Chapter 109: Confusion
Jules’ pov
He growled and whirled around to snarl and prevent whoever it was from stepping in but no snarl came out, to my confusion. When I peered around his large build, my eyes landed on Kim standing in the doorway of the elevator, eyebrows arched as he stared down at Xander and I.
He stepped into the elevator just as Xander rose to his feet. Xander stalked close to him but he didn’t flinch or avert his gaze. He didn’t even seem worried or bothered, he had a relaxed expression on.
This is the Kim I recognize. The powerful one who commanded the room with his presence. The one who exudes so much power and dominance despite being an omega. This is the Kim I was familiar with.
The Kim who had cried at Blaze feet was nowhere in sight right now.
"What are you doing here?" Xander roared at Kim who shrugged and let out a small giggle.
"Why? It’s a free elevator, isn’t it?" He drawled at and the scowl on Xander’s face deepened.
"Get lost, Kim." He snarled but Kim only rolled his eyes before tapping his index finger against Xander’s chest.
"Aw, but you know I can’t do that." His eyelashes fluttered as he spoke and he slid his hand up Xander’s chest, all the way to his collar till he was using it to jerk him downwards so their foreheads almost touched.
"You know why I’m here." Kim continued and when Xander tried pulling away, he wrapped his two arms around his shoulders and jumped into his arms, legs wrapped around his waist.
I blinked at the two of them in confusion, unsure of what was currently happening.
Xander almost reluctantly held Kim’s thighs to keep him from slipping off him.
"I have plans for him." Xander finally spoke, voice angry but Kim only rolled his eyes as he wrapped his hands around Xander’s face and joined their foreheads together.
"Don’t we all?" Kim drawled out and then he brushed his lips across Xander’s nose before unwrapping his legs from Xander’s waist. Xander’s hands didn’t leave his hips even after Kim’s legs were back on the ground.
"You can’t hurt him." Kim’s voice was serious this time as he spoke, all traces of playfulness nowhere to be found. He still had his hands around Xander’s face and their eyes were still locked.
Xander attempted to speak but he ended up growling and panting loudly. Kim tugged him forward and pressed his lips against Xander’s, almost featherlightly.
Once again, I found myself blinking in confusion.
"You can’t hurt him, you know that. Get yourself together." Kim continued and I carefully got to my feet, still finding it hard to breathe properly, not with my throat and lungs still hurting.
Xander’s angry gaze focused on me for a moment and I almost crumbled on the ground from the amount of hate brewing in his eyes.
"This won’t go unpunished, you know that. Blaze isn’t gonna be pleased." Kim’s voice was low and serious as he spoke and I swallowed emptily when Xander glanced at me once again.
"Fuck Blaze." He finally snapped in response and Kim giggled heartily.
"Don’t we all want to?" He drawled and Xander abruptly shoved Kim off him, eyes blazing as he pointed a hand at Kim.
"Get the fuck out of here, Kim." He snapped and Kim rolled his eyes before folding his hands.
"I’m taking him with me." Kim announced and Xander scoffed as he looked Kim up and down with so much disgust, one wouldn’t believe that Kim was in his arms moments ago.
"Your fucking fraternity isn’t the safe haven you wished everyone believed it was. You don’t even care about your members so don’t try to act like you’re trying to rescue a member of yours right now, not when you literally tried pimping him out." Xander snapped and Kim flinched, while I stumbled from the unexpected end of his sentence.
From what he said, it seemed like he was also aware of that particular night.
Kim recovered faster than I could ever do.
"It’s none of your business, Xander." He drawled and then he walked around Xander and tried to reach for me but Xander shoved him again, making Kim laugh as he shook his head.
"Are you dumb? I’m literally helping you out right now. Or would you prefer Blaze come fetch him himself?" He snapped before closing the distance between them and yanking Xander’s collar down until there was only a little gap between them.
"Believe me when I say that you wouldn’t like for that to happen." He spoke quietly this time and Xander only scoffed before shoving Kim away from him.
"I’m not scared of that psycho like the rest of you." Xander spoke after a few moments but Kim only snorted as he walked past him to grab my hand and tug me forward.
Xander watched but didn’t stop him.
"Is this confidence because of your father?" Kim asked but Xander didn’t respond.
"Be careful, Xander. I don’t think your father can protect you from Blaze if you mess with what belongs to him." Kim was serious this time as he spoke and I was genuinely surprised by what he had just said.
Xander scoffed and folded his arms. "You mean this whore?"
Kim shrugged easily. "Well, you did tell this to Blaze this morning, didn’t you? I heard you got punched because of it."
The veins in Xander’s jaw clenched and I gripped my hands tightly as Xander gave me a sharp look before raking his fingers through his hair.
"Don’t bring that up." He ended up snapping in response and Kim only rolled his eyes before we walked out of the elevator when the doors finally slid open, on the highest floor. Xander stepped out along with us, eyes still filled with so much anger and I felt the need to hide away from that gaze.
Kim dropped my hand and closed the distance between him and Xander. He tugged Xander downwards with a pull on his collar and pressed their foreheads together.
"Be careful, Xander." He breathed out but Xander only grunted in response before turning away and walking in the direction, to his own dorm.
