Bone Alchemist: Necromancer of The Aberrations -
Chapter 92: Stellar Rank
Chapter 92: Stellar Rank
Commander Zyr-Vaelis stared at her without blinking. They understood the woman’s concerns, but the Diaphanes’ plan was not as simple as a blind assault.
"Of course it won’t go like that. Do you know why?" the commander’s voice grew heavier, resonating with an unshakable authority that seemed to ripple through the air. "Ours is a coordinated attack. Unlike the devils, who play dirty and fight among themselves, we Diaphanes are a united race."
"Ours," they continued with a proud expression, "will be an all-out assault. But our goal is singular: to destroy one of their clans. Forever."
Jeremy listened to all this in silence. He couldn’t say he wasn’t thrilled.
Perhaps he’d play along with them a little longer... after all, even at Stellar Rank, he was certain he couldn’t face an Eclipse Rank.
He had to go with them; he couldn’t be too arrogant and act alone. At least, not yet.
After the commander’s words, the air fell silent once more.
But only for a few seconds.
"A galactic war in all its glory..." Jeremy said with an excited expression, his eyes gleaming with a dark light, as if already envisioning the impending chaos.
And, as if sensing the mood, Jordan, the battle maniac, awoke from his brief slumber.
His expression became one of unprecedented excitement.
"War! Waaar!"
Jordan shouted, moving frantically, attacking and destroying anything in his path, his grotesque form leaving a trail of scorched earth and shattered crystals in his wake.
Jeremy could understand his enthusiasm but didn’t take it well.
"Hey, that’s enough. Go play somewhere else."
With a wave of his hand, an enormous black portal with bony edges appeared before Jordan, pulsing with a dark energy that seemed to devour the light itself.
At the sight of it, Jordan’s excited, war-hungry expression changed, becoming... fearful.
Why?
Massive fingers began emerging from the portal with deliberate slowness.
They were meant to bring despair to poor Jordan.
Was it a sin to be excited? Apparently... yes.
"Grawrh rawr!"
After a few seconds, the hand fully emerged from the portal.
Jordan didn’t even try to escape. He knew that hand. And he knew it was anything but slow.
It belonged to one of his elder siblings.
Leo’sol.
"Damn it..." were Jordan’s last words before the giant hand seized him and dragged him unwillingly into the portal, his roar fading into an echo of rage and fear.
What would happen? Only Jordan knew.
"Sorry, where were we?" Jeremy said nonchalantly, closing the portal, his lips curling into a sly smirk that barely concealed his amusement.
The group of Diaphanes looked at Jeremy strangely. What the hell was going on? Was this a comedic scene?
However, judging by the colossal hand that had briefly emerged and the power it radiated, none of the Diaphanes laughed.
"This kid is hiding a lot, huh?" the commander thought, their liquid eyes scrutinizing Jeremy with a mix of caution and curiosity.
Meanwhile, Aes-Dareth, the second-in-command, had recovered. Their hood was back over their head, concealing their appearance.
"Yet another EX Rank being with power that could overwhelm me? What the hell is going on?!" Their thoughts differed from the commander’s. They felt fear.
"Ah yes, our alliance..." Jeremy continued. He had opened the portal not only to drag Jordan into it but also to show his future allies that he had many hidden cards.
"So, do we have a deal?" Jeremy extended his hand toward the commander’s, his gesture slow and deliberate, as if daring Zyr-Vaelis to hesitate.
Grasping the boy’s hand, Zyr-Vaelis said,
"To the beginning of a long collaboration." Their tone was neutral, but their grip betrayed their strength, a silent warning.
And so, an alliance that would shake the galaxies was forged without any concern.
The two leaders continued talking for a while, clarifying the terms of their collaboration and how they would proceed moving forward.
After all, the day of the rendezvous with the other ships infiltrating the galaxy would come soon, very soon.
After much time, the two groups parted, satisfied with how things had gone between them.
"Commander—" Aes-Dareth’s voice echoed in the commander’s mind. "I have a question..."
With a nod, Zyr-Vaelis signaled them to continue.
"Do they intend to attack with the entire planet? Unlike us, they don’t have reality distortion; they won’t go unnoticed..."
Zyr-Vaelis looked at them, saying,
"Oh, I thought the same. However, he told me not to worry about it. He has a way to conceal it. I don’t know the details, but we must trust him. After all, his help only increases our chances of victory while reducing the number of sacrifices."
With that said, the two returned to their ship.
Per the agreement, they would follow the planet from a distance.
