Chapter 43: Ethan Ross [4]
Chapter 43: Ethan Ross [4]
He ignored the main body first, for now, however he would deal with the clones.
They were peculiar.
He had seen one that had no self-awareness, it didn’t know it was a clone, rather it believed that it was the main body.
However, these clones did not speak, only following the prepared instructions of the main body.
Peculiar.
Interesting.
However, he had no time to think about it.
As soon as he threw those daggers, they had began.
’Ugoku Raijin.’
Of course, all six had the seals on them, allowing him to use that magic on all of them.
He appeared before the clone on the right, catching his dagger mid-air.
He swiftly decapitated it.
’Ugoku Raijin.’
This one had managed to dodge the dagger, only to find its nape sliced through.
’Ugoku Raijin.’
Using this in battle was methodical, since it was a grandmaster-ranked spell, like all his other spells, they required a good amount of concentration to pull off.
Arthur swiftly cut through the six clones present.
"Attack!"
Ethan roared at the top of his lungs.
As soon as the command came out of his lips, dozens of clones poured through the doors and windows of the warehouse.
The man had prepared well.
But not well enough though.
He kept all the other five daggers back, leaving only one in his hands.
He threw it at one who had just come through the window.
Arthur appeared in front of it, and before it could even react, he stabbed through its gut.
"Aqua Sphere!"
He heard the roar of the man’s voice.
A sphere of condensed water with icy particles materialized.
Ethan lunged forward as he hurled the sphere at Arthur.
’I can’t dodge?’
He realized.
Arthur quickly threw his dagger another direction.
Just as it was about to hit him, he vanished, re-appearing in front of a clone.
He grabbed his dagger mid-air, gripping it tightly as he landed a spinning kick, killing the clone off with just the power behind his heel.
As the sphere made contact with the ground, it erupted in a burst of icicles that burst out in every direction.
Fortunately, it didn’t reach Arthur.
It only hit the other clones in the vicinity.
’He doesn’t even question how I do this?’
Maybe it was because he was mad, he couldn’t think straight, or maybe just because he couldn’t care.
’No more importantly, how are these clones even made.’
He had thought all of them would be mages.
Somehow, they managed to be of all classes.
Some were assassins, some were knights.
They were all physical classes.
’Wind Blade.’
He thought as one of them charged at him from behind.
He spun around, slashing his hand across the air. The Wind Blade was quick to follow.
It cut it in half.
Arthur turned around just in time so realize that someone snuck up on him.
He raised his dagger in defense, but still, the clone managed to get a scratch in.
"Thunder Spear."
The man let out another spell this time, from what Arthur could tell it wasn’t another AOE.
Ethan had thought it through this time, all his clones had left the way, creating a straight line between Arthur and the spell.
At least, all except the one he was beating currently.
He gave the clone one last punch before his feet shifted on the ground.
With a fluid motion, he swung the body towards the incoming spear and rolled out of the way.
Then, his eyes locked onto the man.
Ethan Ross.
This time he didn’t throw his dagger at him.
*Boom-!
The ground of the warehouse seemed to tremble as he kicked off with explosive force. Though, he had made sure not to use too much speed, so he wouldn’t accidentally destroy the warehouse.
The man’s eyes widened for the first time.
At his speed.
"A sorcerer."
This wasn’t a mage, neither was he a warrior.
He was the perfect combination of both.
"Aqua shield!"
The shield barely materialized before Arthur slammed into it.
His speed was overwhelming, he had closed the distance faster than Ethan had thought he would.
Arthur didn’t even need to attack.
He slammed his body into that of the man’s, knocking him unconscious without even having to attack.
He turned back to his opponents.
’Flame burst.’
He quickly aligned the mana circuit.
Sparks of flame materialized at his fingertips.
Then, a blast of fire erupted from his palm.
He couldn’t resist using this, as most of them had gathered on one side.
They were roasted alive before turning back into dark mist.
He could have done another one to kill the others.
But, he didn’t.
Arthur had only killed them because there was a risk of being surrounded.
He enjoyed killing.
To a fault at that.
He had awakened the assassin class and the mage class, not only that but he was also forced to participate in a war.
He wasn’t like a serial killer who enjoyed killing, he was the one that could control himself, but when he began he would kill.
And then, he would go on to cause the leader as much pain as possible.
Until he killed him, of course.
Now, it was only the goons left, even though they were a lot of them, and of different classes, he doubted if they would be able to do anything against him.
For one reason; he had avoided being encircled.
’Wind bullet.’
Arthur raised his hand at the left, his fingers curling until it resembled a gun.
*Bang-!
A bullet made entirely of compressed wind shot out from his fingertips.
It went through the clone.
Arthur used his right hand to throw his dagger forward.
’Ugoku Raijin.’
He swiftly took down each and every one of the clones.
It barely took him five minutes, with the main body knocked unconscious, they were uncoordinated, rushing from him at all sides.
And easier to take down.
He severed each of their heads, stabbing through their chest, and cutting them in half.
It only took him five minutes to kill each and every one of the body clones.
’Finally.’
He stood in an empty warehouse now, devoid of bodies, only his and that of Ethan Ross.
’I’m going to regret what I’ll do next.’
