed hard.

He hadn’t really thought of this part.

"I will mate with you." He whispered the words and Valerion’s brows knitted into a small frown, clearly displeased.

He didn’t want just this man’s body, he wanted more.

His heart, body and soul. Valerion wanted Eamon to be with him because he actually wanted to and not because of a trade between them.

At that moment, Valerion felt like he had been cursed. Cursed with a calculative human mate that felt nothing for him and was clearly intent on using him.

If only this man had been a dragon...

He couldn’t be dealing with this right now.

"We have a deal." Valerion smirked, surprising himself.

This man was a human and there was no way he could change that.

The only option left was seduction.

Valerion could seduce Eamon until he was willingly begging him to touch and claim him.

Eamon blinked as he watched the dragon that was looking at him, his eyes hot with something that stirred up heat within his body.

"Why don’t you come here Eamon?" Valerion breathed, his voice a deep and seductive invitation that made Eamon’s cheeks flush.

"I will mate with you once you’ve stopped the dragon attacks." Eamon corrected his earlier statement and to his relief, the flames of desire in Valerion’s eyes burned out.

"Clever human." Valerion noted as he walked towards him.

Eamon’s breath hitched when Valerion’s hand caught his wrist, his hold soft yet firm.

"You are coming with me." Valerion told him, his voice final and Eamon was silent as he walked behind him.

His eyes were fixed on his hand that was held in a slightly bigger one, inwardly wondering why the dragon had to touch him.

Eamon could walk just fine on his own.

Maybe Valerion wanted to ensure that he didn’t escape. That was the only logical explanation.

Valerion savored the small skin contact he had with Eamon, knowing too well that it was all he could have at the moment.

His heart leaped to life at the sensation and Valerion found his mood brightening, a small smile adorning his lips.

He had finally found his mate, someone that smelt intoxicating and felt like home.

Someone that he could share his life with but one glance at Eamon over his shoulder, put those thoughts to a halt.

The man appeared to be lost in his own thoughts and the small frown on his face made Valerion aware that they weren’t pleasant thoughts.

His scent held a serene calmness that complimented the sounds of running water in a distance.

Valerion stopped moving and Eamon looked up at him, the silent question clear in his eyes.

Why had they stopped walking?

"I am tired." Valerion admitted and he wasn’t lying, he was was truly tired but the reason he had stopped moving was to get Eamon’s attention.

He had clearly succeeded because those sharp coffee brown eyes were now gazing at him.

"Let’s rest for a while." Valerion suggested as he looked ahead at the cascading waterfall that was just a few meters away.

"Okay." Eamon agreed and Valerion reluctantly let his wrist go.

"Are you hungry?" Valerion asked as he walked over to the clear blue lagoon at the foot of the waterfall.

"Yes." Eamon admitted and watched as Valerion jumped into the pool, disappearing underwater and coming out with two large fish in his hands.

The way the thin white shirt he wore clung to his torso in all the right places made Eamon subtly gulp as his eyes trailed upward to his face.

Eamon was now hyper aware of this dragon’s inhamanely good looks.

Tiny water droplets left his long midnight black hair and trickled along his face, a few getting stuck in his long eyelashes.

That seemed to add a mystical allure to those smoky grey eyes that were looking back at him.

Eamon’s treacherous eyes took in the rest of his face.

He had a well defined and strong jaw and a pair of plump heart shaped lips that were perfectly aligned with a fine nose.

Valerion smirked, well aware of Eamon’s hot gaze.

"You are staring." He pointed out and the tips of Eamon’s ears burned as he wished the ground could open up and swallow him before he died from embarrassment.

He couldn’t even find a retort because he had been caught red handed.

"You can look at my body. It’s all yours." Valerion encouraged, his voice teasing with an underlying seriousness.

Eamon’s blush deepened.

"I don’t want it." He whispered, his mind utterly conflicted by his emotions.

Valerion let him be after sensing the embarrassment and frustration in his scent.

He cleaned the fish and quickly built a fire, roasting them over a low flame.

He sat a distance away from Eamon to spare himself the torture of inhaling his intoxicating scent up close.

"Are you taking me to the dragon kingdom?" Eamon asked as they waited for the fish to get ready.

"Yes." Valerion confirmed.

"Are there others like me. Humans?" Eamon asked, the thought of being the only one of his species in a place truly unsettling.

"I know of only three humans in the dragon kingdom." Valerion admitted.

The information was slightly comforting and as he ate his food, Eamon become increasingly aware of Valerion’s gaze on him.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" He asked and the dragon smirked.

"I cannot wait to have my hands on you." Valerion shamelessly admitted.