And so, the Diaphanes left Azure’s atmosphere.
---
A day had passed since the two groups established their alliance. Nothing had changed, except for one small thing.
Cambela.
She had decided to undergo her Rank-up, officially becoming the first Stellar Rank member.
"Was this the surprise you were talking about?" Jeremy said with irony, approaching Cambela.
He had sensed the Rank-up phenomenon and had come to her.
"Absolutely not, Master! However, my level was too low to allow you to grow stronger. But now, there are no more issues."
She said as something appeared in her hands.
"This is the best essence I can create. They’re limited in number, and it’s impossible to make more. So use it wisely." With a wink, Cambela walked away.
She needed a bath.
Jeremy held a vial in his hands.
Analyzing it, he immediately understood what it was.
---
[Stellar Elixir]
An elixir created by Cambela using her Rank-up essence to Stellar Rank. It enhances the power of a Stellar Rank or amplifies the effects of a Rank-up to Stellar Rank.
---
Simple and effective.
"Good, now all that’s left is to reach Stellar Rank." Jeremy murmured with a small smile. He was pleased with Cambela.
Without her, he wouldn’t have reached this point so quickly.
With brisk steps, Jeremy left Cambela’s laboratory.
Then, preparing all the materials, he drank the potion and assumed a lotus position.
He was ready to break through.
---
Meanwhile, aboard the Diaphane spaceship, Zyr-Vaelis gathered their crew. Not only that, a call was underway with all the commanders of the attack force.
A hologram of the Nexus, an immense portal surrounded by towers of dark energy, floated before them, its ominous silhouette pulsing with a malevolent aura that seemed to whisper of forbidden power.
"Our plan," said one of the attending commanders, "is a two-front assault. On one side, our army will strike all the devil clans simultaneously. The next moment, you’ll step in. Your task is to destroy the Ebonveil clan’s Nexus as quickly as possible, understood?"
As the call continued to clarify final details, Zyr-Vaelis spoke up.
They briefly recounted their discovery of a moving planet, how they were attacked, forced to form an alliance with these beings, and everything else.
"..."
Every commander fell silent. No one dared make a sound.
What Zyr-Vaelis had done was risky beyond measure. What if their plan had been exposed to the devils?
"How could you reveal everything to random people?!?" said one of the higher-authority commanders. "Do you realize this isn’t a game? What happens if your so-called ally decides to betray us? Have you ever considered the consequences of your actions, Zyr-Vaelis?"
But just as this was unfolding, the planet before Zyr-Vaelis’s ship erupted with power.
The call cut off abruptly, as if the sheer force was causing interference.
Space trembled under such density.
"What the hell is happening now??" one of the operators in the control room said, looking outside.
"It’s coming from the planet... is it about to explode?" another said.
"Activate emergency protocol!" the voice of the vice-commander, Aes-Dareth, rang out everywhere.
The spaceship halted, energy shields fully enveloping the structure’s exterior and interior.
Shockwaves tore through everything, destroying and shredding the very fabric of space.
Then, as if by magic, the entire planet vanished.
The shockwaves subsided, and everything returned to normal.
"What’s happening now?" Aes-Dareth spoke.
"Oh, I see. He said not to worry about the planet’s size. He must have done something to make it smaller... and, judging by the power felt earlier, it seems tied to his Rank-up.
He’s now a Stellar Rank."
The commander responded with a serious gaze.
---
"So this is what it feels like to reach Stellar Rank... everything is so different."
Jeremy’s expression was one of pure awe, his eyes shimmering with a newfound intensity, as if he could see the threads of reality itself.
He opened and closed his hands, as if testing his power.
But he wasn’t the only one undergoing a transformation. Every one of his Aberrations was experiencing the same.
"Congratulations, Master! Now
Every member of the Osseoth Legion was undergoing an enhancement. However, calling it a legion anymore was an understatement.
With hundreds of thousands of members, the legion had become, in every sense, an army.
An unprecedented surge of power struck every creature tied to Jeremy.
Within the Osseoth Cathedral, roars, snarls, and cries of all kinds accompanied the empowerment.
The Osseoth Cathedral itself had become something else.
The world, Azure, was undergoing a metamorphosis. Its density and power were increasing.
"Master—"
Azure, with his long azure hair, materialized before the boy.
"Now I can become part of you; you can absorb me into your Stellar Core. Let’s not let anyone realize how powerful we’re becoming, or they might get scared and flee."
Despite his monotonous voice, a hint of sarcasm could be read in his words.
