Chapter 98: The Thalgrith Assault pt3

"Gustav, do it. Unleash your power!"

----

[Stellar Skill: Limitless Destruction]

Charge a missile with unlimited power. The missile’s power varies based on charging time.

The minimum charge is one minute, the maximum is one day.

---

This ability was something beyond the power a typical Stellar Rank should display.

Not even a Nova Rank, given all the time in the world, could destroy a High-Level Planet.

Only an Eclipse Rank could, yet not in such a short time.

High-Level Planets were too different from low- and mid-level ones.

"Master, are you sure about this?" Azure’s voice rang in Jeremy’s ears, asking something so obvious.

"Of course. Let’s show everyone what we’re capable of. This war will drag on for a bit; we can wait a day to let Gustav unleash himself." Jeremy’s voice was neutral, as if he weren’t discussing the destruction of an entire planet of that level.

Azure nodded in response.

He didn’t care about all this. His eyes were fixed on something else.

"Don’t worry, Azure. We’ll obtain every Nexus. Your power will undergo another evolution."

And with that, the two did nothing but wait.

---

Only one planet remained unexplored: Nightspire.

On this planet, a colossus was unleashing its power.

Leo’sol.

His size defied logic. If a High-Level Planet could reach the size of thousands of low-level planets, Leo’sol’s current size was that of several planets combined.

He was... massive.

On the same planet, other Osseoth Army members were wreaking havoc.

After all, Leo’sol was absorbing the impact of every devil’s blow.

With the entire world against him, his putrid, decaying, rotting skin kept peeling off his body only to reform, each regeneration accompanied by a sickening squelch that echoed across the battlefield.

He no longer seemed like something that should exist. Indeed, at his birth long ago, he had been labeled "Enemy of the Living," a fitting title when looking at him now.

His arms were so enormous they could grasp entire cities effortlessly. And as if that weren’t enough, he devoured everything as if they were delicacies.

But that wasn’t all. Leo’sol was having fun.

He shrank to chase a group of devils, then grew again, crushing them under a fist.

"It’s a living nightmare!" screamed a devil before being devoured.

Entire structures, devils, creatures of all kinds. Even some Osseoth Army members were caught by his hands and devoured.

Somehow, this seemed even crazier than Jordan destroying or fighting Hero’s army troops.

Well, maybe not... Jordan was truly a unique case, worthy of study... at some point, even Shady couldn’t contain him without using his Stellar Skill... but that’s another story.

Back on Nightspire, Leo’sol and the Osseoth Army weren’t the only ones having fun.

There was another majestic, imposing figure positioned exactly on the colossus’s head.

It was, of course, SuperCannon.

The two-headed wolf seemed to ride Leo’sol. Which was odd... after all, he was the mount.

His Arkhéon energy blasts devastated everything indiscriminately. He, too, occasionally destroyed members of his own army.

This pair of Generals was more alike than they seemed...

The Arkhéon energy formed lances, spheres, attacks of all kinds.

The ground rose in response to SuperCannon’s power.

As if that weren’t enough, SuperCannon decided to unleash his Stellar Skill.

---

[Stellar Skill: Super Shooter]

Charge attacks at light speed, unleashing maximum devastation in mere seconds.

---

If observed closely, this Skill could be considered the opposite of Gustav’s.

On one hand, Gustav charged his shot to make it exponentially more powerful; on the other, SuperCannon eliminated attack delays, unleashing a massive barrage of strikes on his enemies.

And, as if to prove a point, no one could withstand these blows. From the weakest devils to the Nova Ranks trying to harm Leo’sol.

After all, the colossus wasn’t there just for show. His Stellar Skill forced every existence to acknowledge him, striving to take him down at all costs.

---

[Stellar Skill: Enemy]

Every living being considers you their enemy and will seek to destroy you.

---

Here, too, a simple description, but one that perfectly captured Leo’sol’s existence and purpose.

This was why the Osseoth Army and SuperCannon could rampage freely; they had an invincible flesh shield by their side.

And with that, victory was only a matter of time...

---

"They’re having fun," Jeremy said, a dark smile on his face, his eyes glinting with a predatory satisfaction as he surveyed the chaos unfolding across the planets.

Azure, in his ship form, pulsed with energy. "Master, the Nexus is vulnerable. Whenever you’re ready, we can strike."

Jeremy drummed on his throne’s armrest. "Not yet. Let my children play. The Nexus will be mine."

