Chronicles Of The Academy's Strongest Professor -
Chapter 42: Ethan Ross [3]
Chapter 42: Ethan Ross [3]
"...."
Arthur didn’t know that.
He had just learned yet another thing Arthur had done.
No, to be more precise he knew had seen her name.
Vivienne Ross.
He had never likened her to Ethan Ross, mostly because by the time he had learned of who the man was, he was dealing with Celestine’s case.
She was one of the victims that had been sent to an asylum.
’So that’s why?’
He didn’t know how to feel about this info.
He had hated the man before because he thought he didn’t know his reasons/
’That bastard really did that to her for such a reason?’
’She wasn’t tight anymore?’
Arthur found it hard to believe that someone would discard another person just for that reason.
It just felt, wrong.
"I see."
He finally said.
Arthur had always known that his image was bad, but it seemed that he didn’t know how bad it was.
"See what?"
Ethan Ross tried to control his emotions, he picked up his chair and sat down back on it.
"Do you really not remember her, Vaelthorne?"
He finally asked.
Arthur didn’t reply. Not yet.
He was beginning to rethink his approach.
This was a grown man, a man who had married another and gotten a child. Only for Arthur to send his child to the mental asylum.
After using her thoroughly....
Though he had fought in the war, killed tens of thousands, separating from their families forever, this was something else.
The gravity of the situation seemed to outweigh all the things he had done.
"You don’t remember her?"
"....No, I don’t."
Arthur finally said.
His words were sharp, like a blow aimed directly at the man’s heart.
That much could already be gotten from his hesitance to speak, but it could have also been misinterpreted as him feeling guilty.
"What did you say?"
Ethan asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
"I forgot."
Arthur replied.
He stared directly at Ethan and Ethan stared directly at him. One side held an unimaginable amount of hate for the other.
"You forgot about her? So you also forgot about ’your’ spell as well?!"
Arthur knew where Celestine was now.
He was able to determine her location based on her mana signature.
If he was still doing it according to his plan, he would have already gone ahead to rescue her before slaughtering each and every last person or clone in this place.
But now, he knew something different.
Something he didn’t know.
Suddenly, Ethan’s anger disappeared.
It was frightening and instant, he seemingly calmed down immediately.
Then, he said in a light tone.
"You stole my spell, accused me of plagiarizing, used my own daughter to get it from me, made it impossible for me to ever come in contact with the Scholars Institute again, and even mentally killed my daughter. And now, you don’t even remember her?"
It was hard to believe that this was the same man.
"....No."
"Wind bullet, that was the spell you stole from me, the one I spent a full year and a half on, do you at least use it?"
"I do."
"...."
Somehow the man kept calm.
He did not cry. His face didn’t contort into anger. Neither did he break down and cursed relentlessly.
His face darkened, taking on the semblance of someone who had lost all hope.
The man’s head slowly drooped, and he stared at the floor.
No tears dropped onto the ground.
"Vaelthorne, about that deal I made with you, I would like to change a small part of it."
He began, still staring at the floor.
"Instead of you killing yourself, I would like be the one to kill you. Don’t worry about it, even if you were to resist, it’s still allowed."
"No, I’ll have to decline."
He said.
Arthur did feel bad about what happened.
The man didn’t raise his head up.
"Haha."
He let an eerie chuckle from his lips as he stared at the ground.
Slowly, he raised his head up.
"The moment you entered this warehouse, you forfeited all your human rights. I will kill you, and I will dispose of your body, but be rest assured that your sister will survive."
He chuckled eerily as he slowly get up.
Even Arthur felt chills run over his body at the sight.
"Don’t worry, unlike you, I don’t kill people for the sake of killing."
"You use my magic, but you don’t even remember the person who gave it to you? I don’t see any reason for you to live anymore."
"I don’t need to use your route, if the empire catches me I’ll be executed. But, if you get to live another day, I could never forgive yourself."
Arthur let out a sigh as he got up as well.
This man, he couldn’t even be classified as a ’named’ character, meaning he had no relevance whatsoever.
That was the sad part.
He might have lost everything, but he had zero relevance. No one even knew about him, aside from the fact that he was a professor.
Now, in his depression, he was going to fight Arthur.
And actually thought he had a chance of winning....
Even with his numerous clones, his chances still stayed at a 0% chance of winning.
"I don’t want to fight you, just give Celestine back and I’ll leave."
He let out another sigh.
This fight was imminent, and once he started fighting, his intention would be to kill. Still, the chances that the man, even if he knew this, would stop himself was little.
"I don’t want to fight you as well, but because of everything you’ve done, not only to me, but to every other family you ruined, I will kill you."
There was no escaping the fight.
"Fine."
He brought out six daggers, three in each hand.
"If you want a fight, I’ll bring it to you."
Then, he threw the weapons.
Each aimed at a different clone.
With the intent to kill each and every single one of them.
