Asher felt like he blacked out when he slammed the door behind him, Caspian scent seemed to pin him to where he stood.

His thoughts were wiped clean and his body felt heavy, that he needed to lean against the door to stay upright. He might have remained at the door for hours if the sounds from Caspian didn’t pierce through his haze.

Asher pushed up from the door then, divesting himself from the rest of his ruined dress shirt as he made for the bed.

He knew well the circumstances around this strange heat, and that if they went through this much trouble to induce it, there was a pretty high chance of Caspian getting pregnant.

He didn’t slow down, picking up his mate. Caspian’s skin burned to the touch, and he was damp from sweat and tears, trembling all over.

Asher planned to kill several birds with a single stone, he made his way over to the shower, setting it to lukewarm.

He would cool Caspian down a bit, try to wash off some of his intoxicating scent, keep a level head and clean them both up.

He claimed his mate’s lips as the water rained down, easily getting rid of their clothes.

Asher pulled back to get a look at Caspian, his wet hair was darker and slicked back, his glassy eyes puffy. There wasn’t a hint of recognition behind those dilated blue eyes, his head limp like it was too much effort to hold it up.

Asher held Caspian’s face up with a hand, his other hand wrapped around his slender waist. It was difficult keeping them both upright while fighting the urge to hold Caspian a little tighter and sink his teeth into the sweet Omega.

Shower sex would be a little difficult with how out of it they were but it didn’t stop Asher from picking his mate up and pushing him up against the tiled wall.

After rinsing off, he didn’t bother drying either of them off before taking Caspian back to bed. The bed was already a mess, and the both of them were overheated so the cooling water on their skin would come in handy.

Caspian’s shoulders and collarbones were tinged red as the Omega lay on his back on the bed. Asher could clearly see his handprints on the perfect clear skin of his thighs.

He leaned forward to kiss his mate, joining them together. Caspian was still scalding inside but he seemed to have more moments of lucidity.

Asher’s teeth were gritted as he hooked his arms underneath Caspian’s thighs to pull him closer, nearly folding the Omega in half. It still wasn’t enough.

So he just summarized it, leaving out most of the fear factor, as best as he could.

"A fake replacement did your checkup, and she must have done something to force a heat." Asher said softly, rubbing soothing circles into Caspian’s bare back.

Caspian sighed, his eyes drifitng close. "Why would she do that? I’ve never met her before."

"Jael’s figuring that out. How do you feel?"
