Creating A Succubus Army In A Fantasy World! -
Chapter 38: The Red Demons.
Chapter 38: The Red Demons.
Creed’s grip tightened around his spear, his knuckles turning white as he scanned the surroundings.
His blue eyes flickered with cold focus, trying to track the exact location of the hidden archer.
But strangely, no more arrows came.
The battlefield, once filled with the terrifying crackle of heavenly tribulation lightning, now felt eerily silent.
Only the distant sound of burning rubble and the occasional whistle of the wind remained.
It was a dangerous silence. The kind that made his instincts prickle with warning.
His eyes narrowed.
Why aren’t they attacking? Are they repositioning? Reloading? Or—
Before he could complete that thought—
BOOOOM!
A blazing red beam shot out from the ruins ahead, too fast to react to!
Creed’s pupils shrunk to dots. He wasn’t going to dodge it. He wasn’t even going to be able to lift his spear in time!
It was too fast!
"MASTER!"
Before he could even blink, a blur of violet appeared beside him.
Lilith.
Her fist crackled with lightning, and in an instant, she punched the red beam with all her strength.
BOOOOM!
The beam was blasted away, spinning wildly before slamming into a nearby broken house, sending up a cloud of dust and debris.
Creed’s heart pounded in his chest.
’What... the hell was that attack?!’
His gaze snapped to where the beam had landed, only to see it was not a beam at all.
It was an arrow. An arrow that had been shot so fast, it literally looked like a beam of light!
Holy shit.
If Lilith hadn’t reacted, he would have been impaled.
His face turned grim. His reaction speed was way too slow.
His instincts were sharp, and his combat sense was okay, but if he couldn’t even react in time to an attack like that, then what was the point?!
He exhaled sharply. No choice. He needed to get faster.
Creed’s mind raced, but his decision was instant.
Out of the 10 free stat points he got as a reward for helping Lilith pass her tribulation, he dumped 7 points into Speed.
Fwoom!
The moment he confirmed it, his entire body felt lighter.
His muscles tightened, his blood rushed faster, and for a split second, it felt like the entire world had slowed down.
He clenched his fist. His speed was now 10. And he could feel it.
Even though he hadn’t moved yet, he could sense the difference. His body felt spring-loaded, like he could burst into motion at any second.
"Much better," he muttered, nodding in satisfaction.
Next, he allocated 2 points into Constitution.
Immediately, a warm, soothing energy surged through his body, spreading to every aching muscle, every bruised organ.
His wounds closed instantly.
His ribs no longer felt like they were shattered glass, and the dull pain that had been plaguing his body since the tribulation was gone.
A neat trick he had only recently discovered. Adding stat points to constitution not only improved ones body, but it also healed existing injuries!
It allowed him to recover from his injuries near instantly!
Finally, he placed the last point into Strength. But this time, something was different.
A deep, rumbling power erupted inside him. His veins bulged slightly, his muscles tightened, and for a moment, he felt unshakable.
[SYSTEM NOTIFICATION!]
[Your Strength has reached 21.
You have officially entered Stage 1 Physical Strength Level!]
Creed’s eyes widened.
Stage 1!
He wasn’t just stronger, this was an entirely new level.
His muscles were denser, his bones tougher, and his physical strength had increased exponentially.
But, he wasn’t truly at Stage 1 Physique yet.
To have a full Stage 1 physique, all his stats needed to reach 21 at minimum.
Still, he clenched his fist, feeling the raw power that now flowed through his body.
This was huge.
But before he could even enjoy the newfound strength, his instincts screamed.
MOVE. NOW!
His body reacted instantly. He dodged left, and just as he moved...
SWOOOSH!
Something cold and razor-sharp sliced past his neck, missing him by mere inches.
His breath hitched.
Slowly, his eyes followed the trajectory, and saw the arrow planted deep into a broken wooden fence behind him.
A direct kill shot!
His expression darkened. That was too close. But, he had found them.
The second the arrow was fired, his sharp eyes traced its exact origin.
"East," he muttered. His voice was cold. Deadly.
Lilith’s eyes gleamed.
Without hesitation, she shot forward, her lightning-coated body blurring as she dashed toward the rundown duplex in the distance.
Creed followed immediately, his newfound speed kicking in, allowing him to barely keep up with Lilith’s insane pace.
They were closing in fast, but the archer was prepared.
Suddenly, dozens of arrows shot out of the building, filling the air like a storm of death!
Creed twirled his spear, deflecting several arrows while twisting his body to dodge the rest.
Lilith zigzagged through the barrage, her body moving like lightning itself as she dodged and deflected arrows with her bare hands.
They were almost there, just a few more meters...
And then—
SHING!
A red sabre flashed through the air, aiming straight for Creed’s neck!
His pupils shrank.
Shit!
Swoosh!
Creed barely managed to twist his body, dodging the blazing red sabre by the width of a hair.
