Chapter 175: D-Day

Jules’ pov

Today is the last day before we’re supposed to return back to school.

Two weeks went by in a flash, but somehow, it felt like we spent way longer than two weeks here. Blaze said it was because of the amount of things that happened in that duration.

At the start of these two weeks, I was extremely scared of Blaze and had been convinced that I wouldn’t even survive a night with him.

And after two weeks, I had gotten so close to him, been protected by him more times than I can count, and I’ve also grown to understand him so much.

In those same two weeks, I got into so much mess, got in danger countless times because danger always seemed to be lounging around me.

Today is the day of the competition. The day whereby a neighboring school is always gonna come by with their own students; then those students are supposed to battle against us in various sports. After that one time that I joined tennis practice whereby Blaze was present as well, I hadn’t shown up in practice since then. Blaze told me he’d take care of it and surprisingly, I wasn’t questioned for no longer attending practice or that I wouldn’t be playing with them on the field today. That proved that Blaze indeed welded a lot of power around here.

I was reminded of those powers once again when he told me we didn’t have to go down to the competition this morning. I had been nervous because today was the day Andrian said he was gonna come get me, but after Blaze assumed that we didn’t need to show up, even though it was mandatory for every student to be present, I had felt most of my worries fall away.

Right now, I am currently packing my stuff into my box.

The last time I did this was that night when I almost lost to Blaze. I instantly pushed that thought away because I hated thinking about that night. But in a way, I loved thinking about it because that was the same night that I completely bared my soul to him and told him everything about me which I’d been keeping a secret from him.

The shower suddenly stopped, indicating that Blaze was done with showering and I knew he’d be out soon. I refocused on my box, loving how everything smelled so strongly of him as I threw each piece of fabric into my box. It made me feel tingly all over and it also made me feel owned, like that was a reminder of who I belonged to.

He hated whenever I used scent blockers, which means I wasn’t sure of how I was gonna handle resuming back to school.

And what about the mating mark? He said he wanted us to officially get mated, and I wanted that too, so that bitches like Landon can stop being delusional and realize that Blaze also belonged to me the way I belonged to him.

That thought made me blush a little and I press my face against the shirt I was holding, which turned out to be one of Blaze’s. I inhaled deeply, breathing his scent in and letting it fill up my lungs.

"How cute."

I instantly stiffened and tugged the shirt off my face, cheeks heating up even more as I cleared my throat and shoved the shirt into my box without folding it. As my eyes scanned the content in my box, I realized that I had a lot of Blaze’s shirt in my box, shirts which had somehow became mine over the course of time we spent here together.

"Don’t stop on my account." Blaze drawled, laughing as he cleaned his face with a towel. He was shirtless, and a towel was hanging around his waist. My eyes lingered on the muscles in his shoulders for a few seconds and I swallowed emptily before averting my gaze when he laughed again, clearly catching me checking him out.

It wasn’t my fault that he was so hot and basically irresistible, is it? Of course it’s not! It’s his fault and no one else’s.

I threw in the rest of my stuff as Blaze shrugged into a pair of pants. He didn’t bother putting on the shirt he selected but he laid it on the bed before turning towards me, while I was currently zipping up my box.

"All packed?" He asked and I hummed as I rose to my feet and stretched a little. My top rose up, revealing the lower part of my stomach and waist. When I caught Blaze staring, I arched a brow and he only laughed, shaking his head a little.

"I think so. I just need to change into something else." I explained and he hummed as his eyes raked over my entire body, pausing around the shorts around my hips longer than necessary.

"You’re right. Can’t have anyone but me seeing you in this." He gruffed out, nose flaring. There was a note of possessiveness in his voice and I felt my stomach give a little clench in response to his voice.

"Do you think today is gonna go without any problems?" I asked after a few minutes and Blaze glanced away from his phone for a moment.

"I suppose so, since we aren’t showing up to the dumb competition." He responded and I laughed a little at the scrunch of his nose.

"Is it really okay if we don’t show up?" I asked and he snorted.

"Of course. You think anyone is gonna question me?" He asked and I realized that it makes sense. Who in their right mind is gonna come question him? And I automatically get a pass since I now belong to him.

Who knew belonging to him was gonna come with so much perks?

I was about to say something else when a knock echoed on the door, making me instantly stiffened because that’s very unusual.

Blaze asked if I was expecting anyone and I shook my head. I hurriedly slipped into clothes I already had laid out, just as Blaze went to get the door, with me tailing him.

When he got the door open, two men were standing in the doorway and they instantly bowed.

"Your highness. Your father is present down at the competition and he’s waiting for your presence."
