Creating A Succubus Army In A Fantasy World! -
Chapter 39: Run!
Chapter 39: Run!
Creed pounced.
Lightning exploded around his body, wrapping his limbs in a crackling purple glow as he lunged forward with blinding speed.
His spear which was coated in the same furious electricity pierced through the air like a lightning bolt, aiming directly for the red-haired youth’s skull.
He was going for the kill!
The air hummed as the spear tip approached, but the red-haired youth moved instantly.
His eyes gleamed, his lips curled into a grin, and his body shifted with a smooth, effortless sidestep.
Brown light erupted from his legs.
Swoosh!
The glow of Aura, one of the three fundamental sources, coated his muscles, enhancing his agility far beyond normal limits.
It was only a slight movement, but it was enough. Creed’s spear missed, not even scraping past the youth’s cheek!
Creed’s blue eyes narrowed.
’He used Aura on his legs to dodge?! This guy’s more skilled than I thought.’
Before he could adjust his stance, the youth’s arms glowed brown, his red sabre igniting with a dazzling silver energy.
Stage 1 Sabre Intent!
WHOOSH!
His blade whistled through the air, slashing toward Creed’s ribs in a diagonal arc, a perfect counterattack.
Creed reacted instantly.
He twisted his spear at an unnatural angle, shifting the shaft just enough to catch the incoming blade.
CLANG!
The sabre strike clashed against the spear and Creed’s arms screamed in pain.
A violent shockwave traveled through his bones, his muscles burning from the tremendous force despite being physically stronger than his opponent.
The youth’s sources were superior. With Aura and Sabre Intent combined, every attack was sharper, heavier, and deadlier!
But Creed didn’t let go.
Using the momentum of the deflection, he spun his spear, twisting his body into a deadly arc and slashed straight for the youth’s throat.
A clean, decisive counterattack!
But the red-haired youth merely smirked. And then three red sabres materialized mid-air.
Creed’s eyes widened.
What the hell?!
One of the floating sabres shot forward and clashed against his spear, stopping the attack completely.
The other two? They flew straight for him!
SHIT!
Creed cursed, his instincts screaming in warning.
This guy already knew a Sabre Technique?!
Creed had been relying too much on raw strength and speed, but this guy? He had a technique, and he already knew how to use it so easily?!
In a split second, Creed forced his body to shift directions, throwing his weight sideways in a desperate dodge.
A sharp crack! echoed through the battlefield and pain shot up his ankle. His joints screamed, his balance wavered, but he survived.
The two red sabres sliced through the air right where he had been standing, missing him by a hair’s breadth.
But Creed didn’t even have a second to breathe, because three more sabres launched at him!
This time, they were coated in Sabre Intent!
Their glow burned red-hot, their edges buzzing with destructive force as they shot toward him like missiles.
Creed had two choices.
Dodge?
His ankle was already injured. The more he forced his body, the worse it would get.
Retreat?
Impossible. The moment he showed weakness, this bastard would press the attack.
Which left—
"Screw it!"
Creed poured all his remaining energy into Primordial Link.
BOOOOOM!
A shockwave of purple lightning erupted from his body, and he charged forward instead of retreating.
If he could break one of the sabres, he could pass through!
He swung his spear like a thunder god, striking the nearest red sabre head-on.
CLAAAAANG!
A blinding explosion of light filled the air, and then, Creed was sent flying.
"GAH!"
He tumbled backward like a ragdoll, crashing onto the ground with a loud thud.
What the hell?!
His arms ached, his spear trembled from the impact. The red sabre was far stronger than expected, unbreakable by his current power.
Before he could rise, a smug chuckle echoed through the air.
"Are you seriously trying to destroy a Partial Realm Stage 1 technique with not even a Stage 1 Source?"
Creed’s eyes snapped up.
The red-haired youth stood confidently, sabre resting on his shoulder, a grin plastered across his stupid, annoying face.
He was mocking him. Creed clenched his teeth.
Damn it!
Before he could respond, another scream tore through the battlefield. Both fighters instinctively turned toward the sound and their eyes widened.
A figure was standing in the distance, her body glowing with crackling purple energy.
Lilith.
And in front of her?
The second red-haired youth—the archer.
His mouth was open in a painful scream, his face twisted in pain, his eyes rolled back as his body convulsed violently.
Why?
Because Lilith’s fist was buried in his stomach!
A bloody, electrified hole had been punched straight through him!
The smell of burning flesh filled the air. The archer’s body shook, blood dripped from his lips, and then he collapsed.
