Crashing into an Old Flame -
Chapter 241: Turn around
Chapter 241: Turn around
Diana inhaled a deep breath. She swiftly avoided Ivy’s animated bright eyes and instead looked at Daisy questioningly.
’’You both...’’ When her voice came out slightly raspy, Diana coughed a few times before speaking in a somewhat normal voice, ’’Why did you not tell me you were going out?" she eyed the bags that had dropped on the floor at some point from Ivy’s hands.
Daisy frowned at the question. After some time, she muttered, ’’Grocery,’’ and then she turned to look at Ivy.
Diana gazed at Ivy, taking her sister’s cue that Ivy was the culprit, ’’What grocery? At this hour?"
Suddenly being put under their scrutinizing gazes, Ivy felt like a specimen under the microscope.
Daisy’s gaze shifted between Maxim and Ivy. She narrowed her eyes as she examined Ivy’s expression.
Unable to tolerate the stifling air, Ivy blurted out, ’’Sir texted me saying that you are not in a good mood.’’
Diana looked at Maxim who looked away and did not meet her gaze.
Daisy frowned, ’’You told me you need to get ingredients for desserts.’’
Ivy almost cried when she heard that cold voice. She thought that Dexter was rather gentle to girls but now that ’Dexter’ was gone, and ’Daisy’ had come into the picture, Ivy’s illusion shattered and she almost cried tearlessly when she realized that Daisy was just tolerating her all that while when she was in disguise.
Her idol was frustrated by her.
Under Daisy’s piercing stare, Ivy quickly pointed her chin towards Maxim, ’’He said that I need to make a peach cake because Dee likes them the most...’’ Ivy’s chin wobbled when she realized that she had been tricked by Maxim, ’’But the supermarket nearby did not have a single peach so we had to travel a little further which took us some time.’’
Diana looked at the peach pastries on the dining table before glancing at Daisy.
Daisy opened her mouth, ’’I was told that we need ingredients for dessert,’’ Had she known that Ivy was looking for peaches, then she would have clarified that Diana loved desserts in general, she was not that... particular... as a certain fox had made her sound to be.
To think that Maxim went to such extents just to sneak up on her sister. Daisy was speechless.
She had no comments so she simply walked to the master bedroom with Angel.
Ivy dragged herself to her room, feeling rather betrayed by Maxim.
’’Peaches are not my favorite,’’ Diana crossed her arms in front of her chest, turning to look at the perpetrator.
Maxim bit his bottom lips. Knowing that there was no way out, he confessed honestly, ’’I wanted to send them away so I bought them all from the supermarket,’’ the kitchen in the penthouse was filled to the brim with peaches.
Diana’s lips twitched.
When she did not say anything, Maxim sighed and held her hand. He gently stroked her fingers while looking at her hand.
When she did not pull her hand back, he raised his head and met her gaze, ’’Do you want me to beg?"
His words were followed by another whisper as he met her gaze, ’’Do you want me on my knees, Diana?’’
She did not respond.
And her silence was like a knife cutting into his heart.
Maxim’s eyes were filled with helplessness as he continued speaking, "Tell me what I need to do so that you don’t ignore me anymore. I was wrong, alright?" he shook his head, ’’If you want me to kneel, I will. If you want me to wait, I will. Just say the word.’’
’’You will do anything?" Diana broke her silence.
Maxim nodded once.
Afraid that she would change her mind, he nodded a few more times.
Diana smiled and pulled her hand out of his grip, ’’Turn around then.’’
’’Huh?" Maxim blinked.
’’Turn. around.’’ Diana emphasized.
Albeit confused, Maxim still turned around. His feet itched to turn to face her, to see her face yet he stood rooted in that position as he faced the wall.
’’Keep standing like that,’’ Diana narrowed her eyes, ’’You did that back in university first. You did it again today. Since you seem to like turning your back on me to this extent, keep doing it.’’
Maxim was stunned.
’’From now on, we will talk like this. With your back facing towards me. I refuse to talk to your face. Goodnight.’’

With that said Diana grabbed the plate of dumplings and pastries from the dining table before retreating to her room.
Once she was inside her room, she elegantly placed the plates on the bedside table and walked to lock the door.
As soon as the door was locked, her elegance dispersed into thin air as Diana raised her leg and kicked the door with all her might.
’’Ah...’’ she collapsed on the bed, holding her aching feet, ’’Idiot! Kneel? Beg? What did he take me for, an evil witch?"
When her gaze landed on the diary sitting on the table, Diana grabbed it and hurled it at the wall, watching it fall back on the bed, ’’Wild sheep! Humph!"
She grabbed a pillow and rolled around the bed for half an hour before going to stuff herself with the food that she had sneaked in earlier.
...
As the sunlight streaked in through the windows, Diana opened her eyes. Yawning lazily, she sat up on the bed.
Last night, Daisy was probably too tired of the drama hence she settled in the guest room.
After freshening up and taking a shower, she got dressed and walked out of her room with a bright smile on her face.
But unlike the day before, her smile was not faked anymore.
Diana spotted Ivy and Daisy at the dining table. Angel was sitting on Ivy’s lap and sucking a strawberry.
’’Morning, ladies...’’ Diana trailed off when she spotted another person.
’’You...’’ She looked at Maxim’s back, stunned.
Diana glanced at Daisy and Ivy who did not look surprised.
"Morning,’’ Daisy shrugged, ’’Saw him last night when I came to have dinner.’’
’’Morning,’’ Ivy nodded, ’’Same.’’
