Crashing into an Old Flame
Chapter 196: Baby, save me!

Chapter 196: Baby, save me!

’’Which one misbehaved?’’ Daisy replied without thinking, ’’Who dragged whom?’’

Ivy, who was initially a chatterbox, was rendered speechless.

It took her a moment to understand what Daisy meant.

Usually, Diana would be the one to do such reckless things. But after being drunk, Maxim was the one who was misbehaving.

The cause of their disappearance was unknown. And so was the perpetrator.

’’Let’s go back to the Master Bedroom first,’’ Since Angel was sleeping alone, Daisy did not waste another moment in the guest bedroom.

Ivy followed her, the gears in her head turning, ’’But Sir already had the hangover soup so he should be fine, right?"

Daisy massaged her forehead, ’’You work for Maxim?" her gaze snapped to the girl’s face.

Ivy gulped before nodding like a chicken.

’’Get your phone over. Call him.’’

Ivy hesitated.

’’Fast,’’ Daisy’s eyes narrowed as she glanced at Ivy’s hastily retreating back.

She grabbed her phone and called Diana but Diana’s phone rang in the house somewhere.

Helpless, she placed her phone down and waited for Ivy’s response.

Ivy shook her head, ’’He is not answering.’’

Daisy frowned. She would not care if they eloped or something.

No matter how much she did not get along with Maxim, she would usually not be worried if Diana was with him. That is why she did not hesitate to leave them alone in the nightclub yesterday.

But last night, Maxim was acting like he was 5. As for Diana, Daisy had doubts regarding her sister’s sanity at times.

’’Get me his address.’’

Ivy gulped softly as Daisy’s piercing gaze focused on her. She averted her gaze guiltily, ’’I-I don’t know where he lives...’’ The pair of pale green eyes narrowed further, and Ivy added in a meek voice, ’’Maybe he is still living at his friend’s place,’’ she felt bad for lying to Dexter.

But Maxim had already exposed so much when he was drunk. For the sake of all the game consoles he had given her, she could not go against her conscience and betray him by spilling the tea about his current address.

For the first time in her life, Ivy wondered why she did not have a normal sleep schedule. Had she been sleeping at this hour, she would not have had to face this.

Daisy pushed herself to her feet, smoothening her jacket calmly as she glanced at Ivy, ’’I will go there. Tell me, which friend?"

Ivy gulped softly, continuing with her lie, ’’Sir only has that one friend. Mr. Harper. Ryle Harper.’’ Since she did not have many interactions with the man in the past, she did not feel the least bit guilty for shoving him into the hellfire.

It was only after a moment did she realize that Daisy’s expression had changed.

Daisy sat back on the bed quietly. She had no interest in seeing that man’s face early in the morning.

After a few moments, Daisy looked at Ivy again, ’’Can I use your laptop?"

Ivy did not think much about it. She went out and grabbed her laptop before carefully handing her baby to Daisy.

’’Your phone?" Daisy asked after a moment of hesitation. After all, the phone was a private thing.

Ivy handed it without hesitation. If only there was something to hide in her phone but alas, her private life was a blank sheet during these years.

Daisy glanced at her thankfully before she checked Maxim’s number and handed the phone back to Ivy.

The next scene that Ivy saw left her standing rooted to her spot. Her jaws dropped.

Daisy’s slender fingers started moving on the keyboard slowly but her pace gradually increased until all Ivy could see was a blur.

As a programmer, she knew what was going on.

And she had already found Daisy aka Dexter interesting... But her gaze was now reverent as she looked at the man before looking back at the strings of codes that disappeared and the words that had appeared on the laptop.

It took her barely a few minutes to track Maxim’s address.

Ivy could do it too but not within such a short time. Moreover, Silver Regency was a place with one of the best security systems in LA. So, even if she tried, it would have taken her hours or a few days of devotion to get to this.

Ivy looked at Daisy like she was looking at a god.

