Chapter 174: Empath

Jules’ pov

"Is Kim still alive?"

Blaze was laying in the bed, phone in hand and pillow laying across his face. He moved the pillow away and arched a brow my way. I was currently standing in the doorway of the bathroom and I shrugged when he kept staring at me.

"You care about him." He stated and I sighed as I closed the distance between us and sat at the edge of the bed.

I couldn’t for the life of me understand why I still care about Kim. It was borderline ridiculous at this point.

"I just can’t help it and I don’t know why." I finally admitted after about a minute.

"I think it’s the empath in you." Blaze finally announced as he rolled to his side.

"That’s a bad trait to have, right?" I asked and Blaze snorted.

"I wouldn’t know since I’ve never experienced that emotion before, you know?"

I nodded slowly as he spoke. He was right, as usual.

Although I still needed to know if that was a great or a horrible trait.

"About Kim... he’s fine. You should see him tomorrow." He revealed and a small sigh of relief left my mouth, and then I instantly felt dumb.

"So he didn’t end up dying after everything." I mumbled as I pushed my hair out of my face.

"Kim is a fighter. He has proved that enough at this point." Blaze announced and I couldn’t ageee more. He really was a fighter, a smart one at that, him still being alive was proof enough.

"Is he still gonna keep working with you?" I asked as Blaze rolled out from the bed and threw his phone in the bed.

"Definitely." He informed me like it was already a given, and I already know that Kim is gonna blame me for it again, like it was somehow my fault.

Blaze had no shirt on and my eyes zeroed in on the crescent marks on his back. It wasn’t as defined right now as it had appeared last night in the shower, and I realized why I never noticed it until last night. Because of the faintness of the marks, that only water could boldly define.

"How did you get these marks on your back?" I blurted and Blaze stared at me from across his shoulders. He knew what I was referring and so he shrugged as he responded.

"I’m not sure, I think I was born with it."

"So it’s really like a birthmark?" I asked and he hummed as he walked back to the bed, MacBook in hand this time.

"I believe so." He breathed out and I let out a sound as I tried to remember if those marks could mean anything.

"If you’re wondering if they mean anything, I don’t think it does." He paused before continuing. "Although when I was young, my father tried to have them removed a couple of times, so they probably offended him or something."

I blanched internally. "The more I hear of your father, the more I understand that he really is an horrible person." I breathed out and Blaze grinned.

"A horrible monster." He corrected and I couldn’t agree more.

A text came in from Josh and when I opened it, I realized he sent a text asking if I could meet up with he and Taylor so we could talk.

A scoff slipped past my lips as I reread the test and I instantly typed in a response.

’I can’t right now, sorry’.

When I glanced up, I realized Blaze was staring at me. He was no longer on his Mac, he was just lazing in bed, looking hot as fuck in his shirtless state.

"It’s Josh. He’s asking if we could meet up." I explained and he arched a brow.

"You guys still fighting?" He asked and I huffed. I didn’t tell Blaze that I bumped into Josh and Taylor the same day he smelt Kai on me, so he didn’t know that how I was technically removed from their midst.

"Not really." I ended up mumbling in response and he tugged me across his body so I was straddling his bare abs.

"Y’all would end up figuring it out." He spoke and I budded absentmindedly. My mind was no longer on the conversation. It was currently on what I was sitting across, especially when his hands suddenly settled on my thighs.

I was currently in a pair of small shorts, those ones which should technically serve as underwears, but since Blaze tend to find it hard to keep his hands off me once I was clad in just that, I’ve formed the habit of being around him in just that.

I bit on my bottom lip as I stared down at him. Something has been sitting on my mind since two days ago and right now, I’m contemplating bringing it up or not. The thought of bringing it up was embarrassing and mortifying but it has refused to leave my mind.

"Why did..." I trailed off on the first try. Blaze remained silent, patiently waiting for me to complete my sentence.

I huffed out a low breath and tried again.

"Why did you refuse to fuck me after I... begged."

My cheeks burned once the question was asked and I almost regret asking it.

The side of Blaze’s lips twitched and I tried sliding off his stomach but of course he prevented that from happening.

"Why should I give in easily just because you begged once? Hm?" He suddenly asked and the heat in my cheeks deepened at once.

My heartbeat was racing and my insides were currently upturned. The expression on Blaze’s face wasn’t helping matters for me in any way.

His hands on my thighs moved over my hips and once around my waist, he tugged me downwards until my face was hovering over his.

His hands slid over my ass in the next moment and my mouth slowly parted, heartbeat accelerating in anticipation.

"Want me to finally fuck you?" He questioned, gaze searing and I nodded while panting lightly.

"Use your words, bunny." He instructed and I let my tongue wet my bottom lip first.

"I want you to fuck me... please." I added the last part on an afterthought and it had a really strong effect on him being his scent instantly thickened, grip tightening around my ass.

"Tomorrow, bunny. I’ll take you all the way tomorrow."

The heat inside of me multiplied and I panted again.

"When we get back to school?" I managed to ask and he shook his head while his hands slipped underneath my shirt.

"No, bunny. Before then. We aren’t returning tomorrow."

"How—"

I started but Blaze only grinned, eyes gleaming.

"You’ll see, bunny."
