Chapter 97: At The Restaurant

Jules’ pov

"Where to, your highness?"

The driver, Roy called out and Blaze let out a sigh almost immediately.

"The usual. He needs to eat." Blaze responded to Roy who let out a snicker.

"Just him? You aren’t eating as well? And what about me?"

"You can take care of yourself." Blaze huffed in response on a scoff, pulling me closer to his chest with his hand around my shoulder. I suddenly wished I was sitting across his laps right now. Whenever I was across his laps, it was easier to lay across his chest that way.

His chest was the perfect pillow ever. It was rigged with muscles but it was also soft in a way. I was undoubtedly obsessed with it, even though the sight of it still get me feeling extremely flustered.

After a little while, the car pulled to a stop in the front of a large building and Blaze finally pulled his arm away from my shoulder.

"You alright?" He asked, peering down at me and I nodded as I stifled a yawn. It had felt so comfortable across his chest that I had started to feel a little drowsy.

He pushed the car door open and stepped out before holding a hand out for me. The sight made my heart flutter around in the middle of my chest as I accepted it and got helped out of the car in the next moment.

The building we had arrived at looked like a mall, and my guess was confirmed we we got inside.

It instantly reminded me of the time I went out with Kai to go see a movie with him. I hated that I was thinking about him right now and I instantly shoved every thought of him away.

The mall was extremely large and there was a lot of options to pick from when it comes to where to eat at.

"Where do you want us to go?" He asked, eyes focused on me as he spoke.

As I glanced around, no one was paying us any attention and I felt glad about that because it made me feel normal, like we were both like every other normal people present here right now.

"You pick something." I responded, biting on my bottom lip for a few seconds as I waited for his response. If I hadn’t done that, then I’d have to spend minutes worrying about if I was picking the right option and if I wouldn’t be disappointing him with my option.

It just seemed like a lot of stress for my head right now, making decisions sometimes stress me out so I avoid it whenever I could.

Blaze didn’t seem to mind, he pointed at one and instantly began to lead me towards it. He was holding my hand, like he didn’t want me to get lost and that left me feeling tingly all over as I fell into steps beside him.

"What about Roy?" I asked because I suddenly remembered him. He did mention something about being hungry, if I’m remembering correctly.

"Oh, don’t think about him, he’s gonna take care of himself just fine." Blaze responded as we stepped into the restaurant that looked like it was too clean and classy for most regular people.

"B- but he said he was hungry..." I trailed off as I slid into the seat Blaze held out for me.

"He was just messing with me, bunny." He explained as he took the seat opposite me and picked up the menu laid out on the table.

"Who is he though? Is he your driver...?" I asked, because I had been curious about him since the moment I noticed him in the driver’s seat.

It didn’t seem like he was a stranger to Blaze, which was why I was really curious.

"Oh, no. He’s not. He’s just... someone who works for me." He explained and I blinked once before slowly nodding.

"Oh." I mumbled as I picked the menu before I absentmindedly glanced through it.

"You two seemed close, in a way." I mumbled with my eyes still on the menu. When I placed it down and glanced up, it was to meet blaze watching me with an unreadable expression on.

"We aren’t close, we’re just... a worker and an employer." He explained, a pinched look on his face.

As I stared at him, I wasn’t sure if my intuition was correct, but it sounded like he was trying to convince himself that.

I didn’t say anything about that and decided to talk about something else, not wanting him to still remain tense.

"What are you having?"

It was like he easily broke out of that weird tense energy around him in a heartbeat because he took a final look at the menu and placed it down before clicking on the iPad beside the menu.

"I’ll be having this." He handed the iPad to me as he spoke. Our choices were almost alike, and I put in my order as well without wasting any more time.

"Now that I’m here, I kind of feel hungry." I breathed out as I let my eyes wander around the inside of the restaurant. It was filled up, almost all the seats were taken, but because of how spacious it is, it still made it appear free and not stuffy in any way.

A large flatscreen television was at the far end of the interior and it seemed like it was on a news station which was currently reporting today’s weather forecast.

Looks like today was gonna be sunny, which is exactly what I needed, because I have a whole lot of things to do today.

After breakfast with Blaze, I planned to go see Andrian.

His witch friend was gonna be present and she’d get that book open, then we’d try breaking out my powers which are currently locked away.

Apart from that, I have another reason why I was going to see Andrian today.

I was going to see him today because I was gonna ask him more questions, because I seriously want to come clean to Blaze about him. I hated that I was still hiding my true identity from him, and I hated lying to him even more.
