Chapter 79: Saved

Jules’ pov

After being forced into the car with the principal and Kim this time, I was fully aware that I was undoubtedly in danger. I kept demanding to be released until the principal ordered Kim to shove a piece of clothing into my mouth to shut off, muffling my screams at once. I kept desperately willing for my powers to come back to me, even for a fleeting moment. I was yet to master most of my abilities before my magic got sealed off, but I’d still be able to successfully escape with a very very easy spell.

Unfortunately for me, my powers still remained locked, and it didn’t seem like i’d be getting saved from my plight tonight. The principal kept accepting calls throughout the car ride, informing people that he was bringing ’the boy’ which was obviously me, to them.

When he pulled up in front of a hotel, my panic tripled and I almost passed out. He was let into the hotel without question and once in a very large room, he threw me into the bed while Kim began to pace around. I rolled off the bed and struggled with the bind around my hand while silently asking myself why I had agreed to get into the principal’s car in the first place despite having doubts.

I really am really dumb.

I berated myself over and over again while each screen I made got muffled. The principal got off his twentieth call and stop beside me on the ground, peering down at me.

"What’s the point of you struggling? They’re gonna be here soon anyway." He drawled, a laugh rolling off his tongue and I recoiled before starting to struggle with the binds once again.

"You know, no student has ever stressed me out like you did. You gave me a headache and made this job unnecessarily more complicated than usual, but I still ended up getting what I wanted anyway. Who’s the smartest now?" He demanded, dissolving into another round of laughter and I glared at him, wishing there was a way I could get back at him.

"Didn’t we do a job, Kim?" The principal asked a pacing Kim who threw him a whiltering look before stalking off to the table and grabbing a bottle of alcohol, downing a few mouthfuls at once.

"Can I leave now?" Kim demanded, worriedly biting on his bottom lip as his gaze grew unfocused a little. I watched as the principal rolled his eyes.

"Can you fucking relax? Nothing’s gonna happe—" He was still speaking through the pleased smile tugging at his lips when two knocks echoed off the door and he trailed off at once, growing tense. Kim’s eyes shot open and I watched his hands tremble as he carefully set the alcohol down.

I began to struggle with a new vigor but the principal delivered a hard kick to my stomach as he walked past me, knocking the breath out of my insides and sending a sharp pain shooting through me.

"Shut the hell up." He angrily swore at me as he walked towards the door and paused behind it, pressing his ear against the door. My heart was pounding fast and the frightened feeling inside of me resched another new height.

"Sir, is that you?" The principal whispered and I stopped breathing, heart almost flying out my throat.

"Open the fucking door, Eugene. Prepare to meet your demise as well."

I blinked once, then twice, right before my mouth fell open, eyes almost rolling out of their sockets.

How...?

That was undoubtedly Blaze’s voice. If I feared that I was hallucinating, a quick glance at Kim’s terror stricken face proved to me that I had indeed heard right. Blaze was indeed here.

He’s here.

He’s really here!

"Oh god." Kim whispered in terror, sounding choked up as he dropped to his knees. Meanwhile the principal was still frozen in the same spot, eyes widened and mouth hanging open.

My heartbeat accelerated even more and I could feel my heart fluttering uncontrollably when he knocked again.

"I’m so dead." Kim whispered tearfully, mouth wobbling in fright as his gaze helplessly darted towards me, while the principal regarded the door like it was some frightening object. He cursed over and over again, voice cracking as he scrambled for his phone, hands shaking as he tried to undoubtedly try to dial a number.

However, the doorknob got bent and I watched in bewilderment as Blaze pushed the door open, a door which was locked for the inside. The shock I was feeling was mirrored on Kim’s and the principal’s face as Blaze stood in the doorway in all his glory, eyes dark and hair falling into his eyes.

From the corner of my eyes, I noticed the principal’s phone slipping from his grip as he stumbled backwards. A frightened scream tore past Kim’s mouth at the same time, hands trembling as he gripped his pants tightly.

