Chapter 82: New Developments

Jules’ pov

News of the principal’s death has already spread around. The entire hall was a flurry of gossip, with different groups forming completely different theories.

"I’m so sad I didn’t get to suck his cock before he died though." I overhead a lanky boy say to his friends who all crackled while calling out his name.

"What? He’s hot! Only a blind person won’t be able to tell." The student responded and I snorted as I walked past them. If only they knew how dangerous said hot principal was.

I was meeting up with Taylor and Josh, because I know they’d be worried sick about me seeing as I texted them about being in trouble and needing help last night, but was unable to come to the phone before the principal retrieved it and smashed it.

Blaze hasn’t want me to leave this morning when I had been about to roll out of bed, and as he snuggled into me and clung to me like I was a snuggling toy, I wanted to do nothing but to remain in his arms and keep feeling his heartbeat against my body as he slept. But because I knew I needed to see my friends, I didn’t have another choice.

Before leaving, Blaze gave me a toe curling kiss and reminded me to return to him super early. As I exited the dorm, I had been unable to stop thinking about said kiss, the fact that I could still feel my lips tingling wasn’t helping in any way.

I spotted Taylor and Josh at the far end of the corner and I rushed towards them. As soon as they sighted me, they let out loud squeals and enveloped me in a super tight hug, one which I eagerly returned.

"You’re alright." Taylor whispered in disbelief, looking me up and down and I nodded enthusiastically.

"Yeah, I am." I responded and Taylor enveloped me into another hug, squeezing me tightly.

"I was so worried." He whispered against my shoulder and I squeezed him harder before the hug finally ended. Moments later, we began to make our way out the hall because Josh suggested we step out so we could talk more privately.

"What happened?" Josh asked almost immediately, with Taylor’s blinking at me with wide, curious eyes.

"Before your texts came in, we were already worried because of how late it was. But we still kept hoping that you were fine, but after your texts came in, and because you were unable to answer our calls, we knew something was undoubtedly wrong, especially after the call suddenly stopped going through." Josh was speaking this time.

"We didn’t know who to meet, Kim’s number wasn’t going through either. We contemplated asking Blaze to come find you... but we couldn’t go to him, because well, no one ever dares goes to him. So we were powerless. Somehow, we knew going directly to the school wasn’t gonna help after Kim literally told us you guys were gonna be speaking to the principal, before you went along with him. We ended up going to Kai though, because he was our last hope."

"Kai?" I echoed and they nodded at once.

"Yup. We were so surprised when he made some calls, then after a while, he told us you had been rescued. Obviously, we didn’t believe him because it wasn’t like he had any connection to begin with, we only went to him because we had no one else to meet and we’d have gone crazy if we hadn’t told someone else at least. We couldn’t sleep throughout the night, and after hearing that the principal passed away last night, we feared it also involved you and that you’d probably been killed as well... but then you appeared, completely unscathed." Taylor spoke this time, eyes filled with worry and confusion.

I pushed my hair out of my face as I spoke. "Kim did set me up, and the principal was in on it. They were about to bring me to someone else – a group of people... but Blaze saved me." The last part came out in a whisper.

As expected, their mouths fell open. "Blaze??!!!" Taylor screeched.

"How? How was he aware of what was happening? How did it happen?" Josh questioned and I shrugged.

"I- I think it’s the mate bond." I admitted tentatively and their eyes widened even more.

"But he did save me." I affirmed, chest filling up with so much warmth.

Taylor’s mouth opened and closed a few times. "He actually rescued you?!" He questioned and I pursed my lips, feeling defensive hackles starting to rise inside of me.

"He did, like he has done a handful of times to be honest." I further revealed, watching the identical shock on their faces.

"B- but ... Blaze is a monster and he doesn’t save people. He makes people suffer, he kills people when bored. He’s literally a psychopath and he–" Taylor was still speaking when I abruptly cut him off.

"Oh my god, Taylor, please stop."

Josh’s gaping mouth finally snapped closed. Taylor’s was still hanging open.

"You guys... Blaze isn’t a monster. H- he saved me, he has saved me a lot, and I honestly don’t understand how that keeps happening. He has never actually hurt me, as you can all see. I don’t think he’s a monster, because I don’t think monsters save people, or do you?"

They were silent and I continued, more carefully this time.

"I think most of the things said about him aren’t true, and he’s definitely misunderstood a lot."

Taylor and Josh exchanged a glance before Taylor cried out. "Oh my gosh, Jules, you’ve fallen in love!"

"What?!" I screeched as my heart flew into my throat, not expecting that at all. Meanwhile Taylor bounced as he spoke.

"That explains it. You’re suddenly defending him, you’re defending someone who the entire school is afraid of, someone who literally controls the school! Have you been hypnotized, Jules? Is this a love potion working?" He demanded and I frowned.

"I don’t think that’s the–"

"Why are you defending a monster then?" Taylor asked, cutting me off and I sighed.

"He’s not a monster, Taylor."

"Perhaps just to you, Jules. So that’s probably why you feel this way. To every other person who gets frightened and triggered at the mention of his name, he’s a monster to them." Josh finally spoke up.

As I stared at him and Taylor, I didn’t know what to say or how to assimilate their opinions. They all sound right from their own perspectives, which was pretty valid.

So where does that leave me?

I was still deep in thought when I got a text from Andrian with a new address, and I rose to my feet almost immediately.

"I have to go guys, we’ll finish this conversation later." I called out to them and they waved while urging me to be safe.

On stepping into a different office today, the first thing Andrian said to me as soon as he let me in was so shocking that I grew frozen at once, card slipping from my grip.

"I think I’ve finally found a way to unseal your magic!"
