Chapter 93: Jeremy vs Diaphanous Commanders

Chapter 93: Jeremy vs Diaphanous Commanders

Three days after Jeremy’s Rank-up.

Deep space was an ocean of silence, broken only by the hum of Diaphane ships converging toward a precise point.

At the edge of the Ebonveil system, a dark nebula loomed.

Here, far from prying eyes, the fleets prepared for the coordinated attack that would mark the beginning of the end for the Ebonveil clan.

Numerous Diaphane ships were already present within the nebula.

Moments later, from the infinite horizon of space, a ship utterly unlike any other captured attention.

It was immense, crafted in the same hue as space itself. The only way to distinguish it was the pulsating azure veins wrapping its entire structure, giving it a breathtaking appearance, like a living cosmic leviathan glowing with ethereal light.

"What is that thing?" one of the commanders aboard a Diaphane ship said.

"Prepare for battle; something’s moving toward us!" another shouted.

And so, the previously tense but relaxed atmosphere transformed into something else.

The approaching entity seemed like a monster.

Its shape vaguely resembled a marine creature, with a lance-like prow and a tail dissolving into tentacles, each seemingly alive with its own will.

But just as the Diaphanes prepared to attack the creature,

"Wait, don’t fire!" Commander Xar-Thren spoke suddenly, halting the assault being readied against the entity.

"Look there, that’s Zyr-Vaelis’s ship," another said.

"Then... that’s not a monster. It must be the ally Zyr-Vaelis spoke of. After all, they said they’d come with company."

Commander Veyl-Saris’s voice was uncertain, their prismatic eyes fixed on the unknown ship. "But... what kind of creature could create such a thing?"

---

After the call was interrupted due to Jeremy’s Rank-up, Commander Zyr-Vaelis had reconvened with the other commanders to explain as much as possible about what they had encountered.

No one agreed with Zyr-Vaelis’s intentions, except for a few.

But one thing was certain: everyone wanted to meet this ally Zyr-Vaelis spoke of and see their capabilities firsthand.

From Zyr-Vaelis’s description, they seemed incredibly capable, with unstoppable strength.

And, judging by the ship they were witnessing, this could very well be true...

Commander Zyr-Vaelis’s ship, followed by the monster-shaped vessel, landed gently on the artificial planet created by the Diaphanes within the nebula.

---

"Master," a voice interrupted Jeremy’s thoughts. It belonged to Azure, though not in his anthropomorphic form. It was the ship itself.

With his power at Stellar Rank, Azure could alter his size and form, among many other things.

"The Diaphane fleets are all here. From what Zyr-Vaelis told us, they don’t view us favorably."

Jeremy didn’t respond immediately. He sat comfortably on his throne, clad in armor that covered his body, leaving only his head exposed. His fingers drummed on the throne’s armrest, a slow, deliberate rhythm, each tap echoing with a faint, ominous pulse of dark energy.

"It’s time to make these beings understand who’s in charge here, don’t you think?"

Though no one else was on the ship, Jeremy spoke in the plural.

Seemingly, no one answered.

However, on his body, the armor glowed, as if signaling its readiness for anything.

Moreover, within his domain, which had grown immense due to its fusion with the planet itself, a cacophony of sounds, voices, and chaos erupted.

"Good!" A smile formed on Jeremy’s lips as he thought of his army of death.

After waiting a few minutes to organize everything, Jeremy descended from the ship.

---

"He’s about to come out. I wonder what race he is. Zyr-Vaelis said he looked very similar to humans."

"Sure? Isn’t that a weak race? If what Zyr-Vaelis said about him is true, he could literally be the strongest around."

As the commanders exchanged thoughts, Jeremy’s figure, cloaked in a black mantle, appeared.

The room filled with a heavy silence. The commanders’ prismatic eyes shifted toward the entrance as the door opened with a hiss.

Jeremy approached the commanders with a calm demeanor.

Silence fell.

The Diaphane commanders scrutinized him with piercing gazes. If not for the menacing aura Jeremy exuded, they might have attacked.

"Welcome. Now that we’re all here, we can finalize the attack strategies."

Commander Zyr-Vaelis spoke, trying to ease the growing silence.

But no one listened to what Zyr-Vaelis said. They were focused on Jeremy.

"I’ve already explained that our plan is secure; Jeremy is on our side. Don’t act like this," the Diaphane continued, attempting to lighten the tension.

But nothing.

All the commanders’ gazes were fixed on Jeremy. Seconds stretched endlessly...

