Chapter 200: ‘it’s not the same thing’

"You’re cute." Blaze finally commented after a few minutes and I blinked in confusion, that was the last thing I expected him to say. We had just been talking about how I never want him to ever consider dying in my place an option and he was talking about how cute I am minutes later.
As if reading my mind, he brushed my hair out of my face, palm grazing my cheek as he continued. "That you think you’d be able to stop me if I ever chose to do that. It’s very cute. You’re so cute, bunny."
I spluttered, blinking again. "Blaze!" I called out just as he rolled his eyes before his arms slid around my body. He rolled out of the bed and got to his feet, picking me up as he moved and I squealed for a moment before grasping his shoulders even though I was certain he’d never drop me.
He arched a brow at me for a moment before he began to walk to the other side of the spacious room, and that was when I finally noticed the door there.
"Blaze." I called out again, tightening my hold around his shoulders a little as I spoke. I wanted us to fully wrap up that conversation, I didn’t want us to leave it hanging, because it’s something really important.
He pushed the door open, revealing a large bathroom before setting me on my feet and then he stared down at me, brows arched again. He was so insanely attractive right now, like he always is. His hair framed his face and dipped into his eyes a little, and the sides of his lips were slightly twitching right now.
"I- I was being serious. I don’t want..." I began to speak but ended up trailing off when he cupped my cheeks, tilting my head further backwards right before he began to speak.
"We’re never gonna be in a situation that would warrant that, bunny. So stop thinking about it, hm? No matter what situation it is, I’d easily get us teleported, neither of us would have to die, does that sound good to you?"
I bit on my bottom lip as I listened to him, and even though what he said was logical, I still want to be on the same page as him.
"You’re right, but if we’re ever in a situation where you can’t teleport or something, don’t consider..."
He chuckled this time. "You’re worrying your pretty head off, bunny. There’d never be a situation like that, I’d always be able to teleport." He explained and I slowly nodded. I know that I was being unnecessarily paranoid right now, I just couldn’t help it. After he mentioned dying, the seed had been planted in my head ever since.
"Don’t ever consider that an option, Blaze. I mean it." My voice was lower this time and I’d have averted my gaze if his two hands weren’t currently holding my face. I noticed his eyes significantly softened, right before his thumb began to massage my cheek.
"You care about me that much, hm?" He teased, clearly trying to lighten the mood but I nodded eagerly, ever serious.
"I do, so much." I responded without thinking twice and Blaze blinked once, mouth parting a little. He stared up at the roof for a moment before his eyes locked with mine for a moment.
"Say we’re in a hypothetical situation but in reverse and I’m the one in danger, can you give up your life for me?" He asked and I nodded again, not needing to think about the question twice.
"Of course. In a heartbeat." I meant every word. I’d readily give up my life for him. He has protected me more times than I can count, if there’s a chance whereby I can be the one to protect him, I’d do it without hesitation.
His eyes searched mine for a few seconds before he let out a ragged breath.
"And you think that’s gonna be fair to me? If you die and leave me alone in this world?" He asked next and I spluttered, blinking a few times.
"See? You’re not okay with it either!" I accused and this time, he let out a snort with a confident shake of his head.
"That’s different, bunny." He informed me and I shook my head vehemently, wanting to argue some more but he leaned down and pressed a firm kiss against my lips, and the words died down in my throat.

After the shower, I dressed in a pair of comfortable dark jeans and a dark colored tank top. Breakfast was waiting in the sitting room when I made my way over there and Blaze revealed that he had the house send it up minutes ago.
As I set up a plate, he told me he was gonna shot Kim a text, asking him to meet up with us in school after he returns, reminding me of the fact that we’d be returning back to carnivals today.
In a way, I was looking forward to that. I had thought leaving the school for this trip was gonna be less dangerous for me, but it turned out to be the most danger filled weeks I’ve lived through in my life. At least back in the fucked up school, I didn’t have to worry about people tailing me randomly.
Before I checked my phone, I already knew I was gonna meet missed calls from Andrian. He didn’t disappoint, there were a handful of missed calls from him along with a text of him asking me to call him, and that we needed to talk.
I let out a scoff as I glanced away from the phone for a moment. I’m never gonna meet up with him again, for one. Now that I’m returning back to school– against his will, we’re technically no longer on good terms, and I’m certain he’s already aware that I’m no longer clueless like he assumed.
I haven’t the slightest clue of how this particular situation is gonna unfold, but one thing I’m certain of, is that I don’t want anything to do with Andrian again– aside from confronting and calling him out on all the lies he had fed me since he came into my life.