The deadly blade sliced through the air beside him, leaving behind a faint crimson glow. His heart pounded, his instincts screamed, but his face remained calm and focused.
Who the hell—?!
As he quickly turned, his gaze locked onto the attacker.
A young man with fiery red hair stood before him, smirking with a cocky confidence that made Creed’s fingers itch to punch it off his face.
He was about the same age as Creed, his lean yet muscular body wrapped in a dark red combat robe, and in his right hand, he held a red sabre, still glowing from his attack.
"Not bad," the red-haired youth said with a chuckle, resting his sabre on his shoulder. "You actually dodged that. I was sure your head would be rolling by now."
Creed’s sharp eyes narrowed.
’Cocky bastard.’
But he had no time for trash talk.
With a swift glance, he motioned for Lilith to continue chasing the archer, signaling her with nothing but his eyes.
Lilith understood instantly and shot forward, her purple lightning sparking as she blurred towards the ruined duplex.
The red-haired youth’s smirk vanished. He moved to stop her, but Creed was faster.
CLANG!
Their weapons clashed as Creed intercepted him, blocking his sabre with his purple spear.
Sparks erupted as raw force shook the air, but Creed held his ground, keeping the red-haired youth locked in place just long enough for Lilith to disappear into the ruins.
"You little—!" the youth growled, shoving against Creed’s spear.
Creed didn’t let up.
His feet dug into the dirt, his body moving like a spring-loaded machine, and in the next breath—
He attacked.
With full speed, Creed thrust his spear straight toward the guy’s chest, his movements as sharp and precise as a striking viper.
But—
CLANG!
The red-haired youth reacted at the last second, twisting his wrist smoothly and deflecting the spear away.
However, his expression changed.
Creed noticed it instantly.
The guy’s arms shook slightly, and for a brief moment his grip on his sabre weakened.
He almost lost control.
Creed smirked. ’He wasn’t expecting that much force, was he?’
Before he could press the advantage—
FWOOSH!
Suddenly, a silver glow coated the young man’s sabre, and he attacked again. His strike was faster, sharper, and stronger!
Creed’s eyes flickered.
That’s...!
Stage 1 Sabre Intent!
His body moved before his mind finished processing. Without hesitation, he activated Primordial Link.
BOOOOM!
A violent purple lightning burst erupted from Creed’s spear, wrapping around it like a thunderous serpent.
Power surged through his veins, and as the sabre came swinging down, Creed swung his spear up to meet it.
CLAAAANG!
The impact was colossal.
The air rippled from the sheer force of the collision. The red-haired youth’s eyes widened in shock, his stance breaking slightly as he was forced to take a step back.
"You have two talents?!" he blurted out, his voice filled with disbelief. His expression, once smug and playful, had now turned serious and cautious.
But before he could say another word—
BOOOOM!
A loud explosion shook the ruins of the duplex, sending debris flying in all directions.
Then, a second red-haired youth was blasted out of the building, flipping through the air like a ragdoll before landing with a loud thud a few meters away.
"AGH!"
Creed watched as the new figure scrambled up instantly, his movements surprisingly quick despite being thrown like a sack of potatoes.
His clothes were ripped, his face slightly bruised, but in his hands was a bow.
And it was already nocked with a pulsing red arrow.
Creed’s eyebrows rose slightly.
Twins.
The second youth looked identical to the first. They had the same fiery red hair, same cocky smirk, though this one looked more annoyed than confident after getting tossed out of a building.
Lilith appeared beside Creed, her lightning crackling, her gaze locked onto the archer.
Now, it was a four-way standoff. The air between them felt tense, electric.
Then, Creed broke the silence.
"Who the hell are you two and what do you want?" he asked, his voice calm yet dangerous.
The sabre-wielding twin twirled his weapon lazily, his smirk returning.
"The Red Demons," he answered smoothly.
His brother pulled back his bowstring, the red energy glowing menacingly.
"And you’re gonna hand over everything you have if you know what’s good for you," he added. "Valuables, weapons, food—everything. Or, well... we crush you."
Creed blinked.
Then, he laughed. Not just a chuckle. Not just a smirk. A full-on raucous laugh!
It echoed through the ruins, loud and unrestrained, as if the Red Demons had just told the funniest joke of all time.
The twins looked confused. Even Lilith raised an eyebrow.
Finally, Creed wiped a tear from his eye and exhaled.
"That’s hilarious," he said. "You know, I really don’t care what the hell you two were doing out here..."
His grip tightened on his spear. His blue eyes gleamed with dangerous amusement.
"But you chose the wrong person to mess with."
With Primordial Link still active, Creed exploded forward, his spear thrusting straight for the sabre-wielding twin’s chest!
At the same time, Lilith vanished in a blur of purple lightning, shooting towards the archer.
The Red Demons’ smirks vanished. Their eyes narrowed in concentration.
The fight had officially begun.
