Chapter 246: -Chapter 246-
It was no surprise that Alpha had been using her for menial labor and... Caspian’s eyes dropped to Dahlia’s neck, not surprised by the hickeys on her neck.
So Noah had made her run the pack house for him and then used her for sexual gratification.
Sounded about right...
"Will you attend dinner with the pack?" Noah straightened up.
Caspian had been about to turn down the offer so quickly but he stopped himself.
He was no longer hiding his gender or himself from the pack members. He also wanted to show off his mating mark to as many people as possible.
"Sure. My mate and I will be there," He said with a fake smile.
Caspian picked up on Noah’s tense expression but ignored it, waiting patiently for them to be shown to their room.
He expected them to be taken to the room they stayed in the last time he was in Moonstone but instead, Noah led them to the hallway that held the Alpha’s room, giving them one of the spacious apartments on the hallway.
"I’ll see you at dinner," He said when Noah lingered at the door, shutting the door in his face.
Caspian turned around to find Asher with a thoughtful look on his face, the men that had driven them there helping them bring up their luggage.
Noah had also offered to give them accommodation at the pack house, and they had taken it at Asher’s approval.
"Are you alright?" He immediately drifted into his mate’s personal space, Asher pulling him close.
"Yeah, just trying to figure out what Noah is cooking up."
Caspian scowled at that, Asher was usually quiet when they were in Moonstone, and he appreciated the Alpha letting him handle things.
"He’s just trying to make this as excruciating for me as possible," He bit out, bitter.
Asher was oddly quiet as he listened to him, keeping Caspian close as he kept his thoughts to himself.
Noah was a complete asshole but Caspian had spent more time with the bastard.
He couldn’t help but worry about how things could go if Noah turned over a completely new leaf.
Call him insecure but he couldn’t stand the thought of possibly losing Caspian, it struck right at his heart.
"You didn’t have to accept the dinner invite," He said with understanding, pushing his own issues to the side.
Caspian already had enough on his plate, he didn’t want to add to his mate’s worries.

Lake was proud of himself for finally getting the laundry done, and thinking about going out for a proper meal.
Because he wasn’t up to making one from scratch and by going out, he wouldn’t be relying on takeout.
Just as he was getting some rest after completing the laundry, his phone rang.
"Hi, Caspian, I was just about to send a text," He started.
"A text wouldn’t be enough for what I need to say," Caspian replied and Lake straightened up at the agitation in his friend’s voice.
"What happened? I knew I should have come along."
"No... it’s just..." Caspian had to pause to take a deep breath.
"Noah, my ex-husband who suggested divorce and made me drive all the way down to Moonstone by court order... wants to talk things out."
Lake listened with a gaping mouth, "Is he insane?"
"I’m starting to think so," Caspian had to agree, sounding drained.
"What did Asher say about this?" He got more comfortable, settling in for another long phone conversation.
"Not much really, he’s trusting me to handle things..."
Lake let Caspian talk for as long as he needed, the other Omega hanging up when he needed to go prepare for dinner.
They would apparently be having dinner with the rest of the Pack, and Lake didn’t want to even imagine how that would go.
Their conversation had gone on for almost an hour, and that was enough time to learn about Caspian’s ex-best friend who was also at the Pack House.
It was like a serial drama and he could see how exhausting it was for Caspian to deal with.
But his friend was grateful that Mafia King Asher was letting him take the lead, and Lake noticed that Asher tended to do that often.
For someone who was well known to be trigger-happy, he easily locked away that part of himself when Caspian needed him to.
There were still some sensitive details Lake didn’t know about but he didn’t even want to.
He just wanted the entire thing over and done with so that he could get to see Caspian in person again.
He would pick baking with the Omega any day over having a picnic with a certain chatty Alpha.
Lake rose to his feet, stretching out. He had been sitting for the better part of an hour, too invested in his conversation to notice the time passing.
Just like Caspian, he also needed to get ready for dinner. He would just go to the same restaurant he went on his first day at his new apartment.
It was familiar, nice, and safe; No one would bother him at the restaurant.
He had changed out of his picnic outfit to do the laundry, and now he took a shower and wore it once more to go eat dinner.
Lake walked to the restaurant, and with all the walking he had done today, he would be sleeping well that night.
He still wasn’t sure if he would be returning to the park or if he would consider going to a different park or establishment.
But he would try to leave the house at least once a day, even if it was to walk down to the restaurant to get something to eat.
He sat at the table he sat at previously, it was fortunately empty, and in no time, his food was at his table.
Lake ate in silence, trying to remember if he had seen an electronics shop when he was on his way here so he could get earphones.
A couple walked past him, making him instinctively look up.
He made eye contact with Clint then and instantly regretted it.
