Chapter 80: You Owe Him Your Life.
Blaze’s pov
Eugene’s confession had taken me aback, rendering me confused. That was the last person I expected to be involved in this entire situation.
As I stared at him, I took in the bleeding which was starting to slow down since he was a vampire and was undoubtedly already healing.
I leaned forward moments later, not missing the confused look of disbelief painted across Jules’ face.
"What?" I demanded and I watched as Eugene’s eyes darted around for a moment. He coughed out a bit of blood at first as he tried to speak.
"I’m not lying, I swear." He continued and I scoffed.
"Eugene, you had better give me a detailed explanation right now." I snapped, watching as he jolted, wincing in pain and choking on blood once again.
"Your father a- asked me to get him and keep him here, t- that he was gonna come get him from me." Eugene continued. So far, what he was saying didn’t add up.
"Who else is involved?" I demanded and he listed a few names, who were all a part of the higher ups of the school.
"I swear, I didn’t mean to go against your warming, I promise. I was forced to–" He was still speaking when I delivered a punch to the side of his mouth, enjoying how his face whipped sideways.
"I’m aware that you’ve been eying a bigger position, you bastard. It’s obvious you did this because of your own greed, not just because you were forced to." I informed him, watching as his face widened in horror at being called out.
"I’m really sorry, Blaze, I swear!" He cried out and I snickered.
"Of course you are. You should be. You will be, till your last breath." I informed him before walking away. I faced the wall and pulled out my phone, shooting Roy a quick text, reminding him to start working on hacking into the CCTV of this hotel and wiping everything involved my presence off.
My father being involved in something that concerns Jules doesn’t sound good in any way. It only sounds like trouble was around the corner.
Him being involved in questionable things like this wasn’t a new or shocking thing. My father was one of the biggest sponsors of the school, so of course he’d be involved in a bunch of disturbing stuff relating to the school. But it was still confusing that he was involved in this particular one.
For one, my father was straight, so the fact that he might desire Jules was... well, it was out of the question. There’s got to be another reason why he suddenly has his eyes on him. Whatever the reason might be, it’s certainly not gonna be good.
"Did they tell you why he wanted Jules out of everyone?" I asked Eugene who horridly shook his head, sweating buckets.
I walked past him, heading towards the television console and picking up one of the decorative gilded metal finials sitting there. It was a shiny bronze, made with metal, with a very sharp tip. It was exactly what I needed.
Once in front of Eugene again, I gripped his hair tightly, holding his head in place. "You should never have gone against my warning." I reminded him before stabbing his heart with the metal, shoving hard till it got fully embedded in his heart. He coughed out blood, eyes and veins bulging as he screamed. I gripped his hair tightly, staring straight into his eyes as he struggled in my grip until he began to twitch. I didn’t let up until he stopped moving, red eyes going completely dim and body going limp.
When I glanced at Kim, terror was starkly written over his wet face. He flinched when our eyes locked and I snorted before motioning him over.
"Come over here, Kim."
He scrambled to his feet, tears rolling down his cheeks as he hurried towards me.
I stared at him for a few seconds before shaking my head once again.
"Here’s the thing. I don’t have much time right now so I can’t give you a slow death like I want to, so go fetch me any object of your choice which you’d prefer to die from." I informed him and I watched as he gasped shakily before falling to the ground, hands clasped before him as he sobbed.
"I’m so sorry, I really am! I really didn’t want to be involved, I swear it, I’m so sorry, please don’t kill me." He cried desperately, limbs trembling and I scoffed before crouching before him.
"But you’re already involved, Kim. I gave you a warning. You were supposed to heed to it, not be an associate in harming my mate, so get the hell up and go fetch me something which would make your death incredibly fast."
He cried even harder. "I was forced to, I swear. The actual leader of the fraternity threatened to kill me if I didn’t help Eugene."
That pulled an amused laugh from me. "How ironic, so you prefer to die by my hands than your leader’s?" I drawled and he shook his head urgently.
"I’ll do anything, I swear it, I really am sorry, I never wanted to hurt him or be an associate in this situation, I just didn’t have a choice." He sobbed and I scoffed before rising to my feet.
"You did have a choice, Kim. You could have come to me with the information you had beforehand, then you wouldn’t be in this situation right now." I pointed out and he reached out and grabbed my foot, sobbing against my calm.
I reached down and gripped his throat tight, taking him along with me as I rose to my full height. "Touch me with those filthy hands again and I’m gonna shatter them." I snarled into his face, and then I grinned while regarding him closely.
"Oh wait, I can actually snap your throat this way." I drawled and he began to plead all over again.
"Shut it." I growled and he flinched, falling silent at once. I dropped him and walked past him, heading towards a shocked looking Jules who was looking like he has seen a ghost. I felt a little bad, he wasn’t supposed to see me this way, at least not yet.
I held a hand out to him, watching as he blinked at it once before accepting it and I tugged him up at once, hand settling over his shoulders as i led him towards Kim who was in tears on the ground.
"Did he hurt you, bunny?" I asked a startled Jules who hastily shook his head, eyes settling on Kim.
"Are you sure?"
"He asked the principal to hypnotize me, and he– I think that’s all." He mumbled and I hummed, while contemplating on killing Kim or not. Kim was someone who knows a lot of secrets and has a lot of connections with the higher ups. It sounds like a waste to end his life.
"Want me to kill him, bunny?" I absentmindedly asked Jules whose eyes went extremely wide as he shook his head, looking bewildered that I was asking him that question. It made me snort in amusement, because I already knew what his answer was gonna be beforehand. He didn’t look like he’d be able to hurt a fly to begin with.
"But he almost had you killed. Don’t you think he should pay for that with his life?" I continued, watching his mouth open and close a couple of times.
"I- I don’t know." He ended up mumbling and I snorted before massaging his shoulder, resisting the urge to scent him right now. His scent indicated that he was scared, nervous, confused and worked up.
I dropped my hand from his shoulder and crouched before Kim once again, expression darkening at once.
"This is what’s gonna happen. You owe Jules your life, for one. And that means you’re gonna show your gratitude by working towards his safety, is that understood?"
He nodded vigorously and I scoffed.
"You’re gonna stay here after we leave. You must be here when my father and the rest of the higher ups arrive. You’re to tell them you and Eugene got ambushed and the ambushers took Jules along with them. If they decide to kill you after that, that’s up to them. If they decide to frame you for Eugene’s death, that’s on you as well. If they decide to spare your life, they’d undoubtedly put you up with the task to get Jules for them a second time. And that’s when you’re gonna come to me tomorrow and report your new orders to me. Are we clear?"
Once again, he nodded vigorously, hands clasped before him.
"I’ll find out if you try to outsmart you, you know I will. If you try anything funny, I’m gonna make your death a really long and painful one."
"Thank you so much, so much, I promise to make you not regret it." He spoke profusely from his position on the ground.
"Say thank you to Jules. You really do owe him your life." I reminded him, and he proceeded to do just that. Jules stiffened against me and awkwardly nodded at Kim, clearly not used to being thanked.
I took one last glance at Kim before maneuvering Jules around till he was fully facing me. He blinked once, a bunch of emotions flooding his face and I wrapped my hand around his middle and the back of his head, tugging his face against my chest.
And then as my eyes fell close, I teleported away from the hotel room, taking Jules along with me.
