Eve turned sideways to face him. She stared at his cold blue eyes with her hazel, and muttered, "Go to sleep, Alex. I know you must’ve faced a lot of troubles today."

"It’s never a problem when I’m with you," Alex smiled before pulling her into his embrace. "Don’t think of yourself as Alex didn’t feel sleepy at first, but after seeing how Eve was peacefully lying on his arm, sleeping with her guard down, he realized that he might disturb her sleep if he played on his phone.

He decided to kiss her forehead and whispered, "Good night, Sweetheart."

Eve woke up first in the morning to the feeling of something big and hard poking at her. She groaned as she opened her eyes slowly, and saw that Alex was still sleeping while subconsciously rubbing his morning wood on her legs.

Eve’s cheeks reddened. This was a habit Alex had since day one of sleeping together as a couple around seven years ago. She thought he had outgrown his habit, but it didn’t seem to be the case.

She didn’t want to wake him up, knowing that he’d try to initiate some morning quickie before breakfast, so Eve tried to wiggle her way out, only for Alex to trap her with a bear hug and push her head deeper into his chest.

"Where are you going, Sweetheart? It’s still too early," Alex complained while he was still half-asleep. He continued rubbing his manhood and asked, "Do you... want to do it?"

"L-Let go, Alex! I need to work!" Eve struggled as hard as she could to break free to no avail. Alex had always suppressed his strength around Eve, since he was one and a half feet taller than her when she didn’t wear heels, and was a lot stronger.

But when he was asleep or drunk, he would unintentionally show some of his real strength like what he currently did with this bear hug. Eve couldn’t break free.

In the end, she resigned to her fate and complained, "Ugh, stop rubbing it. W-we don’t have time..."

"Mm... let’s do it tonight then..." Alex murmured before falling asleep once more.

Eve could finally slip out of his hug and roll out of the bed before she got trapped again.

She stood at the side of the bed, catching her breath as breaking free from this man was such a chore in the morning. She stared at the sleeping Alex with a resentful gaze as if he had done a grave offense just now.

"Two years have passed, and you’re still the same sleeping bull," Eve complained. She pondered if Alex would eventually calm down as he got older, but seeing that he was already twenty-nine and still acted the same as when they started dating, she began to doubt the sleeping bull would ever change.

’I guess I have to get used to this for the rest of my life...’ Eve thought before she snapped out of it and scolded herself again. ’What the hell were you thinking, Eve?! You wouldn’t live with him for the rest of your life. It’s a year... or two at most!’

Eve ran to the bathroom to get ready for the day, leaving Alex, who was still in deep sleep.

The moment Alex opened his eyes, Eve was already well-dressed for the day, standing in front of the mirror and applying her lipstick.

Alex sat on the bed and stared at her dazedly before saying, "Good morning, Sweetheart."

"Morning. I’ve told the butler to prepare coffee and fruit for breakfast. Don’t ask for donuts, you know it’s not good for your health," Eve said while she was still busy putting on her makeup.

"Mm, but I don’t like fruits..." Alex said.

"Correction, you don’t like sour fruits, so I’ve prepared are the sweet ones. No berries, mangoes, or oranges, so you could eat it clean," Eve added.

Alex continued staring in a daze. For some reason, this situation reminded him of that time in the small rented apartment.

Eve always woke up earlier than Alex, so by the moment he woke up, she was already prepared to go to work and had prepared a cup of hot coffee and fruits for him, the same breakfast she always had in the morning.

Alex hated sour fruits, so when he didn’t see a banana or apple on his plate, he’d secretly steal a donut or two from the fridge for breakfast.

She could’ve just ignored him and go to work immediately, but she took her time telling the butler to prepare breakfast for him, while also taking account of his preference.

’That means she still cares for me, even if she doesn’t say it with her words,’ Alex thought. He had a thin smile but decided to stay silent as he knew that Eve would stop doing this if he called her out.

After all, Eve had thin skin, and was easily embarrassed and shy away from an activity if it embarrassed her too much.

Thus, he stayed silent as he watched her slowly turn towards him while tying her hair on a bun, her usual style to appear taller than her actual 5 feet self. She also put on heels to make sure that she looked imposing enough as the CEO of her company.

"Don’t forget to have a proper lunch, alright? I’ll be back before five and cook dinner, just like I promised," Eve said before grabbing her bag.

She walked towards him and was ready to give a kiss on his cheek like usual, before she realized that would be too much, considering they weren’t dating right now.

She quickly retreated and hastily said, "I-I will leave now, bye!"

Alex chuckled, seeing her running away figure with cherry-red cheeks, like a teenage girl in love.

"Just as I expected. She’d shy away from stuff that’d embarrass her," Alex shrugged. "It takes time to warm up, right, Sweetheart?"
