Chapter 166: Size Difference

Jules’ pov

"We should go on a date next." Blaze blurted out. It was so random and it literally came out of nowhere.

After the entire talk about mates and how mate bonds works, he suggest we talk about it later and to sleep already because it was currently past two.

That was exactly what I planned on doing a few moments ago before he brought up a date. When I pulled away from his warm, bare chest to peer into his face, I met his eyes closed, face relaxed like he was sleeping, but I knew he wasn’t.

"Blaze." I called out, pushing his face with my finger a little.

"You mentioned a date, don’t tell me you’re asleep because I wouldn’t be able to sleep since I’ll be thinking about it throughout the night." I tell him while pushing his face again.

The side of his lips twitched without him opening his eyes and I let out a small huff.

"We’ve been doing everything backwards, so I think going on a date is gonna do us a great deal." He explained and I slowly nodded even though he couldn’t see me with his eyes closed.

"When?" I asked and his hand around my waist slid down across my ass. I sucked in a sharp breath because my ass was still sore and aching.

"We could go tomorrow... which is technically today, because this is currently early morning not midnight." He mouthed, eyes still close and I let out a sharp breath when he kneaded my ass cheeks.

"Blaze." I whispered as I tried shoving his hand of my bottom but instead of that happening, he rolled us around till I was trapped underneath him and he was hovering above me, eyes open this time.

"What do you think about the date?" He didn’t look sleepy in any way. His chest glistened with a little bit of sweat and his eyes were gleaming a little. I swallowed emptily, throat going dry because of the knee he was currently slipping between my thighs.

"I- I think that’s not a good idea." I stuttered a little because of the effect he has on my brain and I cussed internally.

Blaze frowned a little. "It’s not?"

I shook my head. "With the entire thing happening, the amount of people out there waiting to get me, I- I don’t think..."

Blaze rolled his eyes and kissed me, stealing my breath along with the rest of my sentence. I reached up and cupped his cheeks, heart fluttering in my chest as he licked my bottom lip and lightly bit on it with his front teeth.

"You don’t need to worry about any of that. You know nothing would happen to you no matter what, so far you’re with me." He spoke with so much certainty, with an amount of confidence a teenager wasn’t sipppsed to have.

Which is because he isn’t a normal teenager, and neither was I, which means we fit in a lot of ways.

"Okay," I finally mumbled.

His brows arched up so he regarded me. "Okay?" He echoed and I nodded slowly.

"We can go on a date." I informed him and a small smile tugged at the side of his lips.

"Cool." He breathed out and I nodded, fighting a smile while my heart felt like it was about to burst out of my chest.

"Cool." I repeated and this time, he let out a snort and an eye roll but he was still smiling and that warned my heart. I felt extremely giddy because I just realized that I made the final decision. Even though he suggested it, he still waited for me to make the call.

For some reason, that made me feel great on the insides.

"You’re so buzzed. When are you gonna fall asleep?" He asked as he nosed around cheek and I yawned, heart feeling extremely light.

"I was about to sleep because you woke me up with the talk of the date." I informed him and he hummed.

"Go to sleep then."

"I can’t when you’re on top of me." I informed him and he reluctantly rolled off me, tugging me against his chest. I let out a long sigh as I melted against his chest while his arms blanketed me, holding me like I was gonna slip away in the middle of the night.

"I wanna be the big spoon one of these days." I mumbled absent mindedly and he let out a snort while shaking his head.

"And how is that gonna be possible with these small hands?" He asked, hand sliding over mine for emphasis and I scowled as I pulled my face away from his chest.

"It’s not small." I argued but he aligned our hands together without saying anything.

His hand was like two sizes and a half bigger than mine. I never realized how much bigger his hands were than mine until right now. I snatched my hand from his while he dissolved into laughter.

"It’s not that small, it’s just the angle." I whined but he only laughed harder.

"It really is that small, Bunny. Everything about you is small, that’s why you reminded me of a bunny from the onset. Small, delicate, cute." He drawled out, amusement clear in his voice and I let out a huff, half heartedly attempting to pull away from him but his hold around me prevented that from happening.

"I don’t wanna be cute and delicate. I want to be fierce and scary." I informed me and when I glanced at his face, he was stifling laughter and that made me frown.

He cleared his throat. "You’re... fierce and scary." He breathed out, clearing his throat a little before losing the fight and dissolving into laughter.

When I kept frowning at him, he pinched my cheek a little. "Bunny, no one is gonna mistake you for something fierce with you look like a chipmunk right now." He informed me and I rolled my eyes before dropping back on the bed.

"Good night." I called out bitingly and he laughed as he hugged me against me and nosed down my throat, fangs closing around my skin in a bite. I stiffened for a moment before melting against him, every thought falling away from my head and leaving it lax.

"Sleep well, my cute, little bunny."
