Conquering His Cold Heart -
Chapter 460 - 460: Flew Back
"Get lost!"
Although Hamilton's words resonated with Caspian's heart, the latter didn't want to accept any help. Caspian simply rolled his eyes and turned his head away from the hand that was hovering above his chest.
Hamilton couldn't believe that his cousin still had the audacity to act all smug in the face of something so serious.
Thus, Hamilton simply feigned ignorance of Caspian's insufferable ego and grabbed his wrist.
Before Caspian could protest or pull his hands away, Hamilton swiftly pulled Caspian from the ground, wrapped Caspian's arm around his shoulder, and then quickly levitated in the air while tightly grasping onto his cousin.
"Hey! Put me down, you rotten ham!" Caspian screamed at Hamilton while trying to shake Hamilton away and stop Hamilton from flying him back to the castle.
However, Hamilton tightened his grip on Caspian even more and didn't allow his hysterical cousin to break free.
Throughout the way, Caspian kept on squirming and cursing Hamilton. Sometimes he would threaten his cousin, the other time he would try to use brute force. But no matter what he did, he couldn't free himself from Hamilton's clutches.
In the end, Caspian stopped being a pain in the arse when his castle came into view. A part of him wanted to go and check on his wife.
"Ohhh… His Majesty is back! Everyone! His Majesty is back!" one of the guards who was stationed outside shouted at the top of his lungs when his eyes fell on the figures that were approaching the castle at a very fast speed.
He couldn't care less if he was disturbing some people's sleep. He doubted that anyone was asleep when the King had gone missing.
Except for the guards who couldn't leave their posts, a lot of vampires gathered outside to greet the King.
"Do you see how you were making everyone so worried? You don't have the luxury to act recklessly, you know that." Hamilton politely said to Caspian as he slowly began to fly closer to the ground.
No matter how polite Hamilton sounded, Caspian still felt offended when the person without any duties gave him a piece of advice.
Thus, he clenched his jaw and snapped at Hamilton, "Can't I even take a day off for myself when I am going through such pain? Are you telling me that I am not allowed to feel sad, or feel any kind of emotions just because I am the King?"
Hamilton happened to see the dim light that was escaping through the small gap between the curtains of one particular room of the castle.
He sighed and looked down at the people that had gathered below them. And he said in a low voice, "I am not saying that the King isn't allowed to feel sad. But it is your responsibility to think about everyone too. That is the burden that comes with the crown."
Caspian was about to talk back when Hamilton gently set him down.
Immediately, all the concerned vampires surrounded the two of them.
"Y-Your Majesty, are you alright?"
"Can we do something for you?"
"We were worried about you, Your Majesty."
Caspian was overwhelmed by all the voices full of concern towards him.
Though his people never dared to speak this openly to him, tonight it seemed like they were terribly anxious after his sudden disappearance.
Caspian looked down and cleared his throat. He felt guilty for making everyone this panicked. Thus, for the first time, he apologized to people other than his wife and his close friends, "Forgive me for disappearing without informing anyone where I was going. Worry not. I had just gone to visit my brother."
Everyone, including Hamilton, was stunned upon hearing the King's apology.
Before any of them could say something back, flustered, Caspian hurried inside the castle.
'What the hell is wrong with me?' he frowned at himself for doing something so out of character of him.
Still, he felt somewhat relieved to see the worried expressions being washed off those people's faces.
---
Outside, Hamilton nodded his head and acknowledged everyone's greetings while his eyes were glued to the entrance of the castle.
'Caspian, I hope you won't run off from the back of the castle after I personally flew you here,' he thought.
When everyone began to disperse, with no one exclaiming how the King had run off again, Hamilton thought of going back to his mansion.
But he still couldn't shake off the feeling that Caspian would run off once again.
"Milord," A servant of the castle bowed to Hamilton and asked, "Shall I prepare a guest-chamber for your stay?"
Without shying away, Hamilton immediately accepted the offer, "Why, thank you! I thought no one was going to ask."
---
Inside the castle, as Caspian rushed down the corridor, his footsteps automatically stopped when he reached in front of the Queen's chamber.
For a moment, he contemplated if he should enter the chamber and listen to his wife. After all, he didn't let Anastasia speak that much. There were still a lot of things that he wanted to ask his wife. Anastasia had also asked him to come to her if he was in the mood to talk with her.
However, the fear of the uncertain future began to pierce his heart once again.
He was not ready to see his wife yet.
Thus, he put his raised hand inside the pocket of his coat and slowly walked toward his own chamber.
As he was heading there, he couldn't help but feel guilty after recalling the state that he left his room in.
'Ugh! I will have to replace all the furniture. I shouldn't have destroyed those things… Some of the vases were my father's collection…'
Lost in his thoughts, Caspian didn't notice the Queen's Guards who were standing outside the door of his chamber.
He simply pushed the door open and entered the room, only to be surprised by the room that was in a perfect state. Almost all of the furniture looked new but their design resembled the old furniture that was in the room before. Even the decorative items looked almost identical to the broken ones.
'Did Percy do all of this?' He was slightly delighted.
That emotion fleeted sooner than it appeared when Caspian caught sight of the feeble-looking woman who was standing in one corner and staring at him.
His brows and nose automatically formed a hateful frown when he growled, "What are you doing in my room?"
