Captive Mate BL -

Chapter 241: -Chapter 241-
Davian sat in one of his many offices after his visit to Doctor Perez.
He had put it as one of the first things on his schedule for the day because it was so easy to postpone the visits, and he didn’t want to keep doing that.
The building was a high rise, and the wall of windows in his office provided him an ample view of the clear summer sky and an aesthetic view of Haines.
Perez had given him the go-ahead to go off his inhibitors for a week, and if he hadn’t gotten his rut in that time, he would have to return for another evaluation.
The stress was something he would rather avoid, but he would pick it over another unexpected flash rut.
Now that he had committed to having a proper rut, he needed to deal with it.
As soon as he thought that, the image of Lake popped up in his mind’s eye and he had never squashed a thought so fast.
He had no intentions of using anyone to satisfy himself in his rut. The incident with Lake had been an outlier, and he was going to make sure there wasn’t a repeat of that.
There had to be alternatives...
Davian couldn’t stand intimacy without feelings, and falling in love wasn’t an option for him.
So he had been content with his life of near celibacy for years, but his body had to go and betray him.
So instead of crunching numbers, Davian found himself on questionable sites, browsing... sex toys.
He scrolled through a couple of pages and then closed his laptop, his desk phone ringing.
He picked it up, grateful for a distraction, his secretary’s voice coming in from the other end.
"Hello, sir," She started, her address formal. "There’s a Miss Matilda Black here to see you?" She said with slight confusion, "I just got a call from the front desk."
"Send her away," He said dismissively.
"Got it." His secretary agreed without a protest, the call dropping.
Davian muttered a quiet curse, he had been expecting a tolerable distraction.
He was a little curious at how Matilda had known where to find him, or if she had just taken a guess and gone to one of his well-known companies.
Not curious enough to do anything about it though, he couldn’t care less if she was digging up information about him.
She would never be let into his office without his approval, and he had no intention of giving her that.

Caspian scowled at his phone, he would have gone right away to his laptop to see it on a better screen, but his laptop was now kitchen property.
He hoped that it was because of the size of his phone’s screen that he was seeing things.
Caspian hadn’t been expecting much of a response from Noah. Their marriage was a sham from the start, it didn’t matter if he decided to go through with the divorce or not.
And when Caspian did get an email from him, he had been expecting to see divorce documents, not a court-signed document demanding his presence in court.
Going back to Moonstone wasn’t a part of his plans but he could no longer ignore Noah.
Caspian had even contemplated preparing the divorce documents so that it would all be over faster.
He wasn’t worried, he couldn’t be forced to marry Noah.
He was the rightful heir to the leadership of Moonstone Pack but he didn’t even want that seat of power.
He wanted nothing of Noah so there was nothing to tie him down longer to the Alpha and the small sleepy town.
Caspian was still displeased because he knew that Noah would try to make this as excruciating for him as possible.
For starters, he had to go down to Moonstone and make a court appearance - the first of his many troubles.
He would tell his mate about this, and he knew that Asher would drop whatever he was doing in a heartbeat to come along.
There was no hurry, he had a couple of weeks before it would be breaking the law if he didn’t make his court appearance.
His excitement from getting to bake for the first time just the day before came crashing to the ground.
He would have to postpone any other plans for lunch dates until he had this all sorted out.
Caspian wanted to complain about Noah’s belligerence but the topic of his ex-husband was always sensitive when he discussed it with Asher.
And rightfully so, even thinking of Noah as his ex-husband made his stomach lurch.
He could dwell on the fact that he was burdening Lake with his problems so early into their relationship, or he could just talk to the Omega and find out for himself.
"Hey, how are you doing?" Lake’s pleasant voice came in as soon as he called.
"I’m fine, you?"
"I tried making iced tea last night, and you might be onto something." Lake chatted and Caspian listened.
He had honestly forgotten that he suggested that Lake make iced tea to go with his muffins.
Lake doing such a simple task for his sake lifted his spirits and made him think less about being a burden.
"I knew you’d like it," He chimed in.
Lake seemed to immediately notice that he wasn’t his usual chatty self. "Did you call to set up another lunch date?"
"The opposite of that actually," Caspian decided to take a jump. "I called to say I will be out of the city for a while."
"Are you going on a trip?" Lake asked with polite interest, the soft clinking of metal against ceramic audible in the background.
"Of sorts," He shrugged, "I’ll be attending divorce proceedings," He casually dropped.
"Oh my, is it someone you know?" Lake asked carefully.
"Unfortunately, it’s mine."
Lake went quiet for several seconds and Caspian could feel the palpable horror the other felt through the phone.
Caspian realized what he had said wrong before Lake pointed it out, laughing so hard he couldn’t correct him in time.
