The next morning news of Piper suffering a paralysis attack reached Richard and he quickly moved her to the hospital. Her family was soon informed about her condition and they soon arrive to meet her.

Her husband and daughter were distraught to find Piper in such a helpless condition. Being one of Richard’s loyal servants, he took responsibility and vowed to her family that he would take care of all the hospital expenses.

Thankful for his kindness, Piper’s family took her back to their hometown as they couldn’t stay there because of their work back there.

Taking care of everything Richard then entered his study. He was still confused about how all of a sudden Piper would suffer a paralysis attack. She told him she had a mild fever and wishes to take a break but, when did her condition worsen this much and she lost the ability to move her entire body?

While Richard was busy thinking about Piper, he heard a knock on the study room’s door and he snapped out of his trace.

Tori entered with a glass of water as she walked closer to his table. She learned about Richard’s return and she immediately rushed to meet him.

Last night after Max left, Tori stayed by Piper’s side and broke into tears. She blamed herself for Piper’s condition. If she had the slightest idea what was Piper up to she would have stopped her or else Max wouldn’t have caught her in action.

After a long time, she felt connected to someone on a deeper level and it was Piper. She was in dilemma for some time but after recalling the times she spend with Piper she couldn’t come to doubt her kindness towards her.

She knew the drug Max injected with her will dilute her blood without letting the doctor doubt that it was a false act

Passing Richard the glass of water, she took a step back with her eyes downcast on the floor. She chewed the inside of her mouth contemplating how she should inquire about Piper, but after a long debate, she finally asked.

"P-piper, how is she?" she voiced as she firmly gripped the tray in her hand.

Richard raised his eyes when he heard Tori’s words. Keeping the glass on the table, he then observed the girl for some time before he spoke," Her family requested to take her with them" he answered.

Richard was surprised when he couldn’t find Tori anywhere when one of their maids informed them about Piper. Being her subordinate he was expecting her to come and at least inquire about it but she didn’t and that somewhat irked him.

Tori bobbed her head in understanding. She was happy that Piper was taken away by her family. In that way, she would be safe.

She then took a step and picked up the glass from the table and was about to leave when Richard stopped her.

"Tori, where were you when the maid came out of Piper’s room yelling about her condition" Richard’s words surprised her and she stiffened on the spot.

The morning when the maid came looking for Piper as she couldn’t find her in the kitchen preparing the breakfast, Tori had stepped out of her room for some time.

She wanted to ask Max how long Piper was going to remain like this. She thought it was partial paralysis but when Max confirmed that she wouldn’t be recovering soon, Tori felt miserable.

She was about to head back to Piper’s room when she saw one of the maids rushing out of her room. Hiding behind the wall she watched the maid run shouting Piper’s name creating a ruckus.

Watching everyone gather, Tori panicked and sprinted to her room without getting seen. Locking herself inside the room, Tori didn’t step out until Tori was rushed to the hospital.

Gulping the lump down her throat, Tori composed herself. She couldn’t let this man doubt her.

Slowly turning around, she glanced at Richard for a second and quickly lowered her eyes, and answered," I was taking a shower when everything happened and by the time I came out everything was back to normal. It’s when I asked the maid and she informed me about Piper suffering a paralysis attack" she tried to sound as convincing as possible without showing any discomfort, hoping Richard to believe it.

Richard’s eyes were glued on Tori. He tried to look through her expression and when he didn’t find any suspicion he bobbed his head and asked to leave. He even appointed her as the head chef replacing Piper.

Stepping out of the study room, Tori heaved out a sign and raised her head, and saw the small camera she fixed in the flower vase. She couldn’t help but cursed herself mentally before she composed herself and walked away from there.

Knight Mansion

Ashley learned about Piper’s departure from Richard. She felt sorry for the old lady as she had been one of the loyal servants who worked for her father for years.

Sitting quietly on the couch, Ashley heaved out a sigh. Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard the creaking sound of the bathroom room door and she snapped out of her trace.

Tristan stepped out taking a shower and the first thing he did was eye his wife from a distance. His brows draw together watching her spacing out and he knew she was still thinking about Piper.

Staring at her for some time, he then walked towards the closet and got changed. Opening the drawer, he pulled out a matching tie and walked towards Ashley.

"Help me wear the tie," he said standing in front of her and pointed at the tie in his hand.

Without saying a word, she stood up and took the tie from his hand before she wrapped the tie around the collar of his shirt and started tying the tie.

Standing closer to each other Tristan wrapped his arm around her waist and gently pulled her closer to him.

Stumbling to her feet, Ashley gaped at Tristan surprisingly and asked," What was that?" her eyes widely looking at her while her mouth slightly opened.

"Distracting my worried wifey" he answered cheekily and this time he too wrapped the other arms around her waist, interlocking them firmly on her waist.

Ashley opened and closed her mouth watching Tristan act shameless again. Yes, she was spacing out but that didn’t mean he would come up finding a romantic way to distract her.

Pursing her lips into a thin line, pulled the tie, choking Tristan’s throat.

"COUGH! COUGH!..." Tristan coughed when the tied around his neck firmly gripped before his sassy wife let go of her hold and brushed his shoulder.

"It’s getting late. So... get yourself ready and head to the office before I pull the tie once again" patting his cheeks she smiled teasingly before she turned around and picked up her handbag and left the room leaving the man surprisingly shocked by her bold move.
