Chapter 121: The Group Chat

It felt like I was on cloud nine.

I felt happy, the happiest I’ve felt in ages, and it was all thanks to Blaze.

I still felt happy that we ended up working things out the previous night, because I wasn’t sure if I’d have been able to still keep living if he had really sent me away. That stove disturbing and almost like I was starting to depend on him more than I should, but I really couldn’t help it.

I was currently in the kitchen microwaving a takeout which Kim delivered about an hour ago, when Blaze was still asleep. Kim hadn’t been too happy about doing that, and that was me putting it lightly.

When he arrived, he practically shoved the food in my chest and once again blamed me for his misfortune. I had been confused because last I remember, Blaze said he was gonna be looking out for me in exchange for his life, and I don’t remember Blaze telling him he needed to bring us breakfast. He then revealed that Blaze texted him at midnight to be here by this time with breakfast, and he believed it was my fault that he was reduced from literally every omega’s role model to a delivery guy.

I couldn’t even bring myself to feel guilty because last I remembered, all of this was his fault when he decided to work with the late principal and the rest of the sick higher ups, knowing that he was never supposed to go against Blaze.

Howver, before I could give him a piece of my mind, he had whirled away and slammed the door in my face.

I had kept the food in the kitchen and returned to the bedroom, but Blaze had still been asleep and I hadn’t wanted to disturb him, and so I let him bed and decided to unwrap the new phone I received from Andrian last night.

I was torn between using it or to keep using the one Blaze gave me. I ended up putting the new one away because I wasn’t ready to part ways with this one which blaze handed to me for now.

I unlocked the phone and realized that I’ve gotten a bunch of texts from Josh and Taylor.

Taylor had apparently created a group chat and had added Josh and i into it, naming the group ’the besties’.

I snorted as I clicked on the group, scrolling through the messages already in there.

Taylor: Girl, you and Blaze just took soft launch into a complete different level!

That text came in yesterday’s morning, and I didn’t understand what it meant.

Taylor: you both walked together through school just now, which just publicly told everyone that you’re both together.

Taylor: AHHHHHHH

JOSH: Why are you screaming?

Taylor: Didn’t you see? Jules and Blaze walked through the hall today, hand in hand! And blaze punched Xander in everyone’s presence because of him!

Josh: the hell?! I wasn’t present! Did you record it?!

Taylor: What? No! I was too shocked to do anything but watch!

Taylor: I’m so scared for Jules omg

Josh: You are? Why?

Taylor: isn’t it obvious? Because of who he’s with!

Taylor: Jules, whenever you see these messages, we all need to have a serious talk.

Josh: Didn’t you say Blaze punched Xander because of him?

Taylor: Yes, but I still feel skeptical about him!

Josh: I don’t know, T. I think Blaze is pretty into Jules for him to do that. I mean, I’ve never heard him defend anyone like that before. Before, if he punches anyone, it’s because he’s bored and not because he’s defending anyone.

I felt my heart stumble a little at this point, and I gulped as I continued reading.

Taylor: I still feel skeptical, I don’t approve of them dating, don’t tell me you approve of it.

Josh: I don’t know... you know we can’t tell Jules what to do in the first place, we can only give our inputs as his friends.

Taylor: but if you can tell him what to do, will you approve of him dating Blaze?

I let out a scoff at this point.

Josh: if Blaze protected him that way from Xander and would keep doing so whenever he needs protecting, then sure. You know Jules has been through a lot since he enrolled here. It’s nice to see him finally getting defended this way, don’t you think so?

Taylor: that’s not the point, Josh

Josh: What’s the point?

Taylor; I just don’t want him to date that monster. What if he ends up hurting our baby?

Josh: Taylor, Jules is in this group chat as well, remember he didn’t like it when you called Blaze a monster in his presence the last time.

Taylor: oh, my bad. I kind of forgot that part. But he’s a monster though, I think Jules is too love sick to see that.

Taylor: Whenever you see this Jules, just know that all I’m doing is looking out for you because I seriously don’t want you to get hurt. You don’t have to be with Blaze because you want to feel protected.

Josh: Who’s gonna protect him if not Blaze? I heard from a few friends that Blaze defended him in a tennis practice and made an example out of the entire alphas on the team who thought it was a great idea to bully Jules with the tennis balls.

The image of what I had read emerged in the front of my mind, of Blaze promising the rest of the alphas in the team that he was gonna break their wrists should the ball hit any parts of my body.

Thinking about that made me smile a little, I had forgotten about that until Josh just mentioned it, which made me dwell on the fact that Taylor and Josh were clearly on different sides of this conversation which was solely about me.

A lot of things about the entire conversation was rubbing me the wrong way, like how Taylor sounded half the conversation. I didn’t like it one bit.

Taylor: Well, if it’s about protecting him, Kai can protect him just fine.

I let out a scoff of disbelief after reading that. So this is all what the entire conversation is about?

Josh: Why are you randomly bringing up Kai?

Taylor: He’s our friend, isn’t he? I can bring him up whenever.

Josh: He’s your friend, T. Not mine.

Taylor: You’ve never bothered to get to know him, that’s why.

Josh: I’m not interested in getting to know him. I just don’t like him. Something about him rubs me the wrong way.