"You speak of me as if I weren’t here," Jeremy said, his voice calm but brimming with an authority that silenced every mental whisper.

He stopped at the table, resting a hand on its edge. "I don’t like being judged."

The boy’s light, fearless voice made everyone frown.

Commander Xar-Thren stood, their prismatic form elongating. "Who do you think you are, human? You’re not one of our race. You have no right to be here."

Jeremy tilted his head, a dangerous smile on his face. "Human? Who exactly do you think you’re talking to? I’m not human. I’m a Thal’morion. Besides..."

"...you’re too weak to win without casualties."

"We Diaphanes are willing to die for our race. We don’t need the help of an outsider," Xar-Thren retorted.

Then another figure stepped forward.

"Zyr-Vaelis told us about your... army. But we see no proof. Only words. How can we trust an ally who hides their power?"

Veyl-Saris interjected, their mental voice more cautious but no less hostile.

With a wave of his hand, the ship transformed—

Before everyone, Azure appeared in all his splendor.

But, unlike before, his aura was unveiled, radiating raw power.

"I’d say we should follow Zyr-Vaelis’s suggestion and proceed with explaining the attack, or there won’t be a ’we’ left."

Azure’s robotic voice was clear. His power undeniable.

Though the commanders were all Nova Rank, some stronger than others, with unique abilities, the power Azure emanated sent chills down their spines.

This was even more striking given that Azure was a rank below them.

The silence that followed was deafening. Even Xar-Thren, who moments ago seemed ready to challenge him, sat back down, their prismatic body trembling slightly.

Zyr-Vaelis seized the moment to regain control. "Enough. Jeremy is our ally. His army will be crucial to destroying the Nexus. Now, let’s focus on the plan."

Their voice was firm, but their eyes betrayed a mix of relief and apprehension, as if they feared Jeremy might choose to annihilate them instead of the devils.

---

"The attack," Zyr-Vaelis explained, "is divided into two phases. The first is a diversion. Our main fleets, led by other commanders, will strike the major devil clans across the galaxy. This will force the Ebonveil to intervene to aid their race, splitting their forces and leaving the Nexus more vulnerable."

"For the second phase," Zyr-Vaelis continued, "our fleets, composed of S and EX Rank soldiers, will hit the outer planets of the Ebonveil system. Our Stellar Rank captains will lead ground and space assaults. And we’ll focus on swiftly defeating the remaining Nova Rank devils and charging toward the Nexus."

That was the general plan. The commanders, with Jeremy among them, discussed the attack phases in detail, besieging the opposite side of the Nexus as a diversion, then sending the main force to destroy it.

However, as they debated, a voice echoed in the room.

"You’re overplanning. Honestly, it’s pointless. Have fun as you like, but leave the Nexus to me."

All eyes turned to Jeremy.

They didn’t fully trust him, but his power was undeniable. And, judging by his words, he had an army far larger and stronger than theirs.

The Diaphanes nodded.

Meanwhile, Jeremy was already scheming within. The Nexus wouldn’t just be destroyed. It would become his.

Time passed, and everything was ready.

The Diaphanes’ assault on the devil forces began!

The fleets moved like a wave of prismatic light, ready to strike the outer planets of the Ebonveil system, while Azure, hidden in the nebula’s shadow, awaited the moment to unleash its power, its pulsating azure veins glowing like a heartbeat in the void.

---

After the meeting, Jeremy returned to Azure, now back in ship form.

Inside the chamber, all of Jeremy’s Aberrations were present. The army was within his domain; it wouldn’t fit inside the ship.

They were too numerous, after all.

Cambela, beside Jeremy, seemed uneasy. "Master, those Diaphanes... they don’t trust us. And that Nexus... destroying it won’t be easy."

Azure, in voice form, spoke suddenly. "Master, my analyses confirm the Nexus is more than a portal. It holds ancient energy, possibly tied to the devils’ power. If we could control it..."

Jeremy nodded. "Then it’s decided. We won’t destroy it. We’ll take it."

"Prepare yourselves," Jeremy said, his voice laced with a dark promise. "The galaxy is about to witness the true power of the Osseoth Army."

In response, his Thalgriths reacted in various ways.

Notably, his armor emitted a deep hum, its plates contracting like muscles, ready to shield Jeremy from anything.

The other generals stood before him.

They were all there, like generals primed for battle, their forms radiating a menacing aura that made the air within the chamber crackle with anticipation.