Blaze’s eyes zeroed in on me in a heartbeat and I felt every part of me light up, a shiver engulfing me for a few seconds as a rush of relief flooded through every part of my insides. His dark eyes trailed over every inch of my body and then he stepped into the room and gently pushed the door close, causing Kim’s breath to stutter in fear.

He walked past a stricken looking principal, eyes never leaving mine for a second till he was crouching beside me. A bunch of emotion engulfed me as he carefully began to untie my hands and legs. Relief, gratefulness, happiness, and some other unidentified emotions gathered in the middle of my chest until I felt my eyes start to string.

"Are you hurt?" He inquired softly and I felt a sob hitch in my throat as I blinked at him while trying to comprehend how he was here right now, saving me once again.

How?

His hands massaged my wrists before he pulled me into his chest, hands settling around me. I gripped him tightly, body trembling and eyes squeezed tightly as I tried not to cry. I breathed in his familiar scent, body melting against his chest when he nuzzled my chin before pulling away and brushing my hair out of my face.

I was about to say something when he spoke, voice so sharp, it made my breath cease at first.

"I dare you to take another step, Eugene."

I blinked in confusion for a few seconds before I realized who he was referring to. The principal had moved a step towards the door, and I wondered how Blaze had been able to tell while facing me.

Blaze stroked my cheek one last time before rising to his feet and then he faced the principal, whose facial expression grew more frightened as he backtracked till his back hit the wall.

Blaze let out a chuckle while shaking his head, and then he walked towards the table and picked up the opened bottle of alcohol.

"What’s happening, Eugene? Care to explain to me what my mate is doing here with you?" Blaze asked while lazily regarding the bottle before returning his gaze back to the principal whose eyes kept darting towards the door.

I watched as the principal snarled and zapped towards the door in a flash, as fast as lightning. It all happened in a few seconds, I expected the principal to be out the door in the next moment. However, when he stopped moving, Blaze wasn’t in the same spot any longer. All I felt was a sudden whoosh of air and next, Blaze was beside the door, pinning the principal to the wall with a tight hold around his throat.

My mouth dropped open and I reared back, completely shocked beyond comprehension.

Did Blaze just move with lightning speed? A vampire’s ability??

The sound of the principal howling in pain tugged me back to reality and my mouth dropped open even more, causing me to unconsciously crawl backwards in shock at the image before me.

The alcohol bottle had somehow gotten broken, and the jagged ends were deep in the side of the principal’s throat, blood pouring down his shoulders, soaking through his suit and I found myself recoiling, eyes bulging in disbelief.

"Start talking, you bastard. You know I don’t have all night." Blaze snarled and I found myself flinching in fright right before Blaze heaved the principal off the ground before flinging him right into the table with a dozen bottles of alcohol on it. The table instantly collapsed and the bottles shattered loudly, piercing through the principal’s body in a flash and wringing out a strangled scream from him. Blood filled up his mouth when he screamed again and I let out a gasp as my hand flew over my mouth, heart in my throat.

Since when could vampires bleed? I thought they couldn’t??!

"These little ass scratches aren’t gonna kill you, so start talking before I set your body on fire. Who the hell sent you?" Blaze growled and I found myself flinching, panic gripping my chest. This is a completely new Blaze, one I’ve never witnessed before.

A few inches away from me, Kim was still on his knees, sobbing hard while his entire body trembled.

The principal struggled to speak through the blood in his mouth and I watched as Blaze reached down and gripped his hair, jerking his head up and delivering a solid punch into his cheek which sent the blood flying out of his mouth along with a tooth.

"I gave you a warning, didn’t I?" Blaze echoed out as he delivered another punch into the principal’s left eye. He pulled away after that and ran his fingers through his hair, eyes trained on the roof and chest heaving, almost like he was trying to control himself.

"Who sent you?" He asked in a calm tone after about a minute, expression giving nothing away.

The principal struggled to speak, one of his eyes was shut and starting to swell. Blood leaked from the side of his mouth as he finally spoke, words stuttered and voice filled with stark terror.

"Y- your f- father."