"Master, I know you’re certain, but I’ll ask again..." Cambela’s voice echoed in the chamber. "Will you really let Gustav unleash his full power? He’s been charging the attack for about half an hour, yet it feels like he could wipe me out just by getting close. It’s absurd."

Jeremy merely laughed at Cambela’s words. "Of course, otherwise what’s the fun?"

And so, time continued to pass...

Through Azure, Jeremy could observe everything.

The siege of Drimveil by Jordan, somehow kept in check by Shady, and Hero with his death army.

The attack on Umbravox, where Yvanna had devastated the chain of command, sowing chaos on all fronts.

The planet Duskend, ravaged by the one and only Drae’mon. No one had yet figured out what he was. It was embarrassing for the devils.

Then there was Shadowcrux, the only planet without generals directly on it, but with countless Osseoth Army members. Well, there wasn’t a general causing chaos directly, but one doing so from afar—Gustav.

And finally, Nightspire, the source of devastation from Leo’sol and SuperCannon.

In all this, the Diaphanes were... useless? Well, not quite.

The only reason Jeremy had willingly agreed to collaborate with the Diaphanes was the presence of their Eclipse Rank.

Jeremy wasn’t so arrogant as to think he could defeat the one being that terrified the entire devil race with its power.

Moreover, it wasn’t just that.

Jeremy suspected the presence of more than one Eclipse Rank per clan.

It was impossible for each clan to have only one. Jeremy had this suspicion.

Additionally, he suspected the existence of a figure, or figures, governing the entire devil race.

Beings with even greater power...

These were just suspicions, but Jeremy was 99% certain.

A galactic race like the devils or Diaphanes could not lack monstrously powerful beings.

---

Shortly before the clash between Jeremy, the Diaphanes, and the devils began, in a distant part of space, two figures faced off.

"Bold of you to come here..." said Overlord Zorathar, staring at the prismatic figure. "Tell me, have not your previous defeats been enough? Or do you have an ace up your sleeve this time?"

The prismatic figure was none other than Overlord Kael-Zoryn, the Eclipse Rank tasked with keeping the Ebonveil clan leader in check.

But this wasn’t the first time the two had faced off. And every time, the Diaphane Overlord had never won.

However, he was the only one whose power countered Zorathar’s to some extent, making him a perfect match.

"Do not worry, Zorathar. This time, things will be different," replied Overlord Kael-Zoryn. His body shimmered with light as he prepared to face his enemy, his prismatic form radiating a blinding aura that seemed to fracture the surrounding space.

"You really want to fight me here? This is not your domain, Kael-Zoryn; no one can save you."

And with that, Zorathar attacked.

But he was not fighting with the intent to kill, at least not yet.

He was curious.

Why had Overlord Kael-Zoryn left his borders to come here? Did this assault on their galaxy have something to do with them? Were they targeting the Ebonveil? For what reason, and why?

These questions buzzed in Zorathar’s mind, yet he couldn’t find an answer.

Only a feeling kept tormenting him.

The feeling that something massive was coming, not just for their clan, but for their entire race.

Yet, he couldn’t pinpoint where this feeling came from.

This was why he was stalling, hoping Kael-Zoryn might reveal more...

But after the initial taunt, the Diaphane Overlord said no more.

Their clash proceeded as always. They were evenly matched.

However, it wasn’t in direct combat that Zorathar excelled.

It was his Authority that made him fearsome.

Even Kael-Zoryn couldn’t counter it with his own Authority. That was the truly remarkable thing about the devil Overlord.

And just as their battle began, the Diaphanes made their move, attacking Umbravox.

Seeing this, Zorathar’s eyes narrowed. He could see it now.

The Diaphanes’ plan was simple, yet highly complex to execute.

The devils, with all their clan distinctions and affiliations, could never be so coordinated.

"So that’s why you’re here. You want to destroy our Nexus, betting on no other clan being able to help us... Interesting."

Zorathar’s voice was calm. Despite uncovering the plan so easily, he had no intention of acting on it.

He was confident in his strength. These were mere trivial tricks.

Sure, the Diaphanes outnumbered the devils, but that wasn’t an issue. They were playing at home, not the Diaphanes.

They could handle a war of attrition.

After all, it was impossible for them to destroy the Nexus.

The Nexus was a natural element defining this galaxy.

In fact, the devils’ galaxy was also called the Nexus Galaxy.

The Nexus, besides serving as portals between each other, released vast amounts of energy, through which one could level up without necessarily killing other creatures.

However, this system was much slower than the classic kill-based system.

This was why clans constantly at war were stronger.
