Chapter 67 - 67 67 Truth

67: Chapter 67: Truth?

67: Chapter 67: Truth?

Violet knew clearly that Rolin had no idea what holy light was, but that didn’t stop her from beginning her instructions!

Even at this moment, Violet was already considering making her first magic apprentice her most loyal follower.

From now on, everything depended on how she could coax…

no, how she could convince the girl before her to embrace the holy light.

To achieve this, different methods should be used in combination for different people.

Violet gave this matter serious consideration.

But Rolin did not know what Violet was telling her.

She simply saw Violet raise her Magic Mace and utter a word of praise.

Then everything happened so inexplicably, which was completely contrary to the principles of magic!

As she pondered this perplexing series of events, her confusion deepened, and her mind began to wander.

In the end, she carefully looked at Violet and asked.

“What…

is holy light?”

Violet had been waiting for this question.

As a teacher, she couldn’t simply start lecturing her student about something so peculiar, could she?

Only when Rolin was puzzled and expressed her confusion could Violet respond appropriately – this is the correct way to communicate.

Otherwise, Rolin might questionf if there was something wrong in what Violet was saying.

Rolin tilted her head intriguingly, revealing her confusion.

Violet was delighted but managed to suppress her laughter and maintained a stern face.

She thought for a while and decided that actions might be more persuasive than words.

At this point, Violet suddenly snapped her fingers and summoned an Undead Skeleton.

Moreover, this skeleton, was none other than the strongest Sixth Tier Skeleton she was accustomed to using.

As she summoned the skeleton, she carefully observed Rolin’s expressions, not missing any subtle changes on her face.

Then, she smiled slightly and said.

“The holy light is a power, a force far more potent than magic, it can even reverse life and death.”

That last part was a bit of an exaggeration by Violet to elevate the position of the holy light before the magic.

Magic can only affect the relationship between lifeless objects and souls, while the holy light is actually a kind of magic.

Violet was clear about this, but she couldn’t reveal these facts!

Hence she spoke in such a manner.

The sudden appearance of the undead rattled Rolin.

She almost instinctively wielded her Magic Mace, intending to cast a spell at it.

Her long mercenary career had conditioned her to react to danger by launching an attack immediately.

This had almost become her unchanging battle instinct.

But before she could cast the magic, while she was chanting the spell, she abruptly realized something, and abruptly stopped herself.

The thing that made her realize something was wrong was that Violet was standing there as if nothing were amiss.

The magical power in her hand had already accumulated by half.

If Violet hadn’t been there, she certainly would have executed her attack without hesitation.

The slowly calming Rolin quickly suppressed her instinctual impulse, glanced at the undead, and then carefully observed Violet again.

Listening to Violet’s explanation, she still didn’t quite understand what the holy light was, but she somewhat began to sense something.

This thing, it seemed a bit too mystical, as if it truly possessed some inexplicable power.

Rolin recalled what had just happened.

If she hadn’t heard it wrong, it was absolutely Violet who snapped her fingers, and then the skeleton suddenly appeared.

This behavior was far beyond Rolin’s imagination.

As a Wild Mage, Rolin always carried out her magic strictly as recorded in textbooks, daring not deviate a bit.

A lot of what Violet did, according to what she had learnt from books, had violated countless truths recorded in the books.

But most importantly, her method of using magic, which violates the most basic principles of magic, was actually successful!

In the face of facts, everything could be open to discussion.

If what the books described was correct, how could she be rejected by magic and faint?

It could mean that the truths recorded in the books might not necessarily be exactly correct.

Only such an explanation could justify why Violet could transcend truth.

Rolin had not expected that the mage in front of her could truly transcend the truth.

Yet her deduction was still leading her in the right direction.

According to the magic notes she had studied, any magic required the chanting of spells.

Magic that requires crossing dimensions, such as summoning the undead, must create a magic circle for possible success.

But just now, not to mention creating a magic circle, she didn’t even hear a magic chant, just a snap of the fingers, and a skeleton was summoned.

This was indeed a terrifying ability!

Rolin felt a cold sweat slowly trickle down her forehead.

Violet, on the other hand, did not elaborate on her action.

She summoned the undead merely as a shield to block traps and as a mobile torch.

At Violet’s bidding, the obedient undead was at the forefront of the group, standing in the middle of the corridor.

This undead skeleton was certainly a summoned being of Violet!

Rolin thought, and quickly offered, “I will create the torch.”

She instinctively wanted to do something noticeable around Violet.

Moving into the darkness, naturally required a torch.

She took a deep breath but ended up stuttering when she tried to chant the spell in front of Violet for the first time.

Several times, she had to give up midway and restart her spell.

Violet frowned, stepped forward, grabbed her hand, and shook her head.

If she wanted to cast magic, she couldn’t have such a mentality.

Then Violet demonstrated for Rolin herself.

She opened her own palm, and a white sphere emerged from it.

The sphere circled Violet and then ascended to hover mid-air, radiating white light.

From there, Violet began to carefully explain the magic to Rolin, earnestly saying “Magic always requires concentration, otherwise, no matter how much effort is made, it will be in vain.”
