Chapter 78: Finding Jules
Chapter 78: Finding Jules
Blaze’s pov
As I walked down the hallway, I silently wondered who it could be that succeeded in successfully getting a hold of Jules. I had a feeling it was someone from this premises, but I knew he was no longer on this premises, I could feel it in my chest, I could feel how far away he was from me and how scared he was.
Anger pulsed through veins and as I shook my hand and stepped into the elevator, I knew damn well that blood was undoubtedly gonna be shed tonight.
On stepping out of the elevator, a few students who were about to get into the elevator sighted me and gasped before scrambling aside, head casted down as I walked past them and exited the building.
The last time I saved Jules, it had been easy to figure out where he was because it had taken place in the same premise where I had been on. It had been easy to let that kicking feeling lead me right to him.
But right now, it was the complete opposite, and I wasn’t actually sure of where to start. I couldn’t teleport to somewhere I haven’t seen before, so I had nothing to work with right now. With a sigh, I glanced sideways and fished my phone from my pocket, dialing a number moments later.
The night was windy, hints of sand and flowers in the air, which made me think of Jules and my jaw ticked as I pressed the phone against my ear as soon as it got answered.
"Your highness." The gruff, windy voice drifted into my ear and I scoffed.
"What did I tell you about you using that title for me?" I asked, and I knew he currently had a sheepish look on his face as he sighed.
"Ah, apologies, boss. It slips my mind every time." He responded and I snorted as I began to walk forward, heading for the gate of the building.
"What have you got? Lay it on me." I demanded as I got to the gate. The security placed at the gate stiffened on noticing me before bowing and hurriedly pulling the gate open and letting me out. It was currently past ten, students weren’t supposed to be let out by this time, but of course, no rules applied to me.
"I need a few minutes." He responded and I rolled my eyes before stopping beside a tree and leaning against it.
"Hurry." I rapt, fishing out a pack of cigarettes and lighting up a stick. In the background of the call, I could hear his fingers moving in a flash across the laptop.
He was a guru when it comes to hacking any and everything, which was why I refused to let go of him since the moment we crossed paths. His name was Roy, and he began to work for me after I spared his life one dark night.
He had been fifteen back then, and had accompanied three grown men who had been sent to murder me. It had almost been comical, how he clearly stood out from the bunch, and how he awkwardly handled his gun while practically tripping over his feet. As I watched him through the shadows that night, I remembered telling myself that he was gonna end up taking his own life first before mine at that rate.
After effortlessly taking the life of those three grown men, he had dropped on his knees and begged for mercy, promising his life to me while expressing regret and revealing how he was forced to walk in his father’s footsteps. That had piped my interest a little and I engaged him in a little conversation after that. Because I knew how much I needed important allies, after discovering and confirming that he indeed had the skill of a beast, I decided to spare his life.
We had been working together since then, three years ago.
"No movements from anyone we have our eyes on so far... well, except for Eugene." He finally spoke up, and at the end of his sentence, I abruptly pulled away from the tree and put out the cigarette with my shoes.
Eugene.
That fucking bastard.
Eugene was the principal of Carnivals, whom I remember giving a warning to, a few days ago.
"Where the hell is he?" I demanded.
The sounds of fingers tapping away on keyboards filled the speaker of the phone for a few moments before he responded.
"He went to Hillstone nightclub... but he’s not there any longer though." He responded and I instructed him to look into the CCTV and rewind it, just so I’d be sure of what I’d be doing next.
"Ah, boss... your mate was with him. He accompanied him into the club, with another boy... but it didn’t seem like he was forced though... although, wait... now they exited the club together after a while, but your mate’s hands were tied up." Roy recounted and I breathed out a chuckle of disbelief while shaking my head.
How dare that slime go against my order?
Fucking bastard. I’m gonna snap his throat tonight.
"Can you track his car? We still have it linked to the system, right?" I asked and he responded immediately.
"Yes, boss. I think they’re heading for a hotel. But why did your mate willingly accompany him to the club at first? Wasn’t he aware of what they wanted to do with him?" Roy asked, sounding genuinely confused and I snorted.
It’s Jules we’re talking about, of course he doesn’t have the slightest idea. Somehow, it was like he had no sense of danger. For someone who’s always in the midst of messes, he sure as hell has a very horrible sense of judgment.
Which was why I really needed to have a talk with him as soon as possible.
"Keep an eye on the car, Roy." I instructed and he responded at once.
"On it, boss."
I contemplated lighting another cigarette but decided against it. I felt restless and I hated the feeling. It was unusual for me to experience restlessness, and I knew Jules was solely responsible for evoking this feeling in me.
"The car is pulling up at the hotel, boss." Roy announced, breaking through my thoughts.
"Send me a picture of the hotel." I instructed, because I couldn’t teleport without having an image of where I’m supposed to materialize at.
Seconds later, my phone pinged and I opened Roy’s Inbox, eyes landing on an image of said hotel.
I let my eyes fall close moments later. The wind and ground shifted around me, and after a few seconds, my eyes slid open, focused on the front of the hotel’s large building.
I pocketed the phone and zapped through the entrance of the hotel in a pace so fast, only a vampire would be able to catch it.
Once in the hotel, I could feel Jules’ presence, confirming that I was indeed in the correct place. The kicking, panicked feeling emitting from Jules has grown even larger in my chest, and since we were currently on the same premise, I could undoubtedly materialize to where he was currently being held at, but I decided against doing that, choosing to arrive there through the door instead.
It didn’t take me long to get to the room. It was on the last floor of the hotel, thirty floors high. I stood in front of the door and knocked twice.
A few moments later, Eugene’s voice rang out, unsure and tentatively.
"Sir, is that you?"
I scoffed before responding, voice sharp and cold.
"Open the fucking door, Eugene. Prepare to meet your demise as well."
