Chapter 372: Who is Ryan?

Lucas Scott was going crazy at the news of his daughter getting detained for murder charges circulating all over the news channel. It not only affected his business but also his reputation.

He tried seeking help from his lawyers but there was nothing they could do to get her out. She had tried to kill two people from which one was dead while the other survived and that one was none other than Alice Wayne wife of Noah Wayne.

Stopping his car in front of the police station, Lucas walked in to meet his daughter. He knew she would again create a scene for getting her out of that shitty cell but he was helpless.

The moment he reached her cell, Lucas watched his daughter sleeping on the ground with her appearance all messed up. She looked weak as she lay down with dark circles prominent on her face.

’How dare they keep my daughter like this’ his jaw clenched in fury as he turned to look at the cop next to him.

He was to yell at them but he couldn’t knowing it will only cause them more trouble.

Once the door was opened Lucas stepped inside. The taping sound of footsteps woke Natalie from her laziness and she slowly opened her eyes.

Lucas felt his heart rip apart as he watched Natalie weakly smile at him. Her eyes shined with hope and she quickly got up, standing in front of her father. "Are you here to take me home Dad?" she asked like an excited child.

Lucas loved his daughter a lot and finding her in this situation made him feel miserable. He had always given her what she wanted, fulfilling her every demand whether it was right or wrong, he always supported her no matter what but this particular thing, he couldn’t give her.

Lucas was helpless as he couldn’t find a way to get her out of this cell. Noah made sure no one was spared for whatever they did to his beloved wife and if he happens to go against him then he would lose everything in the blink of an eye.

When he didn’t answer, Natalie’s smile dropped and her face turned ugly. "Then why are you here? Go and do something, Dad. I can’t be here... get me out" she yelled her lungs out and she pulled her hair like a mad woman.

Natalie was exhausted both physically and mentally. Being a drug addict, she couldn’t stay away from taking those substances and it only made her think about Noah.

Though she was betrayed, her madness for him didn’t stop. She needed those things to calm her down.

Lucas was shocked by Natalie’s breakdown. She looked crazy as she started hurting herself in her madness.

Listening to her yelling soon the cops came and shoved out Lucas before they tied her hands and legs making her lay on her bed.

Lucas could only see her being treated like a criminal by the cops who didn’t show sympathy to her even for a little bit.

Watching his daughter’s helplessness, Lucas’s eyes were cold and he gnashed his teeth in fury. Unable to bear it anymore he sprinted out from there and left the station.

’He would punish everyone’ Lucas promised himself.

After working for so long Gwen excused herself to the restroom. She just wanted to freshen up a bit as her mind and body had started to get exhausted with continuous work.

Stepping into the restroom, Gwen entered one of the toilets. She was about to take her seat when someone walked in and shut the restroom door with a loud bang.

’What the..’ Gwen was about to step out but stopped when she heard a familiar voice.

"How many times should I tell you, Ryan? You can’t show up in my workplace. What if someone gets suspicious about you" Gwen paused her hand still resting around the door knob.

’Linda.. ’she mumbled quickly recognizing who the person was.

’But whom is she talking with and who is Ryan’ she wondered as she leaned against the door carefully listening to her conversation.

She made sure not to make any sound that would alert her somehow. So she remained stilled and kept listening to what she was speaking.

By her tone, Linda sounded annoyed with that person named Ryan. She wanted to know what her so upset that she couldn’t hold back her anger.

But then something clicked in her mind and Gwen wondered why Linda was having a conversation here inside the restroom and not in her assigned cabin.

"I just need some more time until then, please don’t come looking for me. Do you get it" With that she hung up the phone and turned to look at herself in the mirror.

Shoving the phone into her pocket, she then turned on the faucet and washed her hands. Glancing at herself for the last time she then turned and walked out of the restroom.

Once everything outside was quiet, Gwen then clicked the knob round and peeked through the slightly opened door.

Heaving out a sigh, she then stepped out and looked at the closed door from where Linda just walked out

A deep crease formed on her forehead as she recalled the words she heard Linda speak.

"Who is Ryan and why did she ask him to give her sometime" Gwen wondered falling into a deep thought.

Linda was a cunning lady and everything about her made Gwen distrust her actions towards them. She wasn’t sure if the lady had any ill motives toward them but the way she kept behaving around them made her wonder what was she up to.

Standing there for a few minutes Gwen then washed her hands and stepped out of the restroom heading straight toward her cabin.

The moment she entered her eyes popped out when she saw how Linda was leaning against Karl’s chair almost while she explained something to him.

"Ahem.." clearing her throat Gwen walked further and she watched Linda quickly pull back and flash a fake sweet smile at her.

Gwen too passed her a sweet smile and asked," Is there any problem? I just thought you would fall on Karl"

Linda’s lips twitched at her taunting remark but she didn’t show her annoyance openly. She knew Gwen had a sharp mouth and she wouldn’t mind humiliating her in front of anyone but she wouldn’t fight her back.

This was the only thing she wanted from her.

"I was just supporting myself. Wasn’t I Karl"

Karl who had been dumbstruck by Gwen’s words turned to look at Linda who stared at him with a pitiful face.

" She said she had pain in her leg, so I asked her to stand supporting my chair" Karl’s words poured cold water on Gwen’s face and her lips parted in shock.
