Chapter 135: Meeting Up With The Duo

Jules’ pov

When I arrived at the location which Josh and Taylor were waiting for me at, I let out a deep breath and paused to sniff at myself first.

I smelt strongly of Blaze despite how much I scrubbed off, and that made me feel flushed again.

Before leaving, I tried using some scent blockers to reduce how much his scent clung to my skin but he retrieved it from me and asked me to not use those today.

Which is why I’m here right now, reeking of him. I wouldn’t have been bothered about it, but after the call with Taylor and he talked about how I had been getting down and dirty with him when I was supposed to be with them. I knew that was extremely rude of me, to keep them waiting just like that.

Which is exactly why I feel weird appearing in their presence while reeking of Blaze.

I took in a deep breath and patted my shirt a little before knocking on the door in front of me.

We all ageeed to meet up at Taylor’s dorm. His roommate is spending the entire day and night at his boyfriend’s place, so Taylor had the entire room to himself.

I waited for about thirty minutes before the door got pulled open to reveal Taylor standing at the other side.

He had his eyes narrowed as he looked me up and down. At once, his nose picked up the scent I was wearing and I watered as he rolled his eyes a little.

"Really?" He asked and I felt guilty, which made me awkwardly scratch the back of my neck.

"I ran out of scent blockers." I blurted out just as he moved aside so I could come in. I flashed him a small smile as I stepped into the dorm.

It was built just like Kai’s own, but it looked way prettier.

Josh was on the bed and he waved a hand at me as soon as he noticed my presence.

"Hey buddy, it’s high time you showed up." He said in a snicker and I bit on my bottom lip as I sat in a chair across the bed.

"I’m so sorry guys, I didn’t mean to keep you waiting." I breathed out just as Taylor arrived with drinks, one which he handed to me before flopping into the bed and throwing the other at Josh.

"Did you pick up Blaze’s scent on him? It’s like Blaze scent marked him so everyone can know who he belonged to with just one smell." Taylor started and Josh snorted as he sat up and opened his drink.

"I picked it up immediately. I think it’s cute." Josh offered as he threw me a look and I felt my cheeks start to burn as I cradled my cold drink in my hands.

"You think everything is cute, Josh." Taylor pointed out just as I opened my drink and took a small sip.

"But it is cute. You’ve said it’s cute a bunch of times. You’ve even spoke about wanting to be scent marked by an alpha, but you’re yet to see someone you like to that extent." Josh pointed out and I washed as Taylor spluttered a little before finally waving his hands in the air and sitting up.

"I- that’s different!" He argued and this time I let out a snort.

Taylor and Josh glanced at me in the next minute and it suddenly felt like I was the center of attention at once.

"Since when did you become such a slut, Jules? What has Blaze done to you? The things I heard on that phone call..." Taylor began to speak and I felt my cheeks grow flushed before I could stop it.

"Stop talking about that, we weren’t doing anything." I finally mumbled but Taylor didn’t look like he believed me.

I took a sip of my drink just as just began to talk about something else and I took that opportunity to zone out a little.

I was still deep in my thoughts when Taylor called my name, pulling me back to the present.

"You aren’t paying attention, Jules. Don’t tell me you’re thinking about Blaze again." He accused me and I rolled my eyes this time.

"No, I wasn’t. I was thinking about something else entirely."

"Anyways, I wanted to ask you about Kai." Taylor continued and I felt everything around me grow sour at once.

"Kai?" I breathed out just as Josh glared at Taylor.

"Why are you bringing up Kai again?!"

Taylor shrugged a little. "I wanted to ask Jules if he doesn’t like Kai, because I wanted to show you that you’re the only one who has a problem with him." Taylor explained to Josh.

"I don’t like Kai." I blurted out before he could turn towards me and before he could respond.

Josh got on his knees and pointed at me as he spoke. "See?! He doesn’t like him! You’re the only one who does." He announced and Taylor appeared almost confused and he blinked slowly.

"You don’t like Kai?" He finally muttered, tone confused and voice quiet.

I shrugged my shoulders a little and took another sip of my drink.

"Not really." I responded and Josh pointed towards me again.

"See? What did I tell you?"

Taylor blinked again before focusing on me and speaking.

"But I thought- I thought..."

I shook my head a little. "I don’t hate him though, don’t get me wrong. Hate is a very strong word. But I don’t like him either. I just tolerate him most of the time, I guess."

I paused for a moment and shrugged again. "He’s a great guy. He saved me and all. But that’s it. We’re not friends so I don’t want to hang out with him or be left alone with him by you. That’s it. You understand what I mean, right?"

Once I was done speaking, Josh rolled out of the bed and began to speak.

"I said this same thing too. But Taylor doesn’t listen."

Taylor sighed and massaged his head a little.

"I thought you liked him, and well, I never knew you and Josh hated him." He finally mumbled and Josh threw his hands in the air.

"You’re doing it again, Taylor. We don’t hate him, we just don’t like him is all. We’re allowed to not like someone you like." Josh continued and Taylor got to his feet this time.

"Can you stop speaking for Jules? He can speak for himself!" Taylor snapped and Josh rolled his eyes before pointing at Taylor.

"I’m not speaking for him, I’m just saying the general truth." Josh responded and Taylor laughed this time.

"Well, your truth is bullshit. And Jules is just confused. If he can like and be with Blaze, then he can like and be with Kai too." Taylor snapped out and I felt so taken aback, it felt like I got slapped.

"The fuck?" Josh called out just as I rose to my feet.

"That’s the truth. He’s better off with Kai compared to that monster, and it’s high time you start saying the truth too." Taylo continued and Josh scoffed.

"What truth? You’ve been brainwashed by that asshole named Kai!" Josh hurled at him and he laughed again.

"The only brainwashed person here is Jules and that’s because–"

I held a hand up this time. "Guys, please stop fighting. That’s enough."

They both grew silent at once and Josh panted a little before walking towards the bed and sitting in it once again. Taylor however, turned towards me and began to speak again.

"Jules, you have to listen to me–"

I shook my head and held a hand up again.

"No. You need to listen to me, Taylor." I began without hesitation and I noticed him flatter a little.

"I’ve asked you to stop referring to Blaze as a monster. If you really respect me as a friend of yours, you’d leave me the courtesy of not calling him that in my presence at least." I continued, watching as Taylor’s eyes widened a little before he moved his weight left and right.

"And I really want you to stop all this. Stop trying to control what I do or who I’m with. I want to be with Blaze and you should accept and respect my decision. You and Josh were the ones who told me he’s probably my fated mate from the onset. Turns out that he’s indeed my fated mate. You expect me to leave my fated mate for someone you like just because you say so?" I continued and this time, he attempted to speak but I shook my head firmly.

"I’m staying with him. You might believe he’s a monster but he treats me well and protects me. I think that’s more than I can ask for. I want you to respect my decision and stop trying to ask me to leave him or push me towards Kai, that’s something which is never gonna happen. Please stop calling him a monster as well. I don’t care if others do, but you’re my friend and that’s why it bothers me. So, please."

Once I was done speaking, I exhaled slowly. Josh remained silent the entire time, and so did Taylor.

After a few moments, Taylor began to speak while slowly inching closer to me.

"You’re being delusional, Jules."

I shrugged a little. "Maybe I am. If there’s any consequence in the future, I’ll accept it wholeheartedly and I’d take it as punishment for not listening to you." I announced with another shrug.
