Chapter 167: The Date

Jules’ pov

"Where are we?" I asked as I looked around from side to side, minutes after Blaze slid out from the driver’s seat of his car.

Roy didn’t drive us today. Blaze drove the car himself, claiming Roy is just gonna be a nuisance and he’d prefer we spend the entire day with each other, without a third wheel.

"We’re at a park." He announced when he glanced at me and I blinked in surprise and confusion.

"A park?" I echoed out as I let my eyes wander around once again and this time, my eyes landed on a large sign board which says ’welcome to London Bridge park’.

Blaze took my hand once he was beside me and I felt my heart flutter a little in the middle of my chest.

"I figured a park is a great spot for a first date for us." He explained as he began to walk forward and I nodded as I fell into step beside him. Everywhere was currently filled with people, kids with their parents, adults and teenagers, they filled up everywhere.

But despite it being crowded, no one seemed to be looking in our way, everyone were busy with different things and that made me relax even more.

"You’re gonna have fun here, I’m so sure of it." Blazes voice pulled me out of my thoughts and I peered up at him, heart fluttering when our eyes met.

"Have you been to a park before?" I asked as we stopped in where we’d get tickets. As Blaze offered his card and began to write somethings down, I let my eyes wander around aimlessly.

"I haven’t. This is a first time too. I’ve never heard anyone hating going to the park, so I believe we’d really have a blast." He responded and I waved around us a little.

"Even with the crowd? I remember you telling me you hated crowds." I reminded him and he snorted.

"Well, no one seems to be paying us any mind, and besides it’s great to leave your comfort zones every once in a while. Roy says that a lot." He rolled his eyes at the last part and I giggled underneath my breath.

Roy was another part of Blaze that I didn’t understand yet, which I couldn’t wait to know about. Most times it seems like he and Roy were siblings, because watching his interactions with Roy reminded me of Dew and I growing up together.

Heavens, I miss my siblings so much.

I’d literally give anything to get them back. Any damn thing.

Blaze got the tickets and took my hand again and I shook those thoughts off my mind, now wasn’t the time to get sad, because that was only gonna bring down my mood and I needed today to be a great day so I’d always think back at it and smile.

When we got into the part of the pack with a lot of things for riding, my mouth fell open in awe.

"Oh gods." I whispered and Blaze chuckled beside me.

"What do you wanna do first? We could try out the roller coaster, or that scary looking train, or we could..."

I let out an excited squeal and Blaze trailed off with laughter, eyes twinkling as he shook his head.

"You’re excited." He pointed out and I nodded vigorously, bouncing on my feet.

Right in front of me are things I never got to see in person before in person until right now, and they all looked scary but fun, which is why I’m so excited. I explained the exact same thing to Blaze and he laughed as he led me to the roller coaster.

"Let’s try this first then."

When we got off the roller coaster, my stomach felt like it got upturned and I still felt dizzy while my throat hurt from all the screaming I did while the roller coaster dipped dangerously over and over again.

Blaze didn’t scream, he didn’t seem scared throughout the ride, he only laughed throughout because of my reactions.

"You alright, bunny?" He asked as I heaved in order to catch my breath, hands on my knees. I nodded, a move I regretted because that made me grow dizzier.

"I- I just need to catch my breath, that ride was so fucking scary. Fun but scary." I breathed out as I got to my feet and fanned my hands across my face.

Blaze only chuckled beside me as he pulled me against his chest so I could lean against him.

"So, will you ever go on that ride again?" He asked and I nodded eagerly.

"Of course!"

He laughed while shaking his head. "You’re something else, bunny."

The second ride we got on was a train, one which apparently wasn’t gonna be as scary as the roller coaster.

A lie!

By the time we alighted the train, my knees almost didn’t work. It had been so scary but so fun as well, whereby I laughed one moment and screamed the next moment. What made this ride better than the roller coaster was that I get to sit right beside Blaze and hold hands with him. Each time he laughed, it was right in my ear, and each time he asked if I was okay, it managed to make my heart flutter.

"That was something else!" I screamed, laughing heartily. I could still feel my head spinning and If Blaze wasn’t holding me right now, I’d have had to sit somewhere and catch my breath.

"It really was!" Someone called out beside us and a grin split out on my face. It was the girl who sat across from us in the train along with her best friend but I had a feeling they liked each other.

"Let’s go rest a bit." Blaze suggested after a few minutes and even though I tried disagreeing, Blaze dragged me to where we sat down, and I didn’t realize how much I needed that until we were seated.

Blaze got me ice cream and as I ate it, I decided there and then that this was the best day of my life.

I was trying to get him to try a bit of my ice cream because all he got was a coffee. He refused, claiming he hated sugar but when I kept insisting, he leaned down and licked across my lips.

I blinked at him in surprised while my heart felt like it would burst out my chest.

"You had ice cream on it. That counts as me tasting it, right?" He drawled and I let out a whine while he snickered beside me.

I leaned against him as I ate the rest of my ice cream, mind feeling as free as a bird. Blaze had an arm around my shoulders and after a few moments, he leaned down to speak into my ear.

"Don’t look back, but someone has been following us this whole time."
