Chapter 169: An Angered Wolf

Jules’ pov

I glanced back and noticed the car Blaze said has been following us since we exited the pack. A car was separating us, but I could tell that they were indeed tailing us because so many cars have changed courses except theirs.

"So, what do you plan on doing with them?" I asked as I sank back into my seat.

"I’m gonna eat them like dinner." Blaze responded and my eyes widened as I glanced at him.

He snorted and rolled his eyes as he made a turn. "I was joking, bunny." He informed me but now all I was thinking about was the day before yesterday whereby I watched him drain people’s soul with his hand until they turned into sound.

"What’s on your mind?" He asked, pulling me out of my thought and I shrugged a little.

"I’m hungry." I blurted out and he chuckled.

"That’s expected after the entire screaming you did today." He mused and I huffed and rolled my eyes.

"I didn’t even scream that much." I called out but he only laughed.

"Well, it’s a good thing I recorded you screaming your lungs off more than once, don’t you think so?" He drawled and I gasped in indignation.

"How many videos did you record of me today?" I demanded and he shrugged a shoulder.

"I lost count."

I slumped in my seat, already knowing that I’d be wasting my time by asking him to delete it.

"You’re impossible." I informed him with an eye roll,

"You’re cute." He responded without missing a beat.

When Blaze stopped his car, I glanced at the time on my phone. It was past six in the evening. I wouldn’t believe we spent this much time out on the date today if I hadn’t glanced at the time right now.

"This is what we’re gonna do." Blaze began after we alighted the car and stood beside it.

"We’re gonna walk down this street. It looks fairly empty so we shouldn’t worry about onlookers." He started and I nodded.

"Okay."

"The people tailing us are already here and will soon start tailing us by foot as well. I’ll corner them once that happens and question them, so we can know who sent them to tail us since morning." Blaze explained and took my hand.

As we began to walk forward, I peered up at him. "Do you have an idea of what sent them?" I asked and Blaze shrugged.

"Perhaps my father?" Blaze resounded, an answer which sounded like a question.

"My father doesn’t seem like someone to send men to just tail people." Blaze continued and I nodded slowly.

"I guess we’ll find out who sent them once you question them." I called out and Blaze hummed while nodding.

"Are you gonna kill them after questioning them?" I asked after a few moments and Blaze slowed down to peer down at me.

"You don’t want me to kill them?" He asked and I shrugged.

"That’s not what I meant. It’s just that... they’ve not harmed us since they began to tail us, so maybe they didn’t mean any harm..." I trailed off and bit on my bottom lip.

Blaze chuckled a little as he stopped and faced me fully.

"All they’re waiting for is an order and they’d shoot at us once ordered to. I’m guessing they didn’t do a thing to us so far because of you. I’ve noticed none of their goals is to hurt you or bring you harm." Blaze explained and I felt confused.

"What does that mean?"

"They probably want to use you for something." He exclaimed and my heart crept into my throat as I grew extremely crept out.

"Something like what?" I wondered aloud but sadly, Blaze didn’t have an answer to that.

"They’re here now, hiding behind those trees by our left." Blaze suddenly informed me before I could ask him something else and I instantly stiffened.

"Stay here. I’ll go take care of it." He said and then he was zipping off after getting a nod from him.

I didn’t hear anything for the first minute.

The first thing I heard was a sound, loud, fast footsteps, then a thump and a groan.

I was tempted to turn around but I forced myself to.

When a sharp cry filled the atmosphere along with pleas, I let out a loud sigh and stared up at the sky, patiently waiting for Blaze to take care of it like he said he would.

After a few minutes, Blaze called me over and when I jogged over to the side of his car where where he had called me from, he was leaning against his car and the two men who he claimed were tailing us were kneeling on the ground.

Blaze nodded at the two men. "They’re not sent by my father, but it could be from someone working for my father." Blaze explained and the men vigorously shook his heads, insisting that they’ve never worked with Blaze’s father before.

They refused to provide a name despite Blaze asking a few more times.

Blaze then asked me to bring forth the knife peeking from one of the men’s pockets.

When my eyes widened, Blaze snorted. "He’s not gonna do a thing to you, bunny." He breathed out along with a chuckle and I swallowed emptily, mind still filled with fear as I walked towards the man who had a scowl on his face.

He genuinely looked like he wanted to crush me to death and I flattened.

"Go on, bunny." Blaze urged and I sucked in a deep breath as I winced and horridly retrieved the knife.

The man laughed and spat at me." Fucking pathetic! But what did I expect from a fag anyway!"

My mouth fell open in disbelief, the spit cold and dripping down my chin.

Blaze was beside me in an instant, anger brimming his eyes as he stood beside me and took my hand that still had the knife in it.

I thought he wanted to take the knife from me or something else, but he stabbed the knife in the eye of the man.

My mouth fell open and I let a horrified scream as I watched blood slid from his eyes, over the knife, sliding over my hand which was trapped underneath his around the knife.

"No one... no one ever speaks against my mate like that." Blaze growled out angrily behind me and I shuddered just as he pulled his hand away, leaving my hand on the knife.

My mouth fell open even more, more realization dawning on me and I made to pull my hand away as well but Blaze tsked, stopping me in my tracks.

"Pull the knife out, bunny." He ordered and my heart fell into my stomach.

The man whose eye was stabbed was screaming so much that it was like he was trapped in my ears.

"What?" I whispered, bloody fingers trembling around the knife.

"Pull the knife out, and stab it into his chest." Blaze repeated to my utmost horror.
