Jordan gasped when Eve dared to refer to Sir Langford as a ’scumbag’.

And with how she had that twisted grin on her face, Jordan guessed the breakfast between Sir Langford and Miss Carpenter would be nowhere near peaceful.

She wanted to ask Miss Carpenter not to make a scene as she didn’t want to get dragged into the mess just because she said the wrong thing. But her soon-to-be Mistress already walked past her with determined steps, as if she was ready to fight a bull.

’The Head Butler told me that Sir Langford’s true love is a very feisty woman. I guess he is not wrong about that. She is courageous,’ Jordan thought.

She had always seen Sir Langford as a player with very specific taste because he seemed to go after one type of woman based on their appearance. ’I hope nothing will happen to her. The last thing I want to hear is for them to fight, and it ends up with Sir Langford drinking himself to sleep.’

Jordan had been working in this place for a year and had seen through many of Sir Langford’s ups and downs, including many of his flings that walked in and out of the front door.

She stared at Eve, whose beautiful red hair swayed elegantly as she walked, and she noticed something, "Ah, isn’t it weird that all of the women he brought to the mansion are redheads like Miss Carpenter? Is that an important information I should tell her?" Jordan was pondering for a second and told herself. "Eh, I guess not."

Eve stomped her way to the dining hall which wasn’t far from the kitchen. It was quite spacious, with a direct view of the sea from the glass pane, which made this place feel like an exquisite resort rather than a house.

Usually, she would be enjoying the view, but the one she was looking for was now sitting at the dining table, drinking his morning coffee as he stared at the sea for a while before turning his head towards Eve.

Alex had a thin smile as he patted the seat next to him, "Come, I’ve prepared pancakes for you."

Ever wanted to blast him right at that moment. She was pissed knowing that Alex had other women in this mansion because she genuinely thought this mansion was special only for her.

But then, she also realized that she was feeling entitled for no reason.

He had never explicitly mentioned that he recreated everything straight out of the dream journal for her. Maybe it was all in her mind after all.

Thus, all Eve could do was pout and grab the second seat away from him. She dragged the plate of pancake to her position and started drenching it with blueberry syrup.

Alex raised his brow as he realized that Eve was upset.

"What? Did I do something wrong? Or is it because I slept in your bed last night?" Alex asked. He sighed and shrugged, "Oh well, I can’t help it. You used my arm as a pillow, and I was pretty tired last night, so I just slept with you. Besides, I felt very comfortable sleeping next to you."

"I’m sure you also felt comfortable sleeping with other women as well," Eve muttered as she took a big bite of her pancake. "I know you bring other women into this mansion as well."

The grin on Alex’s face vanished instantly.

"Who told you that? Is it a housekeeper from the second floor?" Alex asked. He didn’t remember all of the housekeepers as they came and went based on their contracts. "Give me her name."

"So that you can fire her?" Eve sneered. "So, it’s true. You did bring other women into this mansion. Did you have fun in the same bed we slept on last night as well?"

"No!" Alex denied it vehemently because that was simply untrue. "That room has never been touched by anyone since it’s yours to begin with. But..."

Alex sighed.

He thought that he could conceal it forever, since his true love was finally here, filling this mansion as it was rightfully hers.

But now that the cat was out of the bag, he had no way to deny it.

"Fine, yes, I admit. I slept with a few women when we broke up for the past two years," Alex confessed. "But I never brought them to YOUR room. They don’t deserve any room other than the guest room in this mansion."

"Does that make it somehow redeemable?" Eve asked sarcastically. "Also, we’re still broken up. This is just a business matter, remember? It’s alright, I wasn’t surprised that you’d slept with many women post-breakup. I’ve seen you in many of those celebrity interviews, and you always have a different woman for each interview."

"It’s all for publicity. They are the main actresses that starred in a movie with me, and I only have two movies so far, so they are just two women," Alex said, trying to find a way to appease her, knowing that Eve would keep pestering him about this. "About those women, I slept with, I never dated any of them, it was all just one-night flings. Unlike you, who dated MY cousin after we broke up in less than three months."

"Uhk—!" Eve choked on her pancake. She drank the water to stop the choking and stared at him with a bit of guilt in her eyes. "I-it was lo—"

"And don’t tell me it was love. Don’t you realize how different your reaction was when you and I broke up compared to when Pierre betrayed you?" Alex attacked her with the truth. "I know you, Eve. You hate traitors the most, that’s why you don’t hesitate to counterattack against Pierre. So, how are you going to convince me that you have been in love with him for the past two years?"

Eve fell silent after that.

She was speechless because it should have been her who attacked him for sleeping with many women after they broke up, but he countered with a fatal shot that made her unable to fight back.

"At least he is honest about everything... up until now," Eve murmured. "I don’t mind that you slept with those women when we broke up. We’re not attached anyway."

"You’re right, we’re not attached," Alex nodded, but his voice sounded unenthusiastic.

"Just... make sure you tell me first if you want to bring another woman into this mansion. So I can leave, and there won’t be a misunderstanding."