Feeling a burning gaze on her, Daisy tilted her head up. Her face was black like the bottom of the pot, ’’You lied.’’

The two words made Ivy come back to her senses.

Just now, it almost slipped off her mind that she lied about Maxim’s address. But how would she know that person she lied to would turn out to be such a god?

Where would she put her face now?

Ivy wanted to cry but she lacked tears.

Daisy sighed. She should have known. That man... never left a chance to pester her baby sister.

2 hours later.

Diana entered the house with light footsteps when she noticed that the living room was empty.

She sighed in relief. Daisy left for work probably.

For the first time since she met Ryle, she felt like although he was a bit over the top at times, he was still useful. She had not come across many people who could tackle her sister.

Coming to think of it, Maxim had a good eye for people...

’’You are back.’’

Diana’s stiffened, her thoughts trailed off as she watched Daisy stepping out of the balcony with Angel in her arms. The little girl was looking lazy as she yawned and rubbed her head on Daisy’s neck like a spoiled kitten.

’’Dee, you are back!" Ivy’s cheerful voice came from the kitchen.

Diana turned to look at the girl who was sitting on the kitchen counter with a bowl in her hand as she stuffed something into her mouth. Her eyes sparkled when she looked at her as if she was waiting for her to speak.

Diana was speechless.

Having been caught red-handed, she turned to walk to her room calmly.

’’Stand there,’’ Daisy’s voice was stern.

Diana halted in her tracks, ’’What is it?"

’’Where were you last night?"

’’I...’’

’’If you lie, I will tie your hands and make you run around this building. 20 laps in the morning and another 20 in the evening,’’ Daisy cut her off.

Diana’s legs trembled just at the thought of it. On usual days, she would die out of exhaustion just by two laps. Let alone today. Her body was so sore that she just wanted to jump into the bed and hug the fluffy pillows to dreamland.

What was ironic was that she had taken two days off to spend time with Daisy but somehow, she felt like she ended up holidaying with Maxim.

Noticing her quiet countenance, Daisy’s face softened, ’’Do you not feel well...’’ she paused, her gaze scanning Diana from head to toe. It took her a moment to realize Diana was no longer wearing the dress she had worn yesterday. She frowned, ’’He lived in the penthouse. Were you clueless about that before?"

Diana’s eyes widened. She looked like a deer caught in headlights.

Her gaze snapped to Ivy.

Ivy who was about to eat a strawberry nearly choked on it when she felt Diana’s piercing stare.

’’Will you believe me if I say that I am innocent?" her lips tugged up in an uncomfortably awkward smile.

"_"

Diana wanted to ask her if she believed the words she spouted.

Ivy gulped. She really felt like she was innocent. She even wanted to dupe Dexter but who would tell her that this god-like man was an expert? The way he hacked Maxim’s address... Ivy still could not stop fangirling about it.

Daisy narrowed her eyes, ’’What did I tell you about giving him the time to figure out what he wants? You are so defenseless against him and you even let him take advantage of you...’’

’’I was the one who was dying to take advantage of him. It was my lifelong dream to sleep with him. Now that my dream has been realized, I can’t let you slander him. He is as innocent and pure as a white lotus...’’ Diana felt like her wording was somehow inappropriate so she corrected herself, "I mean... As pure as a lotus and..." She trailed off when she met Daisy’s cold gaze and it took her a moment to realize the words she had spouted indignantly.

’Clang’

’Crash’

The spoon and bowl in Ivy’s hand landed on the floor.

"_"

Daisy froze.

Even Angel was alerted by the chaos. She lazily stretched her tiny hands towards Diana, ’’Mama...’’

Diana wanted to steal Angel away and run from the place.

But the look on Daisy’s face made her hair stand at the end.

She trembled and looked at Angel. Her eyes screamed, ’Baby, do something. Cry pitifully. Scream. Or act cute. Just save me!’
