Chapter 120: Shimmers Of Emotions
Jules’ pov
My eyes widened even more as I regarded him, mind completely blown away. I couldn’t believe what I had just heard. He dreamt of me? He got a dream about me when I was still labyrinth and not when I’ve taken a different identity?
The side of Blaze’s lips twitched as he kept on regarding me before finally speaking.
"Did you know what you said to me in the dream?" He asked and I slowly shook my head in response, eyes still blown wide in disbelief.
He leaned forward and brushed his nose against mine for a moment before pulling away.
"You told me you’re my fated mate." He announced and I felt my heart flew into my throat at once as I gaped at him in bewilderment. As I stared at him right now, I almost wondered if this was a joke or if he was being serious, but the look on his face right now showed that he wasn’t cracking jokes right now.
"Really?" I ended up whispering and he hummed in response as he leaned back.
He continued after a few moments.
"I had this particular dream after I saw you the first time... so I was certain that we were fated mates from the very beginning." He revealed and I felt my eyes widened once again.
My mind instantly travelled to Andrian and I remembered him telling me about how fated mates usually gets confirmed through dreams.
Is this the same dream he mentioned to me?
It sounds so much like it.
If this is the same dream Andrian told me I needed to get before being fully sure that I’m mated to Blaze, then since Blaze already had a dream confirming that we’re fated mates, it means I don’t need to have one before accepting that he’s my fated mate, right?
"I’m so shocked." I end up admitting and Blaze chuckled softly while nodding.
"That’s how I felt after seeing you in my dreams that night." He revealed and then his arms tightened around my hips and he tugged me forward even though the space between us was only a very small one.
"The dream was so significant to me because I had never dreamt of anyone until you." He revealed and my eyes almost fell out of my sockets fron how much it bulged out.
Blaze snorted at my reaction.
"You don’t dream of people?" I whispered, mind reeling from disbelief and he hummed while nodding.
"Just my mother... but she doesn’t have an actual face in the dreams because I don’t know what she looks like." He admitted easily, without any sort of hesitation and I felt my eyes widened once again.
He answered my unspoken question before I could ask.
"I didn’t get to meet her. My father said she died when giving birth to me." He breathed out and I felt my heart starter in my chest as my mouth dropped open in horror; right before Blaze snorted.
"But that’s bullshit, I never believed that from the onset." He continued.
"Oh." I whispered, not knowing what else to say,
"Because I’m certain he’s the one who killed her."
My heart hammered against the sides of my ribs as I gaped at him in complete bewilderment. I couldn’t believe my ears.
His father was the one who killed his mother?
He’s just as horrible as all the rumors says.
I felt my heart ache as I reached forward to cup his face."I’m so sorry." I whispered, feeling genuinely heartbroken for him.
I distinctly remembered what Kai said to me about Blaze one time, about how he was locked away by his father most of the time as a child. It made me begin to wonder just what it was that he actually went through as a child.
He turned his head and nuzzled my palm and I felt tingles shoot through my fingers.
"It’s okay, bunny." His voice was soft as he spoke this time.
I wanted to comfort him some more, and I also wanted to know more about him. I wanted to ask him to tell me how he grew up and what he passed through in his father’s hands.
But I refrained from bringing that up, because somehow, it felt like that was supposed to be a conversation for another day.
It was like he agreed with my thoughts as he began to speak after a few more moments.
"I had never dreamt of anyone before, so I was pretty certain the dream was significant. Although I was confused after I woke up because I remembered you had black hair and brown eyes, but in the dream, you had whitish-blond hair and pretty blue eyes." He paused for a moment.
"In the dream, you wore white, and at a point, it was like you used magic to rise in the air until you were hovering slightly above me. I felt very confused that day and I wondered if that was supposed to be the future. But now it’s more obvious to me that it’s the future."
I felt my heartbeat accelerate at once.
"Really?" I whispered and he nodded.
"I believe so, bunny. You said your magic was sealed away by your mother to keep you protected, right?" He asked and I nodded vigorously, throat feeling too clogged up for me to speak.
He hummed for a moment.
"I believe you don’t have to worry about not being able to use your magic anymore. I’m very certain of the dream I had. I’m sure you’re gonna be able to use your magic again in the future, and by then, you won’t even have to hide your identity any longer."
As he spoke, I felt my eyes start to sting with the urge to cry.
"You think so?" I whispered, heart racing and mind unable to stop reeling.
"Yup." He leaned forward and nuzzled the side of my throat, making my heart flutter in my chest.
"You don’t have to worry about forgetting who you actually are, or what you look like, because I’ll always remind you and I’d always remember what you looked like in that dream, okay?"
I felt two teardrops rolled down my cheeks as I threw my arms around his shoulders and buried my face against his throat, whispering my thanks over and over and over again.