Creed blinked. Then he grinned. His lips curled into a smirk, amusement flickering in his blue eyes.
’Looks like Lilith was just in time.’
The red-haired sabre user did not look amused. The moment the sabre-wielding youth saw his twin collapse, his entire aura changed.
His body tensed, his pupils shrank, and his breath hitched. Then with a furious snarl, he lunged forward, sabre raised, intent on cutting Lilith down.
Creed reacted faster.
Swoosh!
His spear shot forward, a precise thrust aimed straight for the youth’s chest. There was no way he could dodge and still reach his brother in time.
Creed expected him to parry, retreat, or even sidestep, but he did none of those things.
Instead, he let the spear pierce straight through his side!
’What the—?!’
Creed’s blue eyes widened in shock.
Blood splattered across the ground. The spear’s sharp edge tore through flesh, stabbing deep into his ribs, but the red-haired youth did not stop moving.
With sheer willpower, he kept charging forward, completely ignoring his own gaping wound.
Creed couldn’t help but feel a flicker of respect.
This guy was willing to take a direct hit just to protect his twin?
That was... deep. But Creed didn’t hesitate.
He was an enemy. An enemy who had made an attempt at his life!
He ripped his spear free, tearing through more flesh, and immediately gave chase. If the guy was willing to throw his life away, then Creed had no reason to hold back.
He would willingly take it!
He exploded forward, his legs glowing with purple lightning, enhancing his speed to the maximum. But still, it wasn’t enough.
Even while injured, the red-haired youth was still faster.
Creed clicked his tongue.
Damn it.
But then, he didn’t need to be faster. Because Lilith was about to punch another hole through the bow-wielding youth!
The injured twin had barely managed to pull out a pair of red daggers, his face pale and his stance weak, but Lilith?
Lilith was ruthless.
She ignored the daggers completely, her lightning-covered fist already flying toward his stomach.
The sabre-wielding twin roared in anger. With a desperate swipe, he unleashed his strongest attack!
A massive red blade arc exploded from his sabre, slicing through the air toward Lilith with terrifying force.
Boom!
Creed felt his heart skip a beat. This attack...
This attack was insane!
The sheer power behind the red blade arc was leagues above anything the youth had shown earlier!
Creed’s instincts screamed. If he blocked it head-on, he would die.
Wait.
’HE HAD BEEN HOLDING BACK THIS WHOLE TIME?!’
This wasn’t just a casual technique, this was a finishing move!
And yet, this bastard had been fighting him without using it?! Creed gritted his teeth, his mind racing.
Could he stop it?
No.
Could he dodge it?
Not without getting seriously hurt!
Could Lilith—
WHOOSH!
Lilith vanished in a flash of purple.
The red blade arc missed, slicing through a chunk of ruined concrete instead.
BOOOOM!
A mini-explosion erupted, debris and dust flying everywhere.
But Lilith?
She was fine.
She had dodged the attack with ease and didn’t even spare the sabre youth a glance.
Instead, she continued beating the living hell out of the dagger-wielding twin.
Creed nearly laughed. That was just brutal.
The sabre youth, however, had no time to process what just happened. Because Creed was right behind him.
Just as the sabre youth was about to reach Lilith, Creed was just a step away, spear raised and ready to thrust.
And then—
A terrifying cackle rippled through the ruins.
Everything stopped. Creed froze. Lilith froze. The twins froze.
The sound was—
Wrong.
It wasn’t human. It wasn’t natural.
It was deep, hollow, and twisted, like the laughter of something that should not exist.
The air turned cold. The surroundings dimmed slightly, as if the sun itself was recoiling from whatever was coming.
Then, it appeared.
A tall, lanky figure stepped out from the ruins.
Its body was pitch black, covered in oozing, tar-like liquid that dripped onto the ground, hissing as it burned through stone.
Its arms were freakishly long, dragging along the floor as it shambled forward.
And its chest. Its chest had a gaping wound. A wound so large and grotesque, it was clear it should be dead.
But it wasn’t.
Creed’s breathing hitched. Lilith’s eyes narrowed. The twins stiffened.
They all knew what this was.
A Curse!
A being that has been mutated by Dimensional Energy bound to a Beast King!
And the worst part?
Even in its near-death state, even with its massive wound, even with its body literally falling apart, it was still terrifying!
Creed felt it. Lilith felt it. The twins felt it.
The overwhelming sense of pure, primal terror coursing through them. How were they supposed to fight something they didn’t dare to kill?!
Without even speaking, without even needing to confirm anything, the three youths looked at each other.
Then, as one, they all said the exact same thing.
"RUN!"
