Chapter 110: Strength In Submission

Jules pov

As Xander stepped into his room and slammed the door close, I let out a sharp breath which I didn’t realize I had been holding, inhaling sharply and trying to get my lungs to expand and rake more air in.

Kim had a grim expression on when I met his gaze. He stared me up and down and I felt my ears start to grow hot as I awkwardly cleared my throat, which sounded scratchy from how much Xander choked me. I reached for my throat almost immediately, running my fingers over the sides which were the parts that was hurting the most.

"It’s definitely gonna bruise." Kim blurted out I slowly nodded in response while swallowing emptily. I kind of already expected that from how much it had hurt while he had been strangling me.

I cleared my throat once again and dropped my hand, and then I spoke.

"Uh... thank you for helping me get out of that situation." I breathed out.

In the next moment, it was like Kim’s hackles which were relaxed suddenly rose up, settling over his entire body.

He pursed his lips and shook his head once. "It wasn’t me."

I gawked at him in confusion.

"Huh?" I croaked out and he rolled his eyes.

"It was Blaze." He responded and I blinked in confusion again, because what he was saying made no sense.

He seemed to notice my confusion because he rolled his eyes before speaking again.

"It was Blaze who sent me to come fetch you from the elevator." He elaborated and realization finally dawned on me.

"Oh." I whispered as I stared down at my fingers.

Blaze had only again been able to tell that I was in trouble and had sent Kim to come take care of it instead. This was the exact way he had been able to tell the past times when I had been in trouble.

Andrian had insisted that those moments of danger for me had been planned beforehand in order for Blaze to swoop in as a savior each time.

But that made no sense when you take a look at this recent incident. It didn’t look like any planned thing and he had still banshee to get me out of the situation even if he didn’t show up himself.

Which means Andrian was wrong.

Right?

Kim’s voice pulled me out of my thoughts and I blinked a couple of times as I stared at him.

He had his hands folded and a deadpan expression plastered across his face.

"Because of you, I’ve been reduced to a baby sitter, to your baby sitter. It doesn’t matter what I’m doing, I have to drop it whenever Blaze calls for me." As he spoke, I winced a little because he didn’t sound pleased at all.

"I’m sorry." I blurted out even though I knew I shouldn’t be apologetic because he brought this upon himself by getting involved in the first place. I just country help myself.

"To avoid situations like this from happening a lot, when next you’re in a situation like this, try everything in your power to get out of the situation yourself. You’re not a damsel in distress who’s supposed to need saving every single day." He completely ignored my apology and continued to speak.

I winced a little because I did try to get out of that situation. If I didn’t try, that was a different case.

"But I did try! Xander is just someone who doesn’t back down no matter what. I even told him he wouldn’t hurt me because of Blaze and he went ahead and proved me wrong." I continued and he rolled his eyes.

"Well, you should have tried harder. It’s bad enough that I have to be your baby sitter from now on. You have to try to not always appear pathetic like you did tonight." He continued and I threw my hands up in frustration.

"But I tried, okay? I did try! What more was I supposed to do? He’s way stronger and bigger, I was literally powerless against him. I pleaded over and over, I even tried kicking him. What was I supposed to do in that situation?!" I was beyond frustrated at this point and he was only making it worse by speaking like I just laid on the ground and offered myself to be strangled by him.

"Did you try to seduce him?" He asked and I suddenly fell silent, blinking at him in confusion.

"What?" I echoed and this time, he scoffed and rolled his eyes, and then he stepped closer to me before continuing.

"All alphas are the same. All alphas are dumb in a way. As an omega, your greatest strength is your body. Nature already cheated by making omegas smaller and weaker than Alphas, but it made up for that by bestowing omegas with a strength alphas would always be weak to, and that’s submission."

He paused and puffed out a slow breath.

"There’s strength in submission, Jules. There’s clearly a lot of things you don’t know, which you’d need to learn now that I’m tasked with babysitting you." He continued, spitting out the last part and I pushed my hair out of my face as I spoke next.

"I’m sorry."

He rolled his eyes and shoved his hands into his pockets. "Stop apologizing already, ugh. This isn’t your fault anyway." He breathed out, tone bitter and an apology was at the tip of my tongue again, which I swallowed down before it could roll off my tongue.

I fished out my pocket and my heart flew into my throat at once.

It was past nine.

When I glanced back at Kim, he waved me off and turned away, heading back for the elevator. I was about to start walking towards blaze and I’s door but stopped short on remembering the plastic bag which I brought back from Andrian’s office.

I scrambled towards the elevator and shoved my hand through the doors before it close, and then I cried out from how hard the doors hit my arm.

"Fuck." I cried out as the doors rolled open again. I spotted my plastic bag immediately and rushed forward to retrieve it.

Kim shook his head with a click of his tongue as I stepped out of the elevator again, right before the doors closed.

I took in a deep breath and massaged my arm which was starting to hurt. I didn’t know elevator doors hurt that way from the amount of times I’ve witness people shove their limbs through the doors.
